Personally I just find this as a good online game, its fun. If they do not ruin it with patches and fixes that make the gameplay high octane just to please the competitive scene. Sure, but imo this game is just fun unadultery gameplay and should probably stay like that.
I think the gameplay itself is fine aside from a couple of small things for the sake of balance (melee is a noob trap atm, for example). But I think it needs something to keep people coming back. Even a basic ranked mode with a ladder like halo 2 back in the day would do imo.
@@thegeck0frontier Well, you can't craft perfection, but you can get close. Out the gate, I'd say this is the most balanced I've seen any game this generation.
Agreed. Ty for watching. If they add private lobbies with spectator, I would love to host a tournament. Even if I'd probably not be good enough to compete seriously.
Love those games. Even though my personal KD isn't going to be impressive, the grind fest matches where the counter play is there are the funnest. Tbh they are also the ones where I learn the most. Ty for watching
I'd personally like to see perfect parry and dodge become a thing in pvp, cus there's no counter play to melee 90% of the time outside of just dropping a nade at your feet and hoping for a martydom kill lol. Perfect parry would only work against normal melee attacks and perfect dodge would only work against power attacks, gives a good counter to to people just running in and spamming melee over just spamming guard and hoping someone comes saves you lol and cause power attack already breaks your guard it'd be good if you "read" the power attack you can get either a free gun shot(Doesn't have to do a lot of damage but something is better than nothing) or they get put in to some recovery animation letting you get a shot or 2 in. Just personal opinions tho.
Ty for watching. Melee needs a lot of work, but I think we're playing a different game. Notice I almost never even attempt to melee because it's less effective than just shooting. Even against the most armored classes, the TTK of any auto weapon is faster. If someone is attempting to melee the best you can do is dodge back then gun them down. They're forced to either back off, dodge towards you (while you shoot them), or get kitted (while you shoot them). Unless you've already taken damage or are getting teamed up on ranged, always wins. Which I also think it's a problem.
@@thegeck0frontierwhat kind of changes would you like to see with melee, im not as experienced as you are but i totally agree that melee is a total noob trab currently. I do like this guys idea of perfect dodge and parry but theyd need to buff melee substantially to warrant having counterplay

@thegeck0frontier I've heard suggestions about reducing ranged damage and or buffing melee damage instead. As you pointed out why melee if you can gun instead barring things like flanking attacks
@thegeck0frontier you can already stagger lock someone as is, dodge melee is counted as a power attack so it breaks guard, and you can infinitely chain dodge attacks someone runs away, I've been get 30+ kill games on Bulwalk just dodge attacking people as they try roll away/parry
I really can’t wait for the vanguard grapple to get fixed. Currently it is crazily over powered with the stun lasting the entire duration from grapple hit to the kick
Ty for watching. Stay tuned for my next vid as this will showcase that. A lot of the time though it might be server issues. But at the very least if it does have that long of a stun, the damage should be removed. The CD is entirely too short for such a strong tool.
You can counter that with roll + invisibility with sniper and jump with assault, with the other classes make sure you stay with your mates if there are 2 guys abusing hook
@@ZH-fc8dw you can dodge if you time it right but it is still incredibly overpowered that it stuns the entire duration of the skill. It should just stun on the kick the way that assaults ground pound stuns on landing

TY for watching. That would be a great feature and if it were possible maybe even a play of the game or a upvote system to recognize teammates or opponents.
I really enjoyed the campaign. They did a great job of emerging you into the 40k universe. But I've definitely spent way more time playing PvP than I thought I was going to. Ty for watching
my main issue with pvp is that is so very light in content. Only 3 maps and not very creative ones at that and most classes have very little in the way of unlocks. I think it hurts the experience of what could honestly had the potential to be an establish pvp scene. Sadly i see most people getting burn on what little there is withing a few weeks if not a few days of regular play.
Ty for watching. I don't disagree. However if I'm being fair the game wasn't really built just for PvP. Though I think if it's supported well will be the main source of longevity for the game. Or at the very least the part that will require the least work to improve. More maps, modes and private lobby will go a long way. Absent a ranked system a private lobby alone will allow the community to self create.
Melee outside of the dedicated clases for it is abit of a meme. It moreso a parry tool than anything. However, yes I agree with enough PVP lobbies, 6man grouping, ranked and more maps/modes, this has potential to be a competitive scence. Sad that the early offerings are so anemic. I will say tho, melee on bulwark and assault are pretty strong.
Ty for watching. I'm going to have to disagree on the melee strength of these 2 classes. In my experience, they have to be played perfectly and have a miss play by their target in order to consistently win fights. Bulwark is a strong, supportive class (especially with a good heavy) but can't really solo carry a lobby.
@@thegeck0frontier It difficult to say because the better players will pub stomp with anything. I played assault and have gotten 18/3 with lead in objectives just because Thunder hammer slam into a dash attack or a R1 swing is a guaranteed kill depending on how they roll and if they can roll far enough. The pistol is also pretty decent for mop-up. Bulwark can't chase as hard due to no slam, but the power sword is a 3 hit kill with a good tracking lunge with a beam, and a better pistol with the plasma weapon. Bulwark makes up for this due to just tanking stuff. Watch some gameplay of these two classes. I think the viability of melee is underplayed due to many players just spamming chain sword R1s which is pretty weak with no unique tech.
I think it will be a bit of a skill issue. You're right that if a sufficiently skilled player on a class gets into a lobby it will make any class look good. Pub stomping will get old and I really hope there will be some type of competitive outlet. If even private lobbies with spectate, I'd host a tourney in a heartbeat. Then I think it will be painfully obvious whats strong and whats not. Like shock nades a broke AF RN IMO. But thats a whole other convo.
Yeah I got to revisit this. Just played a bunch of matches with top tier Bulwarks and some decent assaults (Not enough for me to be afraid of them but def enough to earn respect). Overall, I still think ranged is the superior meta but very well played melees can make an impact. Even if the margine for error is way smaller.

i got 38.2 hours on space marine as of writing this and to be honest I feel like PVP is just not as good as it should be, it feels like a worse version of Space Marine 1's, don't get me wrong it's fun I mainly play pvp because i just don't find the 6 coop missions super engaging, but there's almost no customization for loyalist and literally none (other than colours) for traitors, you can't swap shoulder view so it leads to certain angles and obj being hard to push or defend just because the enemy can expose wey less or their body or see you before you see them when pushing which leads to infuriating and unfair firefights, melee is just awful, you aren't rewarded if you parry someone so in a 1v1 the guy that gets faster to his last attack in the combo wins, time to kill is a bit too long (in my opinion but that's probably just my preference) there are 3 maps that are very nice to look at full of detail but are just corridors with one big open area at the middle with very few flanking routes which is a shame because if this game had game modes like payload or some kind of "rush" it would truly shine but at lass it feels like something the devs added for them to spend time in the office during development and later tacked on the game.
