As a former Beta tester of NIK software, I may be influenced a bit (no pun) but Silver Effex remains King in the B&W editing software market, and I am unanimous in that !
I use Silver Efex for a long time already but here I got great suggestions for far more subtile changes. I love this software! Thanks a lot for this video!
Using NIK's since ages it is always nice to see what other users do and like and what they do with new features. Thanks for the effort, good tut, IMO Nik's still the best !!
I still use Silver Effects 2 and absolutely hate the new Nik changes to the Original Silver Effects. Nothing at all good to say about the new updated version. Will keep using Silver Effects Pro 2!
Hi. I have a question - I love the software but am constrained in using it due to the size of the files it spits out when you've edited and saved an image. For example, the portrait image you've edited has created a file that's 217MB (you can see that 28 minutes and 40 seconds in to the webinar). So I'm really limited in how many of these I can do as I quickly use up a hell of a lot of disk space. Do you have any tips on how you manage that?
Great software but the control points on PRO 3 is different when each control point is shown on the right and the percentages of the numbers are so so small you can't even see them. DXO put the control points the way it is on PRO 2, much much better.
nice tuto, Dan. I am making infrared photography with lifepixel filters and i need to use adobe dng editor to be able to move temperature slider below visible range and then channel swap before i can start better processing. Do you mean that you can directly send the redish raw into sylvere efex pro without these steps ? I follow your sylvere efex pro 2 tutos for years and I love sylver efex pro since it exists but it becomes a little old fashioned. compared to ON1, Skylum, lightroom profiles/LUTs,... can DXO team update sylver efex pro 2 a little bit with the following basic features in order to have a better workflow, especially with Nik3.3 non destructive in sep2 inside lightroom : - possibility to add categories to sort all presets coming from different editors - eraser tool as we had in capture nx2 to remove some unwanted elements - a brush with edge detection. sometimes we need 10 upoints to make same than one brush stroke or one radial filter in lightroom - true radial filter to paint light like lightrrom. more general than a upoint - true graduated filter more geeral than burn edges. possibility to mask out a towere,... touched by the gradient (like lightroom and old capture nx2) - possibility to boost a little bit white balance and color boost for better BW in case we missed something in lightroom or viveza so no need to come back and forth - add luts and textures (requires a stack like color efex pro4) - possibility to have pur white borders on a sepia brwonish image (border is touched by split toning) marc

So far this is the best overview of SEP2 I've seen to date
Great webinar. Silver Efex is just awesome, I will be getting on board no doubt. I also didn't know that DXO have a webinar library, top stuff man.
Fantastic webinar! Just bought the Nik Collection so this helps a lot!
This is great. Enjoy your new software
Cracking vid, many thanks for your efforts in preparing and delivering the webinar, i'm hooked on Silver Efex. Cheers from Anglesey
An amazing webinar. I knew I was missing a lot of the power of Silver Efex Pro, but I didn’t know what I was missing. Now I do.

You did not mention the tonality protection sliders. Please address.
