Qin Haiyang split 57.82 on the breaststroke leg in the mixed medley relay; Tang Qianting split 1:05:79 on the breaststroke leg in the women’s medley relay. There is almost eight seconds separating those splits. Between the three, the difference between Pan and Yang’s relay splits is the smallest of the three comparisons and that is why Pan didn’t swim the anchor on this relay.
