    As a potter, I am kind of mortified that you are dry sanding without any PPE or ventilation happening. Stay healthy friend.

      Thank you for your concern, but it was a one off and just a light rubdown 👍🏻

    Do you treat your paper with anything before putting it on top of bath? Thank you. Teri

      I don’t treat my paper. I use regular copy paper which may have an additive that helps with binding

    GREAT VIDEO! Thank you. A question, what do you treat ithe ceramic base with so that paints adhere? I thought I heard a word like Allem? but I can´t hear the word. could you please write out the word of the material that you use to treat the ceramic base so that the pigments adhere after you sand. Is this a bisqued piece-fired once before you apply the paint? Thank you. I am guessing you use ceramic color pigments.

      Hi, the ceramic is bisque, I treated it with aluminium sulphate and my paint is Turkish Ebru water based pigments blended with ox gall acid and water. I spray sealed it with a silk sheen varnish once dry.

    Loving your videos. Another question about this piece. Why did you not use ceramic pigments-colorants and or oxides-with this piece? Do pigments used in ceramics not float on the water? I ask because I am a ceramist and am wondering if I can use the ceramic pigments or if it simply does not work with the Ebru method. Thank you again.

    • @JamesMouland
      @JamesMouland  Рік тому +1

      It didn’t need firing so no need for ceramic pigments

      @@JamesMouland Thank you again. What I meant to ask, is if you have used ceramic pigments to float them on the water and marble with? I understand that if the ceramic pigments were to float, and I was able to marble-Ebru with them, I would then need to do a second firing with the pigments and finally either glaze or spray. I am asking if ceramic pigments and mxed with gall do float in the sizing...that is my question. If you know, and have tested, I would appreciate a response. Thank you in advance.

      @@user-pe8cu1vs6d I've managed to get cobalt blue to float, it took about 2 months of stirring in the gall acid, lots of trail and error, but yes in principal.
