After critiquing "general equity theonomy", obscuring the end of 1689 Chapter 19.4, and trying to argue that the laws of the OT are completely abrogated, Sam Waldron says at 29:28, "Now I'm not saying that there's no application of the of the general equity of the judicial laws to the state and culture, I think there is." Welcome to general equity theonomy, Dr. Waldron :). Listeners who want to understand what theonomy and general equity theonomy really teach should listen to others (for example, the confessionally Reformed Christians who actually hold to it) who will give a more accurate description.
Does the Reformed Baptist Network not allow postmillennial and/or general equity theonomy churches to join its network?

Why would they allow ANOTHER Gospel?
"The knowledge of God and salvation depend on keeping His commandments." Greg Bahnsen
That is HERESY that sounds just like the RCC! You can keep your cult leaders. I'll stick with Scripture!!

Wow , Greg Bahnsen did not say that. You have not listened to or read any of his books , lectures or debates. You just slandered .

So blue laws can’t be defended biblically 47:43 but private employers should be mandated to give their workers off on the sabbath? 46:00 Is there any biblical grounds for these distinctions or are we just going to have to come to Dr. Waldron on a case-by-case basis?

I’ve read Bahnsens Ethics in Theonomy - to say he believes in the exhaustive application of the mosaic law & not explain his hermeneutics is disingenuous, He teaches continuity - meaning The truths & principles of the Old Testament continue to be relevant unless abrogated in the New Testament- he’s clear that only God can change His Word - Veiwers - Bahnsen has 2 great lectures on UA-cam where he thoroughly explains theonomy - check it out

Normy, norm? What does that even mean?

I thought the same thing, he barely could stay awake. Sounds like the interviewer has a bone to pick.

"Norming norm", meaning natural law is the norm that norms all other laws. Dr. Waldron wasn't falling asleep, either. Those are just his mannerisms.

What works, and what supports the spread of the gospel, is an insistence on religious liberty. Sometimes, this means putting up with people you dont agree with. But even Puritans were human beings, and the best of them veered into sin. Theonomy marries the church with the state, and all the morally dubious undertakings a state gets involved with. Also, when the church is the government powerhouse, corrupt men will put on a religious mask for the purpose of enriching themselves and increasing their power.
Religious liberty gives you room to admonish and to exhort, and perhaps to lead the culture into revival. And if the culture experiences revival many of the laws and cultural issues would take care of themselves.

The ignorance of Waldron regarding Theonomy is appalling. It is obvious that he has read next to nothing of the original sources.
