Bro you gotta pay attention to everything- the lyrics, the music, the sound, and the message. You listened to it but I don’t think you really heard it. Hope you take the time to actually sit there and appreciate this absolute masterpiece of human ingenuity. It has changed the lives of many many men and women.
It's hard to capture everything in a first listen. My favorite song is Time and I gotta admit I replayed it a thousand times to actually digest the song. It's awesome
@@christopherg.8591 I've listened to Time about 2000 times and i still discover new things. Try the Quad mix version from the Immersion Box Set, its awesome and new things pop out that arent as pronouced in the stereo version
An album you can listen to a 1000 times and continue to hear something new, there are so many sounds going on it is astounding. One of the marvels of modern production and will be studied for as long as people have ears.
I’m glad you mentioned the mix and engineering of this album. Everything about this album, from the writing and performance down to the technical aspects of putting it down on magnetic tapes, is exquisitely crafted. Nothing else has yet come close to the sheer brilliance that is this album. One for the ages.
The engineer of this album was Alan Parsons, he also helped engineer abbey road by the Beatles as well as having a very successful solo career. One of his most popular songs is called "eye in the sky" check it out
Dope reaction, glad you took the time to check out what PF is about especially after that first try, kudos! I'll give you the quick PF guide so you know going forward: 1. Pink Floyd is all about the journey they take you on, both the albums and the individual songs are that way ("I feel like I'm listening to a movie," you get it). 2. There are 4 main albums that are concept albums (i.e. meant to listen to the whole thing in one sitting), Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. 3. The music and the lyrics are layered and deep, emotional and meaningful. It's always good to have the lyrics in front of you so you can appreciate what they are expressing. 4. Welcome to the machine my good man, enjoy the ride down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole!
If you are worried about missing a change when stopping, simply restart 5-10 seconds back. Can't speak for others, but I'm a PF reaction junkie to hear what emotions and feelings people experience when listening. This will be different for each person, and that is what is interesting. Send more Floyd! Edit: It was mixed by Alan Parsons.
Really glad you got around to this and gave it a listen! Your point about needing to digest this and listen again is on point. By not having to worry about us and commentary, you'll hear a lot of things that you may have missed the first time and I'm sure you'll like it even more. This is a genius piece of art and I think it will still be revered 50 years from now. Hope this is the start of more Pink Floyd videos. There is so much good shit that you're going to appreciate. peace Brother!
That's for posting this. You worked your ass of editing this classic album and the first of it's kind. After this they started calling them concept albums. Do your self a favor and watch the video Pulse where they perform the Dark side of the Moon in its entirety live absolutely AWESOME....
You had the greatest reaction of everyone That was awesome... Dogs is a song you would love.. Well anything Pink Floyd Thank you for the Great reaction I clicked subscribe to see a few more and Welcome to the Journey called Pink Floyd .....And if you ever want to see the greatest guitar solo google Comfortably numb Live Pulse
and THIS is why you listen to a floyd album back to back rather than single tracks, they all blend and bleed into each other to form a painting it's great, floyd albums really put things into perspective for me when i need a reality check or i clean my house with it on my record player, i emotionally zone out for a bit doing the dishes so it makes my life easier 😂
I’m working on a rug by hand embroidery (with yarn) and I’ve listening to so many albums since I started, usually I watch a reaction and then listen to the album in entirety (Rush’s 2112 is another great one for this).
You are right about needing more than one time around to fully grasp this album. I've been listening to it since it first came out and I still love it after countless times. Feel better soon!!
This album is a treasure, the sick blues based guitar riffs, mind bending vocals, profound lyrics and sublime sax parts are rarely paralleled in music...The engineer for this album Alan Parsons has some exquisite stuff too!
The album is a masterpiece, but for me "time" is the best song. It might even be the best song I've ever heard, and it's one that becomes more special as you get older.
Watching someone realize that this album needs to be listened to from start to finish. This is one of the best reactions to this album I have seen yet. Welcome to the dark side!
Yep, this was a fantastic sharing experience. For those of us who've known this work for years, decades, it's very curious to see someone go into it fresh and not knowing what's to come. It was both fun and funny watching you trying to figure where you could safely pause to speak. Cheers.
Listening to this album one evening, specifically "On the Run", made me question if I was even listening to a song, which led to wonder, what is music anyway? That's what this album is for, pondering the great questions of life. Great video as always 👍
Hey you,,,I was the person who left the comment below this one. I just watched you listening to Pink Floyd’s..Dark side of the moon” Super Dope is for real! Back in the middle 1970’s you should of been hanging in my basement listening to this with me and my peeps. Talk about mind blowing🤪 In 1975 we went to one of their concerts at Olympia Stadium in the “D” and they were told they weren’t welcomed back ever again to Detroit. The light show was to much for the wimps of the city!! Every song has a different feel to it. David Gilmour is phenomenal even to this day!! There’s one song you should listen to it’s “Wish you were here”. It was written for Syd Barrett who started the band but had a breakdown and never returned. The guys in the band wrote that song for him. Now that’s a dope song!! Every song Floyd does is different from the last one ☝️. You’re were right..it’s like you’ve been abducted. First thing I do when I get in my car...I put in a Pink Floyd CD. Feel better and catch my comment below this one. Janis💞
The thing that always amazes me about this album is that the sounds and instrumentation were all produced without computers and digital technology. Plus it flows just beautifully. Pink Floyd is a sonic journey every time. Dave Gilmour is the main singer and guitar player. He’s in his early 70s now & still tours and totally kicks ass!
@Matthieu JOLY - There's a wrong fact in your comment: 20th century is revisionism... You propagate fake news... This is The Sole Album reaching Space Time rank. It is beyond "good" or "greatest". Nowhere in the infinite universe, no other time in History another album will supersede this one. Et ouais mec, tu peux pas teste !
@@garryiglesias4074 In fact, i've got my own personnal list of "albums" / music that is/are with this album (not a fact, a choice, matter of personnal opinion, in the "sapce/time continuum"), but, this is "my" perception. Everybody has one. As... etc.
Excellent reaction, good sir. You made it, man! Tech difficulties, battery issues, being sick - but you persevered!!! My favorite album of all-time (and that's sayin something cuz I'm 60). Cheers from London, England.
It's not far ahead at all... It's completely out of time. DSTOM is simply referenced as The Album when we talk about Space Time objects. The Universe exist just for the purpose of this album. Thousands of generations died before us just to complete the Great Plan.
Every sound effect, screech, distortion, boom, crash, voice over, waver of note and woorble, in piano or synth - or any other instrument for that matter - THAT YOU HEAR in todays music has their roots in this album (or other Pick Floyd albums, like WYWH, or Animals, MEDDLE, and The Wall). Anyone of any importance in the music industry will acknowledge the effect and impact this album has had on their own music. PF started it all and did SO MUCH for the future of music in 1972/3 by releasing this album, that its impact will never be fully known or quantified, IMO !!!
Thank you very much for revisiting Pink Floyd. Their fans (myself included) can occasionally become almost too passionate. The "Big 4" albums from Pink Floyd: "The Dark Side Of The Moon", "Wish You Were Here", "Animals", and "The Wall" are definitely best listened to straight through, if possible. For their other 11 studio albums, it's not nearly as important. If you love the guitars, be sure to listen to David Gimour's solo work. His live performance videos "Live In Gdansk" (2006) and "Live At Pompeii" (2016) are incredible.
I know you got beat up for your previous Pink Floyd reviews, but I know you didn't know how passionate the fans are. This album is a masterpiece, and was on the billboard top 200 for 17 years straight!. Longest in history, no one comes close. I hope you are beginning to understand. I know you are still learning..
Not sure you're interested but, having lived through this time I will mention that 'our' counter culture included this rebellion of the 2-3 minute industry standard for songs. We rebelled against this constraint of music and many artists and bands started composing themed albums and long cuts that seamlessly blended into the next track. I personally still am astounded at what was accomplished in the sixties and seventies in rock and progressive rock and fusion. Pink Floyd is a great start and there is much more to discover if you look.
For some odd reason, this album makes me cry. I bought it when it was first released, listening to it through my dad's headphones on his old Hi-Fi. Over time, I think we can all point to musical compilations that go down in history as some of the greatest on earth. For me, this is one of those albums. I have so many memories that go with these tracks: summers with friends on Mt. Diablo, parties at Strawberry Lake, road trips to the head shop in Hayward along the Old Road. It's great to watch you experience the album through headphones just the way I did nearly 50 years ago. Some things (wonderfully) never change. :) P.S. I think you gave me your cold.
@@themightyfp To be sure, it doesn't make me cry because I'm sad, it makes me cry because the whole album is so amazing. It's a beautiful compilation of musical talent. Thanks for the tissues!
Finally. Someone who understands that you need decent headphones to really get the Floyd. Also have another legend on the wall behind you. I've spent countless hours listening to both. Enjoy your journey.
Just try not to do it during the guitar solo. Soon as the break hits , stop review then go back a little .Then you never miss anything.Little tip from your uncle Tim. This shit is a classic , very nice.
We'll there 's no legitimate time to stop a Vinyl side... The only break on the blueprint is between the Great Gig and Money... And it's just for you to turn the disc, maybe stretch a little bit, pack his pouf, and that's it.
My man your review was spot on. You really couldn't articulate what you were feeling, other than it was emotional and moved you. Thats what music is all about
Nick Mason is my very favorite drummer. That rolling beat just on the lazy end of all of the beats, and perfectly healthy fills when needed. Not a show-off. But in the spotlight for sure. I LOVE HIM
no fucking around my friend i like your channel..i had this album when i was like 9 years old love every song this is epic enjoy it...even if u disagree with me i like your chanell your honest...
It's like you walked into a museum to check out one particular masterpiece, and every little day-to-day thing popped up to distract you. But you hung in there, you put in the time and the effort. Good job.
"It paralyzes time and removes me from my body." were the words I jotted down after listening to this album in its entirety for the first time whilst toasted to the gills on weed and mushrooms. It's a 43 minute long song and one of the most beautiful things ever recorded.
Clare H. Torry (born 29 November 1947) is a British singer, best known for performing the wordless vocals on the song "The Great Gig in the Sky" You go girl!
As someone from that early era it is interesting to witness the context for this guy's listening experience compared to how a lot of us older guys received Pink Floyd back then. For us hallucinogens weren't too far removed as being part of the experience of this genre of music even if we weren't taking while listening. It was about the "trip" Pink Floyd's music was taking us on. In a way, quite naive of us but where I see confusion in this guy's initial take I remember feelings of anticipation and the rush as we experienced our journey down the rabbit hole. And then of course it became about the music and it was sublime and almost unexpected.
This album is meant to be listened to in one sitting. It takes you on a trip through life from birth "Breath" to death . You kinda got the jist of it .Best album ever in my opinion. thanks for posting this I enjoy other people's reaction you were taken on a trip through the circle of life.
Nice reaction to this amazing album! It'd be amazing to see you do their Wish You Were Here album next. Even if you've hear Shine on part 1 already just do it all together when you have time. Their Animals album is amazing too. If you listen to this on CD or vinyl there aren't any clicks between songs. They transition seamlessly.
He is incredibly intelligent to realize on his first listen to just let it go and not speak for the sake of missing whats next. This took me dozens of listens and years...
Stumbled into your reaction saw you were doing Dark Side of the Moon, grabbed my Reposado Tequila sat back and enjoyed the ride. This album never fails to evoke an emotional response as I absorb all the music, lyrics, nuances, and majesty that is DSOTM. This album, along with "Wish You Were Here" achieve the rare feat of displacing time as one listens to it. The music takes you on a journey and you wish it would never end.(the tequila is now in control). Look forward to your next Pink Floyd reaction, you're in for a helluva ride.
im so glad you gave this a listen, a lot of the things you said about this album would be great t-shirt quotes for floyd. im glad your videos show how we can stereotype people and place people into groups who only like this music or that music like its a war and we have to fight for our genre when in reality all music is art that can be appreciated by anyone with an open mind. i hate hearing people say this song sucks, that band sucks or this music is inferior about any music even if its not to my tastes, i appreciate the thought that goes into the lyrics for rap and the effort and vocal training that goes into screamo metal even though I'm not fond of many songs in either of those genres i can still see the artists hard work and feeling behind their work. thanks for a great video
I like how honest you are about not being able to review them on first listen. Its true, you will enjoy it even more in later listens, until it becomes an old friend. Their songs age well.
Pink Floyd has a lot of variety in their albums. Pink Floyd only recently clicked with me and I've just been binging through their back catalog. I've only heard 5 pink Floyd Albums so far but I'd love a reaction to pink Floyd's album Piper at the gates of dawn
I love your channel. You do a wider variety of genres and styles than most who make reaction videos. Thank you! Dark Side of the Moon is one of my all time favorite albums. I smiled when you were saying that is was like "listening to a movie". Did you know that the album syncs up perfectly with The Wizard of Oz? It's crazy!
ziggylove9 , Bi ziggylove9, I just got a blue guitar like bowies, and the first song I’m gonna learn to play is Queen Bitch! I’m 59 but nothing will stop me!
Whether you do it for a video or just for yourself kicking back on the couch, I strongly suggest the Wish You Were Here album in its entirety. It was also made to all blend together and I actually prefer it over dark side of the moon but that’s just my preference. it’s a heavily emotional album and you can really feel every bit of it. Just a suggestion, you won’t regret it
I really liked this show. Your reaction to the music was sincere. Much of Dark Side of the Moon is what I call floaty music where, you're right, it does affect the body and mind. One could say that the album was a masterfully created piece of art. Looking forward to another album review. 🖤✌
I have never left a message on this type of thing before but total respect to you for listening to the whole album👍 pissed off if people have been giving you a hard time about how to listen, fuck them, do it your own way, you obviously have musical knowledge, so enjoy, love the floyd 👍👍👍
you shouldnt worry so much about comments u know :) i listened to most Floyd songs on their own, way before i heard a full album like this one. it didnt ruin anything for me, so enjoy it. Pink Floyd are just, amazing, so have a lot of obsessive fans thats all.
1 of the greatest albums front to back all time. 17 straight years the album was in the top 100. Will never b done again. Someone needs to sync this wit the wizard of Oz. Start the album on the lions 3rd roar at the beginning of the movie. So many coincidences that it will blow your mind!!! The screaming during the tornado, black, black lyrics when the witch appears to the songs money & lunitic on the grass.
Im still blown away by the pure skill Pink Floyd produced whit the music, 46 years after release of this album, still other musicians don’t have a clue what they are doing 👍🏻 Now try give The Wall a listen, its more mean stream, meany may not like it, but i think its a masterpiece, not as much as this, but its freaking epic as well
Great choice and thank you for doing it. Dark side amongst other like albums has so many layers that it does require multiple listening, cause there are so many layers to the album. When concept albums get it right it is totally mind expanding(and exploding). The 1 key that you seem to get is that it is emotion. Its not just lyrics but lyrics with music, with atmosphere and with texture. It is like a sandwich versus an entire meal, so many parts contribute to the whole, which hip hop, IMO, doesn't have the depth to. Now, to find the next mind blower for you, cause who doesn't like to get blown? Lol
This reaction makes me happy. I'm continued to be blown away that this album was made in 1973. This was some next level shit for it's time and is still next level by today's standards. I hope you do Wish You Were Here album next. In my opinion, it's their best album.
Nice reaction! If you ever have the cahones to do The Wall reaction I recommend the entire movie and not the album. Without visuals that shit is IMPOSSIBLE to understand
I remember about 3 years ago when i was 18 listening to this album in its entirety for the first time (I had already heard breath, time, money, and brain damage), to say it changed my life would be a fair statement. Whenever I'm feeling any sort of emotion, whether it be happiness or sadness, when I play this album from start to finish it just elevates me into a new space, something I can't explain. There are very few albums you can listen from start to finish over and over again with it still feeling fresh, I hope Pink Floyd's music lives on forever.
Dark Side of the Moon 🌙 will forever be a timeless classic, for an album made in 1973 with no computers, sounds effects and mixed to perfection. On the top 100 billboard for 18 years, absolutely incredible 👏 take a bow Pink Floyd.
Some of the greatest music composition in musical history. Every man women and child should listen to this album, the world would be a better place, no doubt about that at all. ✌️❤

I'm back, Rat. Anything Pink Floyd and I'm here! You did good.
An album you can listen to a 1000 times and continue to hear something new, there are so many sounds going on it is astounding. One of the marvels of modern production and will be studied for as long as people have ears.
Spot on man 😊❤
Next is the "Wish You Were Here" album.
I’m glad you mentioned the mix and engineering of this album. Everything about this album, from the writing and performance down to the technical aspects of putting it down on magnetic tapes, is exquisitely crafted. Nothing else has yet come close to the sheer brilliance that is this album. One for the ages.
Brock O'Meles: It is an analog masterpiece.
The engineer of this album was Alan Parsons, he also helped engineer abbey road by the Beatles as well as having a very successful solo career. One of his most popular songs is called "eye in the sky" check it out
Us and Them, a beautiful song about the sadness of conflict.
Dope reaction, glad you took the time to check out what PF is about especially after that first try, kudos! I'll give you the quick PF guide so you know going forward:
Same! Love it
Really glad you got around to this and gave it a listen!
There is so much good shit that you're going to appreciate.
peace Brother!
philiposm: I feel that in 200 years, folks will be looking back at Pink Floyd in the same way that we do with Bach, Mozart, etc. today.
Skip William Appreciate the sub. Thanks for the suggestion be well. ✌️
and THIS is why you listen to a floyd album back to back rather than single tracks, they all blend and bleed into each other to form a painting it's great, floyd albums really put things into perspective for me when i need a reality check or i clean my house with it on my record player, i emotionally zone out for a bit doing the dishes so it makes my life easier 😂
I’m working on a rug by hand embroidery (with yarn) and I’ve listening to so many albums since I started, usually I watch a reaction and then listen to the album in entirety (Rush’s 2112 is another great one for this).
@bhelliom3 where do we see these rugs?
Never too old to discover Pink Floyd. Don't waste any more time. Delve deeper.
To think. 46 F'ings years ago. It's still 100% relevant. Not only musically, but also our current state of life/existence.....
I love how candid you are sometimes, dude. Never fear saying the shit rolling around in your head.
Best album of all time . The best review you have done. More album reviews.
More Pink Floyd especially.
Pink Floyd rules 🤘
You are right about needing more than one time around to fully grasp this album. I've been listening to it since it first came out and I still love it after countless times. Feel better soon!!
This album is a treasure, the sick blues based guitar riffs, mind bending vocals, profound lyrics and sublime sax parts are rarely paralleled in music...The engineer for this album Alan Parsons has some exquisite stuff too!
Try Pink Floyd Animals or Wish You Were Here. Both albums are a journey just like Dark Side of the Moon.
And the wall
The album is a masterpiece, but for me "time" is the best song. It might even be the best song I've ever heard, and it's one that becomes more special as you get older.
Watching someone realize that this album needs to be listened to from start to finish. This is one of the best reactions to this album I have seen yet. Welcome to the dark side!
Don Lafontaine 😊 thank you appreciate your time peace ✌️
One of the greatest, if not the GREATEST albums ever made.
Dizzying... No.. Nauseous... No... Trance...
Mesmerizing. That's the word you were looking for.
The greatest album, by the greatest band ever!
No
Not the greatest band..but this is the greatest album!
That's the reason you needed to ear this at once: all in a heartbeat.
This is really one of the greatest album of the 20th century.
Great reaction.
OscarWilde66 cheers London ✌️
Every Floyd album is a crazy ride!
You have to remember, this was recorded in 1972 and early 1973, and was SOOOOOOOO far ahead of it's time, it's not even funny.
It's not far ahead at all... It's completely out of time. DSTOM is simply referenced as The Album when we talk about Space Time objects. The Universe exist just for the purpose of this album. Thousands of generations died before us just to complete the Great Plan.
I forgot to mention that now we can die, and the Universe can collapse peacefully.
Timeless
Garry Iglesias you are tweaking my guy
Eyes closed, a good buzz in a dark room. Love this album. ✌️
That emotion you couldn't understand during the song Time. It's known as absolute awesomeness. 🤘👽🤘
P.S. I think you gave me your cold.
Cindy M. 😞 sorry bout your sniffles if it helps I have plenty of tissues if you need 😊 feel better Peace ✌️
@@themightyfp To be sure, it doesn't make me cry because I'm sad, it makes me cry because the whole album is so amazing. It's a beautiful compilation of musical talent. Thanks for the tissues!
It makes me so happy to see people experience Pink Floyd.
If your looking for another Pink Floyd album - Animals
Entranced is a good word to describe listening to Pink Floyd!
When you described it made you feel nauseous, think you meant Hypnotised? You're lost forever now.
I love watching you kids discover what we grew up with. My opinion is pink Floyd went a step beyond a concept album right into a sound scape.
Shit brother, took you half the album to understand, welcome to another level subbed waiting for mor floyd!
Nuno Muacho 😃 Peace ✌️ thanks for the sub
The great thing about this album is you can listen a hundred times and you'll still pull something meaningful from it.
You have made the REALEST reaction to this album, period.
You are genuine, and we Pink Floyd fans appreciate you. Much love.
😮 nicest comment I’ve gotten in quite a while thanks 😊✌️
loved the video man.. too many people just listening to one song when the album is meant to played as one song...
SUB'D
Stumbled into your reaction saw you were doing Dark Side of the Moon, grabbed my Reposado Tequila sat back and enjoyed the ride. This album never fails to evoke an emotional response as I absorb all the music, lyrics, nuances, and majesty that is DSOTM. This album, along with "Wish You Were Here" achieve the rare feat of displacing time as one listens to it. The music takes you on a journey and you wish it would never end.(the tequila is now in control). Look forward to your next Pink Floyd reaction, you're in for a helluva ride.
Jesse Lobo smile it was a fun ride. Thanks for the time peace ✌️
Love this album, absolute masterpiece of sound engineering.
im so glad you gave this a listen, a lot of the things you said about this album would be great t-shirt quotes for floyd. im glad your videos show how we can stereotype people and place people into groups who only like this music or that music like its a war and we have to fight for our genre when in reality all music is art that can be appreciated by anyone with an open mind. i hate hearing people say this song sucks, that band sucks or this music is inferior about any music even if its not to my tastes, i appreciate the thought that goes into the lyrics for rap and the effort and vocal training that goes into screamo metal even though I'm not fond of many songs in either of those genres i can still see the artists hard work and feeling behind their work. thanks for a great video
jasminejo2424 this comment should be a t shirt ✌️ my thoughts exactly
I like how honest you are about not being able to review them on first listen. Its true, you will enjoy it even more in later listens, until it becomes an old friend. Their songs age well.
Pink Floyd has a lot of variety in their albums. Pink Floyd only recently clicked with me and I've just been binging through their back catalog. I've only heard 5 pink Floyd Albums so far but I'd love a reaction to pink Floyd's album Piper at the gates of dawn
All Pink Floyds albums are fantastic.
It's crazy!
mindi mccrumb thank you 😊
Like the Bowie shirt!
ziggylove9 , Bi ziggylove9, I just got a blue guitar like bowies, and the first song I’m gonna learn to play is Queen Bitch!
Just a suggestion, you won’t regret it
There's a reason its the fourth biggest selling album of all time and still selling well.
I really liked this show. Your reaction to the music was sincere. Much of Dark Side of the Moon is what I call floaty music where, you're right, it does affect the body and mind. One could say that the album was a masterfully created piece of art. Looking forward to another album review. 🖤✌
now listen to"wish you were here" in the same way!!!
1. Speak to Me/Breathe
2. On the Run
3. Time
4. The Great Gig in the Sky
5. Money
6. Us and Them
7. Any Colour You Like
8. Brain Damage
9. Eclipse
steve fagundes That's my favorite PF album.
Im still blown away by the pure skill Pink Floyd produced whit the music, 46 years after release of this album, still other musicians don’t have a clue what they are doing 👍🏻
Now try give The Wall a listen, its more mean stream, meany may not like it, but i think its a masterpiece, not as much as this, but its freaking epic as well
Great choice and thank you for doing it.
Half way through the album you seem to have solved the 'stopping the music' issue. Don't. Just talk over it, as and when it comes to mind.
It was engineered by the great Alan Parsons
It's ok not to talk during Pink Floyd...facial expressions say it all. I loved watching you experience them. You have so much to look forward to - listen to every album - you won't be disappointed in any of them. Legends before their time.
