In the spring we use live bait because generally it works better. We did a vid last year using both smelts and spoons and caught a few salmon on spoons, ua-cam.com/video/fukuo6p0tKo/v-deo.html Also we did a brown trout vid that we could only catch them on spoons. ua-cam.com/video/Vwl4JLF_tJw/v-deo.html There is another video ( small pond for brook trout and browns) that I out fished Eric with spoons ua-cam.com/video/yXntU1jNCjw/v-deo.html We will try to get some more content out that deals with spoons. Thanks for watching Ryan.
Regina, Both can be found at most bait and tackle shops. If you want to get them online here are the links; northeasttroller.com/ ,www.maineproseries.com/product/emerald-smelt-open-water-fishing-leader/ We use #6 size hooks. Tight lines.
That really depends on how deep the fish are running and how deep we are fishing. We prefer in this case the shallower in the water column your fishing the lighter the Dodger. Before changing Dodger weights we try changing the distance behind the boat we are trolling.
