You definitely have a good mechanic.
I just did this and its true😊 I got my bottle at Oreilly auto parts.
Acura tsx with 210,000 miles,You don't have to wait till quarter tank, just use 2 bottles of cataclean before you gas up then your check engine light will go away, keep on driving for 100 miles.
Thanks
Great I idea. I have a pending the same problem on 5k miles trips
I need to try this ... I have the same issue in my 2012 Acura RL
Great video thank you very much!
Thanks for the video very helpful
Glad it helped.
Strange you have 91 & 93 octane in the US. In the UK our lowest is 95 !
Wow that’s like aviation fuel. Must be why all my European cars require premium fuel in th States, that’s like low octane over there.
@@RnWSolutions not really. They use a different rating. So 90 here is 95 there.
Thanks will try it
Did it work?
Having this issue on my Dodge Nitro R/T 4.0L. I used cataclean as instructed but it’s still there? I heard some people used two bottles so maybe I’ll try that
Yes I used 2 bottles in another vehicle but still ended up just being an O2 sensor not the cat.
RnW Solutions I ran a scanner so I know it’s my cat for sure just hoping I don’t have to replace the whole thing
@@H1storybr3akdown if it's p0420 code you can't be sure it's catalytic converter. It might be second oxygen sensor.
Did the check engine light come back on for that same issue?
No, I drove it for probably another couple thousand miles before it sold (I buy cars I like, fix them best I can, drive them for a while, and sell them inexpensive).
I wonder if that’s true for Acura TL type S a 2008 really tht the converter doesn’t need to be replaced for 300k miles can anyone help???? Mine has around the same miles as his 180-185k
The mechanic who told me that said there could be extenuating circumstances that cause the converter to go bad such as burning oil or bad spark plugs that don't ignite causing unburned fuel to go out the exhaust, otherwise I would say yes.
CEL still off?
Light came back on so I used another bottle and it went off again. Might be something I have to keep doing or replace the converter.
@@RnWSolutions Ok thanks
SeaFoam is great
Any other symtom on your car ?
We sold it about a month later (I'm a car dealer, I drive them for a while and sell them when everything is fixed), but we had no other symptoms with the car.
Its not a cadillac conveter, its a catalytic converter
How did it hold up after this?
About a month later light came back on, so it is a temporary fix for sure.
Still issue? Heard lacquer thinner is better?
Is it still working (after your 2nd bottle)? or did the P0420 return?
Not sure, I sold the car to a friend about 3000 miles after this and still no lights then.
@@RnWSolutions awesome, buying it now
Do I need to put all 3 or I can get the catacleaner by itself
What is the exact name of the bottle ?
CataClean
What about the AFS lights?
The Active Front Headlight System light warning (AFS) just means your headlights don't turn with the steering anymore, not a big deal, not sure if there is s simple fix.
what name bottle fluid?
Cataclean
My car only has 71k, i hope it just needs cleaned, the whole converter isnt covered in my warranty
Another issue coupd be O2 sensors which are much less expensive than the converter, therer is one before and one after each, and check the efficiency of the catalytic converter
The muffler shop is too far away.
I got the same issue I got a RL o6
What did you do to solve problem?
Get it fix better cuz you can have issues later with the engine
I was told if the cats were really bad the engine would hesitate, but if engine is running fine its most likely dirty or dirty O2 sensors which this is supposed to address,
