I get goosebumps every time is walk in AFH. It really is a special place. So much history. No frills. Incredibly loud. Great, high basketball IQ fans who respect the game. No better place to watch a college basketball game. Yes, of course I'm biased. I grew up just a few miles from there. Too bad the home team didn't show up...... Whew! What a beatdown from start to finish. UK brought their A game. KU looked like they partied all night prior to the game. Good game Kentucky fans! Wish we could have given you and the fans their money's worth. Given the end result of the season, I'll take it as a turning point/wake up call game.

well said Mike - would've liked to avoid the embarrassment on our home floor, but what a way to end up the season!!

All sports. No more YANKEE stadium, no more Boston Garden. The only venues comparable are Wrigley and Fenway.

Truly amazing a program like KU hasn't bowed to the financial pressure to change the stadium.
they are leaving millions on the table to pay homage to the history

Really awesome comments by Coach Cal. I know he and Self admire one another a lot. It's crazy, they both won a National Championship against each other. BBN really wiped the floor with us. Your bigs (especially Tshiebwe) are just a terrible matchup for us this year. I remember his 2020 season and as a FRESHMAN at WVU, he was the only guy who could guard Udoka Azubuike at all. And your guards are the best in America yet again. I love the way he describes the Phog. But Rupp is a BEAUTIFUL arena. I've been to a lot of historic places, but not to a Kentucky home game. Maybe I'll make the trek next time Kansas goes to Rupp...and here's to hoping we can give you a challenge next time! Good luck on the rest of your season!

Rupp is great for big games but the PHOG is by far the toughest place to play. At Rupp our students are behind one basket. The rest of the lower arena are known as blue hairs. Basically rich old people. You guys have students everywhere and the sound is insane. Congrats on the title. Injuries doomed us.

    • @twoquickii1330

@@26michaeluk Cheers! Thanks for the congrats! Agreed, it's better to prioritize students behind both baskets and close to the floor. I still need to visit Rupp. I love the way your banners are designed, with the "NCAA Champions/Final Four" banners having cascading lettering. Very cool!

That building is historical I know just the feeling he's talking about THE PHOG is what I call her n I've had the pleasure of experiencing that a few times that Arena will have u forgetting anything else outside of it doesn't exist at that moment not to many opponents can deal with that type energy that's why we rarely n barely lose n that Arena I've been a fan of the JAYHAWKS since I was 9 years old now n my late 40's n I am a KU FANATIC..THIS IS WHERE IT ALL STARTED AND THIS IS WHY WE HAVE MORE WINS THAN ANY OTHER ALUMNI N COLLEGE WE DEFEND ALLEN FIELDHOUSE WIT PRIDE..n salute to Coach for telling the GOD HONEST TRUTH about that backyard it trembles n that Arena that's why whenever a team gets the best of us n there they feel like they won the tournament because of how hard it is to accomplish that to which is rarely do we lose n that Arena I feel like this about my JAYHAWKS if BILL SELF is showing u interest u should be very interested..now ROCK CHALK 😊

We just smoked Kansas at the Phog and are a legit title contender. We'd have done the Same at Auburn and LSU had we not lost our starting backcourt both games. Oh and since he's been at Kentucky he's won more games, more tournament games and been to more final fours than any other coach. UMass welcomed him back and Memphis did until their fans started crying.

What a disgustingly disingenuous thing to say. Literally, every year, he gets a whole new group of guys (through no fault of his own) and has to rebuild them and their chemistry every year for an NCAA Tournament run. He leaves it up to the players to do what they want with their lives, whether to stay or leave, and if you see that as a problem, then that’s a testament to your character. Why wouldn’t he recruit the best players he can get? How ungrateful.

“Calipari has coached Kentucky to four Final Fours, in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015. He also led UMass and Memphis to the Final Four in 1996 and 2008 respectively; those appearances were later vacated, though Calipari was cleared of wrongdoing in both cases.[2] As a college coach, Calipari has twenty-six 20-win seasons, eleven 30-win seasons, and five 35-win seasons.
As of January 29th, 2022, with 759 official wins, Calipari ranks 17th on the NCAA Division I all-time winningest coaches list.”

As a Kansas fan...and after BBN just HUMILIATED US...please don't think all KU fans are like this. My goodness, what a horrible comment. Calipari is a Hall of Famer, and as a poster commented above...he deals with more roster turnover than ANYONE in the country. Physical Education teachers don't deal with with as much. The way he whips them into shape by late Feb and March is nothing less than astounding. You guys played fantastic! Here's hoping that we can give you some competition next time! Good luck the rest of the season.
