I've been living in Copenhagen for 57 years so here's my two cents: yes, it's expensive but the further away you move from the city centre, the less expensive it is. Consider spending more than one day and visit some of the museums -they are all situated within walking distance.

    • @AdventuresofAplusK

That makes sense. We'd love to spend more time in Copenhagen and Denmark. Unfortunately we had limited time on this trip, but one day we certainly will explore it properly!

it depends on where in Europe you are, houses are not colorful in all European countries, and in some countries it's only in a few cities, in Denmark it's pretty much all cities, although we have cities in Northern Jutland were all houses are yellow , and the modern parts tend not to be colorful sadly

13:25 That's not a former insineration plant. It's one of the newest, most modern, clean burning plants, in the world. It was built like that, with the skee slope and the highest climbing wall in the world on the outside. It was designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, who also designed that WT tower, that was approved, never built. They also designed the now famous VIA 57 West resident building, in New York.

That purple stuff ontop of the pork, is pickled red cabbage, called "rødkål" in danish, that usually contains warm spices,. The fancier the cabbage, the more spices you will find in it. Spices typically used are cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice (I think Allehånde translates to), Star anis, Cardamom and bayberry leaves. The pickle itself is usually 1 equal measures of water, sugar and vinegar each.

If you ever go back to Copenhagen you should go see The Little Mermaid statue, which is within walking distance from the areas that you visited in this video. Sure, it's a bit cliché, perhaps, and it is a tiny statue, but it's considered one of the landmarks in the city. Also there is the in-town hippie village known as Christiania.

You didn't show the Little Mermaid statue, but right behind it is a dock area (Langlenie, or something like that). Denmark has one of the highest standards of living throughout Europe, and along with that, the highest cost of living, save for Norway. There are many Swedes who live in Malmo but take the Oresund bridge that connects with Copenhagen. They can earn higher wages working in Denmark, which go further by living in Sweden. During your day in Malmo, I hope you have time to check out the Turning Torso high-rise, designed by the Catalonian architect Santiago Calatrava. Standing at 190 metres, it's one of the tallest buildings in Scandinavia.

The best hotdog van in Copenhagen should be (I've never tried it!) John's Hotdog Deli just outside Copenhagen Central Station (At the exit towards Tivoli!).
BTW for a historical view over the development of Copenhagen, then visit Museum of Copenhagen. They have stuff from the stone age until today. I'e. The parks so rounding the old medieval city centre is actually part of the old moat and ramparts of Copenhagen! Tivoli is one of the examples! Tivoli was the first thing allowed to be build just outside the city ramparts in 1843 (Which makes Tivoli the third oldest amusement park in the world ... hello, Dane here... i used to eat ryebread, every single day, but last year, on the 6th of October, something happened to my body, and my stomach hurt like never before, was at the hospital a few times, and at my doc even more, but since i didnt know what the reason was, coz it was not every time i ate, so i kept eating it, for 4.5 month, not knowing, that i was basically poisoning myself, and only found out it was the bread, after 2 days where i didnt eat it, coz there was none at the store, so i bought some wheat buns that i are for 2 days, day 3 was SUPER bad weather, so i ordered a pizza, and for those 3 days, i was ok, which was my big clue... I WANNA EAT RYE BREAD!!! but i cant anymore..... PS: the chocolate milk u got with the hotdog, is "all wrong", u want the Cocio, which was first made in Denmark, in 1951, and only has 3 high quality ingredients in it, which is milk, sugar, and cocoa...
