All the comments from people slating the driver I’m guessing you drive nothing larger than a car. Until you actually have an HGV license and can competently drive one I think you all should reserve your sarcastic comments.
Big Rigger, Bridgnorth actually has well signed weight limits and a truck this size should not be in Bridgnorth town centre. And i do drive larger than a car, i hold an artic licence.
robert till Yes I have a class 1 also ,it just aggravates me when some people comment on things and they don’t have a clue or see it from the drivers perspective.
@@bigrigger3762 I do agree with how you feel, but in this case the idiot just should not have been there, and does nothing for truck driver relations with the wider public.
The driver clearly takes good care of his truck - it's well presented so he is clearly a professional. We have all made the odd mistake so give us HGV drivers some slack please. In any case he may not have had much choice if a delivery had to be made. All these people who complain about the size/weight of HGV's all want their goods delivered cheaply so that's how logistics work. Howevr, no-one mentions the Peugeot Partner van clearly NOT loading/unloading parked in the loading bay (did the driver of that get a taxi to the payment ?) - may, just may have given the wagon & dray a bit moree room. To all those HGV haters out there "if you hate HGV's & drivers that much stop buying suff".
Anyone tried getting an artic down market st in ludlow, that made good spectator sport, did'nt get there by accident, doing work on an old building and the builders needed a 44 tonner to get all the huge airbags out. Doesnt half pucker your arse up when you have overhanging buildings on both sides about 2 inches of each corner.
I've had a round of applause before when getting out of tight spaces nothing like a badly planned run or dodgy sat nav to get the arse cheeks twitching.
Put all car drivers in an HGV down a narrow street and tell them to get out of that situation without any incident. They would soon have a different perspective of HGVs then.
Your comment conveniently ignores the fact that there are signs at the start of New road (which leads to the road in question) indicating a 7.5 tonne weight limit through the town and additional signs indicating the correct route HGV's and PCV's should take around the centre of the town - and they've been in place for many, many years. The driver found himself in a situation of his own making, through his own lack of awareness and skill. He and his company should be on the receiving end of a very hefty fine (and one can guarantee that had they have been British, they would have been!).
@@annegrey-blackman5934 I agree it's the driver who ultimately got himself in this situation by lack of forward planning (and lack of English as seems apparent). A brief description about what happened could be in the description box. I can't see any 7.5t weight limit signs in the video so in essence I didn't conveniently ignore that fact. @cjeam why?!? He is a foreigner, so he doesn't know the way there. He is just following his satnav. And he steered the truck through there without a problem.
The driver didn’t follow the road signs, because they went the wrong way down a one-way street, and “We told him to turn back and reverse in the car park and he said he didn't understand. We tried to gesture and he didn't listen and he got stuck for hours.” Not following road signs and causing an obstruction and damage to a building is why he deserves a fine.
