- Renault’s hot hatch hero takes a final bow, as the French car-maker draws the curtain on Megane RS production 👉 Full Review: www.carsales.com.au/editorial...
For enthusiasts of the hot hatch genre, the Renault Megane RS is part of the Holy Grail.
Sharing the limelight with the likes of the Honda Civic Type R, Volkswagen Golf GTI and, more recently, the Hyundai i30N, this French hot hatch has been a symbol of everyday front-drive performance for decades. But that is soon about to end.
Renault has called time on the Megane RS, together with its entire Renault Sport portfolio. Before then, we have the limited-edition 2023 Renault Megane RS Ultime to send off decades of fine French hatchbacks. Sam Charlwood hit road and circuit to see whether it’s a fitting farewell.

Love the Megane RS and so sad to see it go...Still, I have the RS 280 Cup which has never missed a beat... and will probably pick up the Ultime but one way or another I will keep an RS Megane as long as I can...The handling is immense and it is just so fun to push...thanks for the review..
I don’t get the music in the background of the video… just weird…
Btw, the Trophy-R version doesn't actually have hydraulic bump stops or rear wheel steer like you stated.
I´m lucky enough to have an ultimate, I´ll keep it for as long as possible 💛
Ulti-May In Oz or in French pronunciation is it ul-teem? Very sad day for hot hatches and makes the early series 4 or series 3 RS265 appear to be a bargain although most are now ageing at almost 10 years old for facelift version.
As a former 172 Cleo owner, I'm sorry to see the RS moniker going...
Wich tyres does this megane have?
Amazing car to drive. Little too much on price
I have one. Like u said, i wish they have added Akra exhaust and bumped it like 20 extra bhps. Would have been more happy with it on straights. But that's another plan for tuning ;)
70+k ? Good god! Charlie Brown not even snoopy would have this 😂
Who doesn't like paying for those stickers😅.
Here is South Africa we secured only 55 units of these
I love my RS! The woman can go, the car stays! 😊
Journalists drive this car for a few hours, then complain about 4ws adding a layer of complexity and intervention. Its not turning at some random degree to the front, its a fixed ratio that will be predictable, you will get used to it.
Vale,
Peugeot Sport
Renault Sport
And it costs more than the 2023 FL5 type R 😂
No
much better than I30N
I don’t think so !!
Megane rs has better chassis and more agility in cornering, more hardcore in terms of overall driving experience.
Ru sure😅😅😅
@@alexanderchiang6801 100 percent I owned i30N before switching to Megane rs
Costs $20k more than i30 N 😁
What a shame😢
Rs will now be ugly Evs... Yay
