The acting of the captains is actually so good
Kylo Ren Exactly!!!
Hold up is that the guy that played as Marty in back to the future
Bronyman9000 omg I didn’t even- 😂
Haha okay but this ride would have been SO FUN to be the captain for omg
He's got a nice Sonic the Hedgehog accent
Honestly John was the best skipper. Had the pleasure of riding a few times on his boat one day. God I miss this ride so much 😓
Amity 6 Productions I’ve never been on it and I never will but I wish I got to go on this it looks so much fun!
I went on it twice before it closed. Both times I had female skippers that screamed too much and talked waaaay too fast. One had an annoying high pitch screaming voice lol I would’ve preferred this guy.
I wouldn't mind riding his boat.
Same dude! He’s a great guy it’s shame the ride closed...
@@zack_studioz2287 good news it’s still in Japan sad thing is no more john
It’s impressive how the skippers manage to time the shots correctly with the water jets. These guys don’t get enough credit for their acting and cues.
Yesss
I found a video of a Skipper who was late for the first jet by a few seconds. He still sold it though.
Their credit is keeping their job they don't time it they get fired believe that
That’s true a lot of training
@@chapingaryjr whatever. Having worked at an amusement park I can vouch for parks being extremely strict with providing a quality experience every time, but I don’t buy that. Not like they have someone who’s job it is to analyze if their timing is right or not, lol.
The Boathouse is SO CREEPY with no one in it
Even scarier knowing the animatronic is just sitting there underwater but you can’t see it 😳
Sydney O'Bier AHH! Yes so true! 🤣 Animatronic underwater sharks are scarier to me than actual real sharks lmao 🚫⚙️🦈
Bert Sonder LMAO reading that actually made me cringe bwaha that’s so scary to think about. Actual worst fear right there 🤣

Is it just me or would you be terrified to swim in that with all the machines under you
Myrna Hamilton SAMEEE
Brooo, I always think like I'll actually accidentally fall in and you just get that sense of anxiety and paranoia
Things like that always spooked me too at any place that had any form of hidden animatronic.. I always say that it would be kool to work at a place that brings entertainment... But please dear lord dont have me try to fix a bug in the systems or clean a specific area around the animatronic cuz they're still freaky... Also there are ghost stories where workers are closing the rides for the night and things happening like hearing stuff go down, or having their co-worker report that they seen someone following behind them, and having animatronics around doesn't exactly ease the mind, as they can be even creepier when off.
Yup
likeee I think about this all the time and it freaks me out!
Imagine jumping in that water still with fake jaws
Kevin Figueroa and then the last thing you see is a creepy animatronic shark before being grinding by the mechanics below you
Troppie the story literally haunts me
Some guy fell in there once and the fake shark came at him , at the first attempt to get him out the he slipped after trying to grab workers hands 😖
@@gemmagrundy5339 i feel bad for laughing 😂🤧
Kurt Nathan TUAZON it was probably his own dumbass fault
Imagine putting your heart and soul into the act and nobody screams or saying anything
Welcome to acting and live theater. This happens a lot, but you have to keep going no matter what
Can we make a petition to open another jaws ride?
can we get a petition to remake jaws? we have waaaaay better ch and tech but have donations made to protect great whites and other sharks?
Count me in
go to japan,
I'm too lazy
I would love if they remade it I never got to ride it
They just have the prop hanging by the deck
I've always been fascinated by the reset of a room on attractions. I always turn my head back to see things move back into place. :)
me too Keishen Lloyd, especially the mini boats and tanks are on machines much like a garage door type mechanism.
Same here!
I saw it at Disneyland when I did Snow White I saw the witch go back in its reset position
cool to see how the interior of the boathouse just resets when the boat exits on the other side. would love to see the animatronic shark idling underwater.
OMM 0910 the thought of that give me chills. Idk why I hate the idea of being underwater with a fake shark 😂
@@Commanderfox945 you may have a touch of submechanophobia. It is much more common than one would think. The fear of the unknown is part of our nature.
I swear I won't ever swim in those waters.if i fell in those waters when it still existed. And my feet brushed past the shark. I swear I'm screaming so hard

And I’ll never get the chance to ride this 😔
Nathan Slay there’s always the one in Japan
Dippy it’s very expensive to go there.
Tru
Nathan Slay oh come on, thats expensive if you pay it, if not then its free, jump in the water and swim thats free i guess
@@bertsonder He can't risk that as the animatronic shark might get him.
Imagine you accidentally fall into the water full with machines....
I would still have a panic attack
Mr Otaku Actually a man did , i believe that’s why they shut it down!
Monica Cashmere That’s so weird I literally just read about it ! :) the man actually fell into the ride in 1990... this is when the ride was actually still very underdeveloped and still required a lot of work as it kept having technical difficulties. They shut the ride with jt only being opened for 3 months. They opened it up again 3 years later (1993)with a remodelled ride :)
Mr Otaku ITS SO SCARY TO THINK ABOUT 😭😭
They were rumored to have actual shark teeth on them and you could’ve gotten killed
Mr Otaku that’s why it closed down. A guy jumped in and sued the ride
Not sure when universal thought it was a good idea to bank on 3D tram rides when we had mechanical marvels such as jaws and original King Kong. I find myself enjoying the ride cues more then the actual 3-D imagery that they call a ride.
I wish I had a chance for my kids to ride jaws they would truly be shocked & Terrified by a real objective chasing them. Maybe In the short future we wouldn’t even need to leave our homes to visit theme parks. You would just need a really good VR head set and your mom and dad shaking your chair when jaws takes a bite out of you.
Robert G.wreck just go to universal Japan they still have it for some reason lol
I believe it’s because it costs waaaaaay more money to maintain those animatronic rides, especially jaws with all the water
@@Geolgyu this is correct.
Anything in water over a long period of time needs a lot of upkeep. The cost of keeping all that stuff in water was too high.
Furthermore for those saying they wanted to jump in that water. New that is not normal water but stagnant, chemical filled water. Not something you want to be exposed to for any period of time.
They are technological marvels of rides but you do have to remember that due the the various mechanical nature of all of them they often broke down costing a fortune
Btw kong didn't get closed down but was burned down so if it didn't burn down I'm sure it would of lasted a fair bit longer before being shut down and replaced
Yeah, 3D/4D rides are cool and all but I would still much rather get on rides like Jaws. I remember being in Highschool and those 4D rides were just starting to come out. Most people didn't even notice them because they were kinda hard to see. They would be built between shops and they would have only like one door to enter and the name of the ride above it. Never had lines.
Watching the “animatronics” reset is so fackin cool, I love it.
I mean the boathouse scene actually. The boats pulling back up out of the water. The shark resetting.
This guy was the best! I remember him when I was a kid! Legit he is who comes to mind when I think of that ride. The actor.
The acting, is fantastic
3:28 This is Anxiety in physical form...in a dark lit room, knowing theres something under water waiting to plunge at you....but you cant see it.
Your in the boat house, the rides been closed for 20 years. The water is black, and you know the giant mechanical jaws is in there....when suddenly, someone pushes you in. Imagine the feeling as your body dips into the cold, black water. You don’t know where the rotting, rusty jaws is, and you are expecting it to jump out and eat you as you fall into the water. You fall deep into the water, seeing wires, rusty tracks & debris......then you see it......
Thanks for giving me nightmares for about a week.
Near the end they made the boat house seem more Like a horror movie than the Jaws ride.
Yeah imagine if Michael Myers was in there
what if somebody really puts a real shark in there ...
dina dawson there dead xd
Good question
@@CamilaThe the shark or the person who put the shark there? Because I doubt the shark would live.
It would be less scary in my opinion that the robots BAHAHAHA
Kitty Kate bruh
I rode this when I was a kid. I cried. And refused to go on it again. But after a while of watching videos of the ride on UA-cam I felt like my fear of the ride was gone. I watched videos of the ride so often that when me and my family would go to Camel Beach (a waterpark that I used to go to every summer when I was younger) I would go into the lazy river and pretend to be a skipper on the ride.
Now I'm feeling nostalgic thinking of when I would do it. But unfortunately, I never got to go to Universal again to ride it before it closed. (I didn't get to go to Universal again until my senior year in 2018 with my chorus and band to perform there.)
Imagine being a security guard at night and you see something and you go check it out, and once in the boat house alone with 2 cameras there watching you, only for you to realise there isn't anything there. And after you turn around the animatronic shark comes up and grabs you by the leg and drags you down and devour you.
No thank you
You know as fake as that shark is that scenario you just described is utterly terrifying that Boathouse was fucking creepy without the shark moving around just with the shit creaking and moving back and forth
The guy that played the skipper in this one deserves to be in movies! He's dang good
That's acting with audience on location. Theme park power!!!
Do you have any underwater shots of the ride?

That actor deserves an award! Definitely wasn’t the captain of my boat 😂
3:18-3:35 it's interesting how you were able to shoot inside the boathouse without being there, how was that done?
That's from the theme park. It has the secret cameras.

Awesome Videos ok but how
It’s either official, or they requested generic footage of the inside of the boathouse for educational purpose
I remember waiting in line for this ride for 4 hours when it opened as a child. Great ride!!
It’s annoying that when they advertise Universal they still show Jaws for some reason. That’s like showing Back to the Future.
It's Marty as captain
I seriously wish they still had this in Orlando
I was five when I first went on this ride it still scares the crap out of me.
This is a classic ride. I loved it
I am glad I had the privilege of riding this when I was a kid back in the late 90s early 2000s so terrifying! gutted that my kids won't have the same pleasure.

Last time we were stuck in the boat house our boat was terrorized by an evil clown.

I really miss that ride! It was one of my favorites. Everytime i went, i always made sure we rode it!
The boathouse scene is filmed so beautifully and lovingly. Ugh
never a dull moment...IN THE BOATHOUSE!
3:27 that part is scary
Why?
I did this ride when I was very young. Maybe 6 or 7 at the latest. So I barely remember the ride. Cool watching this
I rode this as a child and honestly was terrified! But once I got older loved it since my sister hated it hehehe. It's sad how they took this out! I remember how sad my dad was. He loved the original
Where is the diving footage shown at the beginning where you see the Jaws machinery?
Idk
It’s from one of the Jaws movies I agree it’s click bait but the photo itself is most likely from Jaws 4 (don’t recommend watching that it’s garbage, stick with the first movie)
When this ever comes back I'm going to wear my Jaws hat on this ride
Bloody love Jaws although I've been terrified of the sea my entire life because of it 🤣 Guide was great. Fantastic attraction.
I've never been on the jaws ride but it looks so scary. The acting from the captain's is really great
This is 1 MILLION times better than The Jaws “ride” in Hollywood..
thanks for keeping JAWS alive. I would love to see all the of the backstage stuff.
Lord Eggy would you meet the sharks?
This is somehow the coolest and also most terrifying thing I have ever seen
Was gutted they got rid of this ride. So glad I got to go on it
Its almost more terrifying when no one is in the boathouse.
Scarier
I was waiting for a jump scare when the boat left 😂😂😂
And there wasn't XD
So glad that I got to experience this ride before it closed down. I miss it :(
This is really unsettling and creative editing.
Haha, Oh John... Still finding ways to do your tour almost a year later. I envy you, sir.

Exactly that's what I want

Everyone go watch the jaws ride with skipper kayla she was hilarious and damn good actress
They should reopen this
Don't go to universal much (only went for hhn) but isn't the whole lake gone/replaced by something else.
They'd have to rebuild it
@@october1634 I thought it was Harry potter that they replaced jaws with
Yeah they decided to expand the whole Harry Potter thing and link hogwarts in islands of adventure to the main universal park with the train from the movies and using screens to create the illusion of going from London to the wizarding school
3 Things I took from this video:
1.) Hearing The skippers voice echoe outside as the boat was leaving was pretty cool. Never got that perspective of it obviously because nobody ever stayed behind in the boathouse. Sounded like a live show or something.
2.) The fear really sets in once the doors close. Don't get me wrong its already scary, but the darkness opens the door for nightmare fuel. The outside light doesn't really show you how much danger you're in.
3.) This video didnt show it, but If I EVER saw that fucking animatronic shark swimming BACKWARDS under the water back into place in the DARKNESS? Plan my funeral asap because thats immensely terrifying.
The creaking noise and music gave me the chills!
