Love your cactus garden! When you water cactus, do you completely saturate the soil or just give it a tiny drink? If you bottom water, how long will you leave water in the tray before dumping it out?
hello. you need to learn more about cacti. i will sumarize for you a few things. at first the winter growth should not exist. cacti should hybernate during winter. no water from november to end of march,kept in a cool place(5-10 degrees). that way they dont grow. if you water them and they grow they will etiolate. they will lack light. in the summer they need high amount of light. also when you repot from store bought substrate you need to clear all substrate from roots,let them callous for a few days and then repot. no water for a week or more. that is the right way to make them happy. and they wont grow that elongated and funky :))
also substrate should be at least 2/3 parts non organic(vulcanic rocks,even pon works great or all the rocks in it if you find them cheaper,sand and so on ) and around 1/3 parts organic substrate.

Hello Svetlana! Love your new fairy garden design 🌵🏜️ it turned out cute 🥰 hey as far as Yakari-it’s somewhat common in German shepherds to get pancreatitis -by what you described and his breed, seems like it’s a high possibility…it’s treatable by diet changes, low fat foods, etc…but you can also give him pancreatic/digestive enzymes (if he’s not on them already)I’m a vet tech (nurse) in the States and it’s generally what we see with them. Definitely get all his test results but it wouldn’t hurt to supplement him (can get online) if the vet doesn’t prescribe it! 🐕 you can always ask me any questions if you want!! Hopefully it’s all good ❤take care -can’t wait to see some more pot painting creations 💕🌿🐾

Love fairy gardens. They can be expensive to buy however they lack personal touch. You might use tongs to handle cactus ( that translates )

Spiders and scorpions would have been better for that scenery. Your statuary represents animals from Madagascar and Africa, where there is mostly dried grasses and shrubs.

Brrr, owning a dog would be the only reason I’d be out in that weather. At least it doesn’t get that cold here in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. They are taking about a cold spell coming on but will be clear down to 40 degrees tops next week. You’d trade weather with me right now.

Days like that are exactly why I love houseplants here in Canada. Our growing season outside hardly seems worth it so I’d rather have an indoor garden! Bonus - any bugs in the soil amendments you have on the balcony are now good and dead. 😂

Those cactus look awesome together!🌵🌵 That's one of the great things with cactus, they grow slow mostly so work great in fairy gardens or potting arrangements. Sorry to hear about Yakari, I hope it turns out to be nothing serious. Vets here are so so expensive, my son's kitty had an ear infection and of course they say should do this test and that test to be sure its not something else then before you know it, he has over $1,000 in vet bills, its crazy! Brr -28 is cold for sure, I bet even the cars don't want to start 🥶 Hope you had great holidays!!

The roots are so shallow and hat if you don’t top water at least once the water won’t move up that much when it’s this day as it is.
