    By far the coolest build I've seen for one these boxes. Simple but elegant, with alot of cool touches .

    That trick for eliminating snipe is so obvious but so genius! I've never thought of it and I haven't seen it anywhere else

      I seriously never considered that to eliminate snipe in a planer! I can't wait to try it.

    • @parillaworks
      @parillaworks  7 років тому

      Thanks Collin! I usually don't use that trick because I can afford to have a few extra inches of material to cut off. But with this wood was to expensive for that. Thanks for your comment!

    HHAHA this guy's commantary is on point! "Here is me pretending to hold a peice of lumber", "you could use paint or a crayon" and the entire time he sounds high af. VERY entertaining.

    Great little box! Not sure if you've tried this before but with the fostner bit and your drill press you can do many overlapping holes and get rid of a lot of those little triangles as you call them. They make some very small barrel hinges that you might try on the next one. It might allow you to mount two hinges to stop it from racking. Try searching pen box hinges. I enjoy the pace of your videos and the great stills at the end.

    • @parillaworks
      @parillaworks  7 років тому

      Thanks for the great comment Tom. Pretty helpful tip with the forester bit. You know, I've tried those tiny barrel hinges and had such a hard time installing them let alone finding a drill bit that actually matched the diameter. I think I tried every increment of 64th of an inch as well as millimeters and still couldn't get a nice snug fit. Anyway, maybe I'll give them another shot one day. Thanks again for the comment.

    • @AaronReynolds89
      @AaronReynolds89 6 років тому

      Just found this, have you looked at "letter gauge drill bit sizes"? A lot of kits will require a letter sized bit which actually exist between the metric and 1/64 increments. Gauge:A Inches:0.234 Metric (mm):5.944

  • @ComicClub01
    @ComicClub01 7 років тому

    Just discover your Vids, Great work Man.
    But it seems to be difficult to get the ring out of the Box. Holding between two layers of Felt .
    You have always to "shoot" him out, or shake the Ring out of the Box

    • @benmcgreevy5950
      @benmcgreevy5950 7 років тому

      ComicClub01 what are you talking about? Why would you shoot the ring? Haha

    • @ComicClub01
      @ComicClub01 7 років тому

      The Box is way deeper than a ring. The groove is so smal that the Ring will not fall around and is hold between the layers of Felt. But when you push the Ring totally into the Box, you cant touch him, nomore ? so you have to shake the Box, or tap it (Like Cigarette Boxes) to make "shoot" the Ring out of the Box.
      Maybe I m in Error, but that was what I was thinking about first.

    • @MarkHanford
      @MarkHanford 7 років тому

      The solution is simply to not push the ring totally into the box.

    • @parillaworks
      @parillaworks  7 років тому +1

      Sorry I didn't answer your question earlier. The holes are only an inch or so deep, maybe less. The ring would bottom out before the stone is fully "submerged."

  • @doublebulbing
    @doublebulbing 7 років тому

    do you have the infeed and outfeed tables for the 735 planer they would not have helped with the small pieces but normally when people complain about snipe on that planer they we doing longer pieces and not using infeed of outfeed tables

    • @parillaworks
      @parillaworks  7 років тому

      Good call. Ya I've been meaning to buy those attachments but haven't gotten around to it. In the back of my head I'm hoping a big floor standing planer pops up on craigslist for me to snag.

    • @doublebulbing
      @doublebulbing 7 років тому

      well the 735 is a great machine if you are stuck on 120 volts like I am but if you have 240 then yea watching the used market and buying something bigger is probally the smart thing to do
      You could always make wood one for the dewalt but why when the DW7351's are 43.64 shipped ply wood would cost about that to build something
      The good thing is they pop on and off easy so if you need the space savings they are great not being fixed like my drum sander extensions that bug the hell out of me my 16/32 sander that thing takes up way too much room
