The only thing about this method if you are only taking .25ML, .50 ML or 1ML, most of syringe will go to waste. You must never use the same needle twice bc you may get an infection. Any remaining medication has to be discarded.
@@maxtheknife It is EXTREMELY unlikely to get an infection from reusing YOUR OWN syringe, especially if you follow common-sense hygiene and replace the cap right after injecting. Don't trust me, look into it yourself. ((Here's another shocker for you: you don't even have to use alcohol wipes as long as the skin is visibly clean. The whole prepping thing--even in healthcare settings--is basically theatre for the patient's comfort; it's been shown that it does not prevent infection.)) The only downside to reusing an insulin syringe is the needle tip will be slightly duller the second/third time, which can theoretically make subsequent injections less comfortable if you're super sensitive to poking. Either way, absolutely DO NOT WASTE the remaining amount! Replace the cap and refrigerate in the box! If you're really concerned about reusing the needle, squirt the liquid into a new syringe for next week using the same method.
When you fit the pen onto the syringe and then inject, where does the air from the syringe go? I might use the needle on the pen to inject into the syringe, too worried the air will want to come out the insulin syringe needle together with the expensive medication. 😬
you know that you can get the air out of a syringe right? you just have to wait till the bubble settles, turn the syringe around with the white pusher and just kick slowly with two fingers till the air in the syringe comes to top and you get it out
Problem with this method is there is a lot of air left in the syringe so if you are injecting .25, .50 or 1 mg, you may not get the full dosage due to the air. Not to mention you are wasting a huge amount of medication. Its horrible Novo wont make the starter doses more widely available to keep people from resorting to this method to get the lower doses. They are full of baloney when they say they didnt expect such overwhelming demand for a weight loss medication.

Yeess 😅 Thanks for this video as I will be starting my journey today but due to the shortage I will be having to adjust my dosage
How did you go about storing the rest of the insulin after injecting your dosage? Did you just leave it in the syringe?
Same question.

Genius

The air cant be avoided with this method.

Go for something that’s a little wider than these 100 unit insulin syringes; getting rid of the bubbles is annoying. I think a 2ml would be ideal.
