Mandatory evacuation means that if something bad happens, if y'all get hurt or stuck without resources, the state is *not* coming for you. They do not respond to emergency calls in mandatory evacuation zones, because they told y'all to get out and y'all didn't listen. Water, power, gas, all of it is going to be down for god knows how long. There will be debris and disgusting, dirty, dangerous water (the sewers will back-up, don't forget), live power lines, maybe gas leaks. Maybe dangerous animals. I pray y'all stay safe and I really hope your parents grasp how serious this is. Better to leave and be annoyed and safe than to risk death by staying.

Category 1= Hurricane Party in a safe building. Category 2= Seriously consider evacuating. Category 3= Prepare to evacuate if ordered. Category 4= Evacuate even before evacuation order. Category 5= RUN.
A few things to consider if driving in bad weather/potential floods, take enough water, ready to eat food and medication for 2 days in case you get stranded. A small knife/multitool at hand for cutting seatbelts and breaking windows. $$$ & ID.

What a blessing to have warning and be prepared. So many in the past had no warning. Evacuation centers usually do not allow animals/pets so be prepared to care for your fur babies and reptiles on your own. Animal shelters fill up fast so call ahead of time and see if they are willing to take your pet in temporarily while you are at an evacuation center. At 3:46 on, what did he mean by executive order to move people out of the way and by what means??? What people is he referring too and aren't those the ones trying to flee? Who is he making room for???
He’s simply referring to clearing/ alleviating some regular/ local traffic in the more inland areas to make travel easier/ less congested for the large numbers evacuating. For instance in non- evacuation zones they may close some highway entrances to prevent local traffic from adding to the evacuation traffic. The executive order he referenced most likely simply allows for the appropriate people, ie police, highway/ transportation management, etc, to make these types of decisions as needed without the same process, aka red tape, that would generally be required. Hope that helps to clarify a bit!
I don't know much spelling in sign language but I could tell when the interpreter was spelling "Matthew". Far as I know all or most names have to be spelled out letter by letter. She's fast as lightning! She has to be, and probably has practiced a lot, but still. Anyway, I hope the people down there will be safe. Thinking of them! I hope any pets will be safe too. Animals almost always get displaced after storms and some storm shelters don't allow pets.

Praying for you and all who are alone in this battle. I am alone in a large family, Being the "odd one out" is so very lonely. My only friend and listening ear is Jesus Christ. He's my only hope.

Category 1= Hurricane Party in a safe building.
Category 2= Seriously consider evacuating.
Category 3= Prepare to evacuate if ordered.
Category 4= Evacuate even before evacuation order.
Category 5= RUN.
A few things to consider if driving in bad weather/potential floods, take enough water, ready to eat food and medication for 2 days in case you get stranded. A small knife/multitool at hand for cutting seatbelts and breaking windows. $$$ & ID.
C.James.Cornwalll all good advice, though if possible it would be better to bring needed Rx meds for at least a week as med access, refills, etc as some may have to stay away & it will not be easy to obtain right away. On that note having a copy of any prescriptions is also a good idea & can make things far easier for anyone who has to stay away from home long enough to need to replenish...

We will have some rest areas and weigh stations open for sheltering in place, if needed; that should not be happening, though. All Commercial Traffic be diverted along with Public up to Columbia or Greenville.

That would be a hard decision to make maybe your family could get out and you meet up with them all I can say is pray & get the answers from God I no he has led me the right way so my thoughts are with you and your family

Well I'm not leaving Charleston SC I know most of my friends are not. They always hype up the hurricanes, like Matthew and Irma.
What a blessing to have warning and be prepared. So many in the past had no warning. Evacuation centers usually do not allow animals/pets so be prepared to care for your fur babies and reptiles on your own. Animal shelters fill up fast so call ahead of time and see if they are willing to take your pet in temporarily while you are at an evacuation center. Praying for safety and peace of mind for those affected.

What people is he referring too and aren't those the ones trying to flee? Who is he making room for???
He’s simply referring to clearing/ alleviating some regular/ local traffic in the more inland areas to make travel easier/ less congested for the large numbers evacuating. For instance in non- evacuation zones they may close some highway entrances to prevent local traffic from adding to the evacuation traffic. The executive order he referenced most likely simply allows for the appropriate people, ie police, highway/ transportation management, etc, to make these types of decisions as needed without the same process, aka red tape, that would generally be required. Hope that helps to clarify a bit!

I don't know much spelling in sign language but I could tell when the interpreter was spelling "Matthew". Far as I know all or most names have to be spelled out letter by letter. She's fast as lightning! She has to be, and probably has practiced a lot, but still. Anyway, I hope the people down there will be safe. Thinking of them! I hope any pets will be safe too. Animals almost always get displaced after storms and some storm shelters don't allow pets.

I'll be praying for the people who have pets and are poor because as the way things go, they just leave those people to die with their animals. SHAME ON YOU who intentionally make it so.
Make an announcement to the frail and elderly + people on oxygen remind them they won’t have electric for their oxygen put a number they can call realize some can’t dial a phone number maybe tell those woke to call 911 an assure them it’s okay to call and they’ll get a responder to pick them and there pet up

Be safe and call for help if you need assistance with yourself or pets!!! There are motorist assistant programs set up to help!!! Bring pets please!!! If larger animals are needed evacuated and you need help Call your vets , local vet college and shelters, local 4h clubs .... safe fairgrounds in each safe county can shelter animals areas that are safe!!! Prayers for all!!!
