Am a student at the university, but in this lockdown where there is no schooling, I have learned how to make scarfs from this video. Am so grateful, thanks for such videos.
Hello ! Sorry for the slow reply, I have been swamped with changing my business name and all the things that go with it. Thank you so much for your comment and that is so awesome that you have learnt to crochet and making scarves. What have you made since leaving this comment?
I wish I could hug you! I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart truly. When I was about 10 yrs old my grandmother taught me how to do granny squares, but life happened and I stopped crocheting. Now my 3 sons are nearly grown so I decided to revisit crochet. I was quickly bored with granny squares so I searched youtube and found you. Because of you I have completed 5 beanies (1 owl one) and this scarf. My 14 yr old already has dibs on it he says and it really turned out beautiful. I used Super Saver Sunrise and Caffe Latte together for vibrant colors (orange, reds, blues, browns) all mixed up together. If I can ever find my digital card for my camera I will snap some photos to show you but without you, I would not be nearly as successful as I have been so thank you!
I’ve had this pattern for a few years and it seems like I catch myself coming back to it. I’m making one for a friend this Christmas. Have a very Merry Christmas 🎄
G'day Judy Burke thank you for your comment! So glad you enjoy this tutorial and use it time and time again. Thank you for supporting my channel, I really appreciate it. Merry Christmas to you too! Your projects are so great. I just started crocheting a couple of weeks ago . I refuse to do granny squares but was having trouble finding stitches that looked more advance than they are. The way you teach is easy for me to follow. I'm trying this scarf and if it looks like "something I made" my daughter won't wear it. I think this will surprise both of us. Thank you. Can't wait to check out other videos
Hello Charlie, thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, kids can be so fussy ;) Hope you enjoy the rest of my videos, make sure you subscribe so you don't miss any new tutorials
Finally, a video where the teacher bothers to stop to explain exactly where to insert the hook! Thank you so much for anticipating what a beginner might need extra help with!
I am so happy I found your videos! I am brand new to crochet and found this video which allowed me to learn a stitch beyond the single crochet and create my first project! I have made 3 scarves by this pattern so far and am learning another of yours right now. Thanks for sharing your wealth of talent and skill!
I've made several of these and it's a great pattern that's quick and easy to work up. As a crochet addict I greatly appreciate your tutorials that help teach this amazing craft. Many thanks!
I enjoyed learning from you! The video quality was CLEAR unlike others, the quality isn't as good as this one, plus you explained STEP BY STEP Perfectly I am now going to finish my scarf thanks to you! Can't wait to learn more from you
Hi I wanted to thank you for this lesson I have only been crocheting for not even a year yet and have made alot of items but never thought of doing a scarf until I saw this video and I made it and love it I have watched alot of your videos and love them all Thank you....
Thank you. I find your video tutorials to be very helpful. Sometime people just breeze thru things, and I like that you don't. I've been able to make several things for Christmas gifts this year because of you. :-)
G'day Kathryn Jones thank you for your comment. I am doing a few hours of work for the first time in almost a year. I miss you all too and hope to be back at it in the new year
I made this as a last minute Christmas present for our 8 year old grandson, scaled down. I only used one strand of a similar weight yarn in blue heather and it really was quick and easy. I found another little scarf that I hadn't ever given a grand daughter years ago, and it looked like it was good for a little boy also, so it's going to the six year old brother! They live in Connecticut, and actually WEAR scarves! We're in Georgia, so more for decoration! Merry Christmas and THANKS

The colors you used for this are awesome! The pattern seems pretty easy (I'll see when I try it. haha) Thanks for your easy to understand instructions. :)

I watched when you just said you sold them at your website I clicked about 4 times and now I have a little gift coming! So excited! Thanks Clare! Oh, offcourse I like watching your video's! Basically you're the one that taught me how to crochet (unless the starting loop, that one I got from June Gilbank/planetjune). For wich I am truly gratefull. Love the way you film. Thank you for a wonderful scarf tutorial! I just completed this scarf within a week..definitely subscribing😊. Easy to follow, not like a lot of beginner videos out there.
Hello Clare, First off LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, I have only been crocheting a short while and your videos were the first I saw and are my FAVORITE by far. I am in the process of making this scarf and although I measured how long I wanted as it got wider it seems as if it is shorter (never made anything that had to be measured length wise before). Is there anyway with out undoing the scarf I could make it longer?
Hello Lillian Hittig OH NO ! hmm I am not sure what to do, the only thing I can think of is crochet along the ends, but not sure if you want that look....Thank you so much for your great feedback
whoa! I love this, I actually feel really happy to see this as a tutorial! I made a scarf just like this a few months ago with black and teal! I'm not very experienced crocheting but wanted to make a fast long scarf and after watching your video i'm happy because i did it right! :P I always like going into the first stitch too! :P
Hi Claire! Love your videos! Thanks so much for sharing them with us! How would you make this an infinity scarf, would any of your previous videos help? Thanks!
Hello Cathy Milson yes you can, You can either make this one and sew up the ends when finished or you can make your chain and then join it I will add a video that uses the same sort of technique Crochet Cowl Tutroial - Easy
Hi, no sorry there is not but I can type it here for you :) 1 - chain as long as you want your scarf hdc into the 2nd chain for the hook and each chain across, turn 2- chain 1 (doesn't count as a stitch) hdc into the back loop of the first stitch and each stitch across, turn 3 - repeat 2 until you have your desired width Hope this is what you need :)
bobwilson123 Very welcome... And you know I can do it...!!! Is not so easy but I can do it but so slowly I did I'd... Thank you so much ya....!!! 0 Stay blessed to you and your family.... Greeting from far.. Anita Ester R...
this is awesome! thank you so much for doing these videos! i am crocheting my FIRST scarf with this! the only question I have is how many cm. or in. do you recommend the width to be for an average sized lady?
You said your scarf was 159cm long. How did that end up being with 2 skeins of yarn? I ordered my yarn on the internet and I don't want to make my scarf too long and then find out I don't have enough yarn to make it wide enough. My yarn is medium worsted weight and it is 250m. I would like it to be 8in/20cm wide if possible. This is one of my first projects using nicer wool so I want it to turn out well :)
Do you think this is a male friendly scarf it made in the right color? Or do you have another pattern you'd recommend? My treatment team consists of four ladies and a gentleman. The ladies were easy to find pretty scarfs or shawls for. I'm just not so sure for s man. Thoughts?

Do you think this is a male friendly scarf it made in the right color? Or do you have another pattern you'd recommend? My treatment team consists of four ladies and a gentleman. The ladies were easy to find pretty scarfs or shawls for. I'm just not so sure for s man. Thoughts?
Hello, yes this can be great for men :)
Thank you... 👍👍👍👍
How many skeins of yarn did u use for the whole scarf?
2 - 1 of each colour :)
Can you make a "normal" size scarf with just one skein of this yarn? In other words, how many yards? Thanks.
All depends of the size of the ball but I would say you will need at least 350 yards in at least a number 3 or DK yarn
Can i use black yarn and make a scarf for a man using this stitch??
Oh yes of course you can :D
Love your website & video! My favorite!
Thank you so much for watching :)
Would this ribbed pattern work on a hat?
Hello, with out actually doing it, i think it would work. but your joining of each round may look funny
