Holy shit. 30:30 brought back memories from 2006 in Afghanistan. That exact scenario. Cars in the wadi approaching at nighttime. This looked exactly like it did back then. Just without the air and tanks. But the tracers and the environment are spot on.
Insurgency: Sandstorm does a way better job than this game.
New Antarctictangle/JoMiMi well insurgency is a shitty little shooter. Nothing near the realism and scale of this and squad

This looks like certain parts of Afghan. If you were to add mud huts and small villages, it would be the perfect start to some of the vehicle patrols I used to do back in 2013-2014.

@@eke4146 if villagers were leaving their homes, it was because shit was about to go down. For example, if an I.E.D. was in the area or if there was an ambush planned. Sometimes they would still be in the area, just all inside their homes and no kids in the area playing.

Arma 3 has a lot of crazy details. The one thing that that was kind off was how quiet the Humvee was
The Humvee is from a mod, the counterpart to it in the original game is deafening.
Haven't played the game yet, but curious, is the Humvee slow as fucc? Maybe at least they got that detail right? Idk, lemme tell you how fucking loud lavs were lol

Can't blame Arma for the Humvee sound, it's a mod.
Vehicle volume is busted in Arma 3. It's either deafening or barely audible, and you can't really adjust it in any meaningful way.

I love how you guys where just clearing houses, and then it just escalated into a full scale firefight.
Jaime's a real one. I find it awesome that she's on point with the meds in the middle of a firefight.
This was literally some of the most gorgeous action I've seen in ARMA!~
From 31:00 on is THE MOST intense firefight I have ever seen in these videos. The ending was right out of a movie! I've watched this last segment a couple times due to its intensity!

@Cincinnati Harry if you're talking about this video in particular I'm quite certain the enemies are AI, whilst his teammates are obviously players (I'm sure you know it, I just want to make sure that it is said) ;)
Cincinnati Harry it can be whatever you want it to be basically. You can play against ai, against just players, or both even.
The missions are generally made by players, so the gameplay is dictated by whatever they choose to make.
I left a like before I watch because I already know it’s gonna be great.

Using the compass out of nowhere just to be sure were the enemies are.... This shit is awesome!!
I mean that's how you orient yourself...
And someone well versed with compass and map will beat the effeciency and usefulness of a GPS any day, in any scenario, except low visibility ones
And the second exception if both use high tech equipment for guided munitions, it's the only I can think of but that's not really relevant to self/squad orientation after all

Just started playing Arma 3, and stumbled upon this in search of good videos to watch at work to scratch the itch. Holy hell this is some proper good stuff!! First half of the video I was just admiring how good the game & environment looks and how well you guys work together.
30th minute all hell breaks loose and I’m literally freaking out at my desk at the beautiful chaos, while frightened colleagues stare at me and avoid me as far as possible.

Love to watch EFT and all, but... Arma is got a special place in my heart, and when you can't play because your GPU died this is as good as it gets!
Or when it is alive but it's a GTX660 and you can't upgrade yet coz you have problems to fix first like ram slot not working and sata ports not working and usb being faulty.

Floating people isn't related to grass at all, but to terrain quality, which determines the amount of geometry in terrain at a distance.
I play Call of Duty and Battlefield but, man Arma looks like a game where you need real life skills to play this
I just bought it and going through the bootcamp tutorial thing makes me want to play this more. I can tell it's wayyyyy more in depth than any fps I've ever played before.

I DONT GET THIS IS ARMA ON LINE MULTIPLAYER OR WHATS GOING ON it is too complected like there is ton of servers etc etc. I would love to try and buy but it just looks very complicated to set up
This is a Zeus operation, it's kind of like a game of D&D with a Dungeon Master making a scenario and setting objectives for the players as well as controlling the enemy that the players are fighting.
