In the ROTA mod the sumbeam doesnt explode,it activates a shield but the thrusters still take heavy damage
in the presence of such a huge mass and speed of emerging from the water, the height of the resulting tsunami will flood coastal zones within a radius of at least several kilometers
@@Mr1987Joe this is given that anything in that ecosystem operates on the same principles that it would here, which it more than likely wouldnt. for all we know the thing eats all the minerals in the ground or something, which could help explain the vast nothingness it resides in...
They shouldn’t have added the voiceover after the ship was already underwater. Kinda detracts from the shock of the moment.

I've never played but the event really lacks scale. That creature would have been at least a mile or more in length.

Even if we draw an analogy with realism - this is not a problem that a carnivorous monster to catching a piece of metal (spaceship) such game conventions are quite a place to be (although here it's not without oddities in a particular case, that.. The evacuation part of the vessel is not a dinghy - it's a whole front-part of spaceraft, wtf, hah)
And of course, it's not a prob. that a little piece of some human in fact could be a food for some creature larger than a stalker and if there are several of them, monster would be able also to catch all of them..

I want to say about size of Gargantuan is Such a big. Yeah, this is must to be a so large creature, but in this situation.. Compare size of horizont line -n monster. On the planet he could be only one - male-female couple just eat each other I think from side of logical lore and just.. This is so big for a planet

The gargantuan seems to eat both meat and electricity from vehicles. So the sunbeams reactor could serve as a wonderful source of calories.

It's entirely possible that a large chunk of metal wpuld be just as apatizing to it as a bone is to a dog. And likely for the same reasons too. A creature that size likely isn't using calcium for bones. More likely some kind of organic iron polymer. Which means a giant chuck of steal falling from the sky would be very attractive to a giant death worm living in an environment were iron in such quantities is rare. Would also explain why iron deposits always form in small nuggets close to the surface. It's literally just leviathan shit.

There's a huge problem with this frankly-massive creature casually leaping out of the water to chomp on a ship. Assuming it could actually DO that - remember the sort of energy a whale needs to do a major breach of the ocean's surface - this massive creature should be causing a tidalwave that would instantly destroy or scatter (or both) any bases you have, including your lifepod, followed by overwhelming the islands in sheer force. The first time I got a look at this, I was like "Ew, no. That's a *terrible* idea. I hope that's not canon.", and my position is unchanging on that matter. Fortunately, it's just a mod, and I'm sorry, but it's not a great idea.
