Are Silicones GOOD or BAD for curly hair?

👩🏽‍🔬 Are silicones good or bad for curly hair?

In short, silicones aren’t exactly BAD as Steve explained, there are a wide variety of silicones and not all are equal. But in general people with curly hair should be cautious with freely using all types of silicones as they can sometimes be beneficial but also can cause some negative effects over time. This is why I chose to keep my @dermae Ramos 💐 Clean Curls line Silicone-Free but it does not mean I am against silicones as a whole. I do personally think there is a space for silicones in curly hair types just not in all types of products. ✅

This is why I chose to keep my @dermae Ramos 💐 Clean Curls line Silicone-Free but it does not mean I am against silicones as a whole. My Ramos 💐 Clean Curls Collection is entirely silicone-free. We chose to keep it silicone free because as Steve explained, Silicones aren’t always bad for hair, they have some short term benefits but as a general rule curly hair can endure some negative effects from using certain silicones over time so it is best to keep the line silicone free.
