Nanny, your stuffing looks so good. I too made stuffing to take to my son’s home for Thanksgiving. I also took croissants. I am still enjoying the stuffing leftovers. I am very happy that Shamu is indoors at night. The coyotes are active during the day even though they are mainly nocturnal. They have to survive so they hunt at all times. I don’t think that lights will help. They may react at first, then they will know that the light won’t harm them. Animals adapt. We are in their territory. I think that the city relocating them is the best idea. Good luck with them. Blessings to you both, love, Sharon

I bet she is too!!! Here in Michigan, we aren't bothered with Coyotes. Sometimes we hear them and sometimes people see them but I've never heard getting on a roof!!! Nanny, hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving. I'm no longer cooking for Thanksgiving and Christmas, only the pumpkin pies. I'm tired of being tired on and around those days from all the cooking and cleaning up. So now we're getting good food from a restaurant the day before and heating it up on the day. I LOVE just relaxing this morning knowing I won't be cooking and stressing all day. LOL! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

oh, that makes me feel better about Shamu. Yes we did some research because we live in the country here in Oklahoma and I found out that flashing lights, deter skunks, possums and raccoons so I bought some strings of lights that are solar powered like Christmas lights, real small LED, real bright LED cool white and I put in severalflower bed shrubs trees around our house around my birdfeeders so they will not tear up my birdfeeders and it works sunny days solar power panel is solar and they are bright and they’re seven modes. You can set your lighting on and one of them is flashing strobe lights that’s the one I put mine on.

We love our cleavers. A hint on using the cleaver when chopping - at least it helps me - I hold the end in one spot and pivot with the handle end, rarely ever raising the end up... I just move around with the handle end. Less chance for accidents & it goes quickly.

Nanny, I have to say that the “tiny” kitchen in your lovely cottage seems well organized with shelves, and quite well stocked. You clearly add a dash of love for the family you will feed. I have to say after more than 50 years of cooking, I don’t enjoy the daily cooking so much anymore. I still love to bake and cook for special occasions .I told my husband that when he retires, I will happily continue doing the lawn and yard work, and he can do the cooking!😛 Have a beautiful, blessed Thanksgiving, and know that even in these crazy days, we have much to be thankful for.💖

Hi Nanny oh that looks a great chopping knife , as usual you very busy nice to see how you do your stuffing , your sure busy making all that stuffing makes me hungry watching you it looks delicious the herbs make it tasty that’s for sure I put celery as well in mine I’m cringing watching you chop I can no longer do all the chop chop it’s a slow job for me and yes I love that sound of the chopping 😁I put butter in mine but know one I know does but I think tastes nicer .oh no Nanny oh hope it’s soon better the cut on your finger and gets in the way what ever you do hope it soon heals but how will it heal as you are always so busy . Bet Moosey got a shock to see u had injured your self 🤷♂️the plasters never stay on when you’re busy . Think I go overboard with onions as I love them , when I see you and your busy and all made up and hair up I rush into my bedroom and do my make up and feel much better and look much better , you my love always look gorgeous you have nice bone structure and love to watch you putting on your make up , mmmmm I love dates with nuts take care hKeep hoping the coyotes have moved on as I love your beautiful cat and don’t want them to get him . The smell of the stuffing when in the oven will be delicious. That's a pretty fancy knife. They're so sharp you have to be extra careful. Sorry you got a booboo. I have always wanted one of those, but a little scary. Good for Moose to get one for you. Your signature stuffing sounds wonderful. I will have to try adding water chestnuts next time I make stuffing. Happy thanksgiving to you and yours Nanny - have a wonderful time away. The stuffing looked yummy - old traditions are so special. This reminded me that around Halloween [for some reason] one of our traditions was to cook an old ''plumb duff'' pudding - which is like a Christmas pudding almost- it was a recipe my Aunt Martha received from her mother in law and it went back years so by the time I was a child my granny and aunts and mum would all cook this - it was a cup of this and a pinch of this and a tea spoon of this and a tablespoon of the other (spices etc. currants raisins, nutmeg, suet, et. and all the dry ingredients then made wet with a bottle of stout and then the mixture was boiled in a special shaped contraption for 6 hours - boy it was good. I loved it hot with cold milk or custard when just done and my granny liked to fry it on later days. Memories....Great to hear about Shamou - to quote Doris Day [again] -she said in her book [and it is true] ''out of something bad ALWAYS comes something good'' - and out the the coyote situation - Shamou has started to see the benefits of a cosy night in with the folks! - Stay fabulous Nanny - love Jas xx

Nanny, I refuse to buy sharp knives, I always cut myself with dull knives and I know it would be a lot worse if it were sharp. This Thanksgiving all the younger ones are doing the festivities and I just look to help out. Have fun with your beautiful family…
I am so glad Shamu is sleeping inside now…I know he feels safer and in his old age may become more of a house cat. We live in the rural southeast area of the country, and it is almost impossible to keep an outside cat or dog because we have not only coyotes but also bobcats, wild hogs, and even bears. There’s no telling what else is out there, especially at night, that we haven’t yet seen or heard. We have a fenced back yard because of our swimming pool, but we are still very careful going outside at night, especially outside of the fenced area. Be careful with that new knife…yikes…finger cuts can really be nasty!!! Hope you and Moosie had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! Love you guys!!!

Your stuffing sounds great! I love the water chestnut idea; I need to try that. (They are also good in tuna salad). I had to laugh at you and your cleaver. Not because you cutting yourself was funny, but because last year I bought myself a similar, big, sharp knife and first time I used it I cut myself too! I was doing like you, chopping really fast and enjoying the sound. My husband told ,me at least 10 times to be careful, don't cut myself, that knife is too sharp, etc. So when I did cut myself I blamed it on him. I said he jinxed me! 😀 Have a lovely time tomorrow!

Hi from Annie happy thanksgiving to you all, the stuffing mix looks very tasty nice of you to make it for the family. You would have to christen that knife now... perhaps moosey thinks he should not have gifted you that knife? But you will get used to it n be careful. Can just picture you over all those years cooking seasons dinners over the stove and baking in the oven lots of treats. Be wonderful memories for you all those years of Xmas n Thanksgiving. I am hopefully doing a little lamb roast for my cats and dog I will have some too, I mix in garlic and rosemary in to small holes made in the leg of lamb all over the outside of the leg of lamb gives it that nice boost in flavour. I hope to order fresh Turkey roll from the local butcher for xmas meal. will make your stuffing then for that turkey roll.
