I was born and raised there from 1966-1985. Great video. Geneva on the Lake holds dear memories and my Uncle was killed in a train accident in late 1960’s in N Kingsville, which is about 10 miles from Ashtabula
Awww thank you!!! We are so grateful you’re here!! That was a fun one to make. I LOVE researching and learning about things like this. It feel like it helps connect you even more to an area 😍
Love history. You guys put alot of work into this video sharing the history. I absolutely love the style of the video. Thank you for sharing such a fabulous video.
Thank you Stacy!!! It definitely was a lot of work, but I’m really proud of how it turned out. We are going back to these kinds of videos. Through this transition, we discovered that we truly enjoy making travel content and want to bring it back ❤️
Very interesting !! If you guys are ever in Washington again, there is an old train wreck near Stevens Pass on Hwy 2. It's called the Wellington Disaster. This train wreck was caused by an avalanche. It happened On Mar.1, 1910. Ninety six people perished. I havent been able to visit this site yet, but hope to one day. They now have a 7.8 mile train tunnel to prevent this from happening again. I have been through the tunnel. I liked this story, its sad but interesting. And of course it was good to see the puppies once again!! Take care !!
Love, love, love the content. History and travel, my two favorite things. You guys did a great job and so glad to see you back and looks like you are having fun and in better spirits, so I am smiling ear to ear for you. ❤
Love the intro and music ❤ I fractured a rib and have been in bed for almost 2 weeks and you’re music was so on point with a beautiful beat! Your cup was everything anxiety is a liar!! So I’m getting up and stop being anxious about that if I’m gonna be ok or not 😢
Oh no!!! That sounds super painful, we’re so sorry you’re going through that!! I’m happy our video was able to bring a little bit of joy to your day ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Quite a story, I'd never heard of that tragedy. You did a nice job putting this together and I especially liked seeing all the nature shots. Crazy, how time and nature will practically erase things that once were. Now my interest is piqued, so time to use the power of Google and read more about it! Safe travels, Bethune's. -Burt in NJ
We used the app “Atlas Obscura” and found that little gem. It was really neat getting to read about it and then stand where it happened. I am definitely enjoying these videos for sure. Thank you for coming along with us Burt!!
Good to see a video. Missed them. Can we have a guy day with like Kyle and the bus episode. Like how to make these rims polish right up. I know they would look like brand new again. Love the show and the bus. Thanks guys. 8)
This was beautifully filmed. Jenn you're a great story teller. Why would a person want to tamper with a trusted bridge design that was perfectly safe and then go on to redesign the bridge without at least having an engineering degree?? Reckless and arrogant:( And then a fire chief who didn't even care to try and save lives. So sad. The only heros to this story were the brave townspeople.
Love love this video, what a beautiful peaceful place, but sadness’s happened many years ago . Love seeing you guys again, looking forward to more videos. Take care guys. We honestly need another live update on you guy’s. ☮️🕊️☮️
Great video! You should check out the PBS Documentary that was released in 2022. It was an all-volunteer production that won three regional emmys! We're all very proud of it... FYI, at the time of the disaster there was actually a set of stairs that made the river slightly more accessible than it is today, so the townspeople didn't have to slide down the hill, although some of them may have to try to get there faster. Also, you missed the tomb of Charles Collins! Just a bit down the cemetery road from the obelisk is the mausoleum where he and his wife (and a few other relatives) are laid to rest. Charles Collins was the chief engineer of the LS&MS RR, and his story and role in the disaster are quite compelling as well.
Nice history lesson. I love road trips and love seeing everything this country has to offer. Every summer me and my family would take a trip to a place in America for a week and do anything we could along the way. So seeing that you take advantage of your time on the road and learn about even small things is cool to see.
Thank you so much for being here Caitlin!! That’s so cool you did that, I bet you made some incredible memories. We loooooove learning about new places. There’s an endless amount of places to visit 😍😍😍
Jenn... Horatio Spafford wrote the lyrics to "It Is Well With My Soul". The music was later composed by Philip Bliss. Spafford wrote the song after his family died in a ship wreck on the Atlantic. Even though this was a tremendous tragedy, his faith never wavered. en.m.wikipedia.org
As a retired firefighter paramedic I can’t imagine just watching people burn and not try to do anything. So sad 😞
It’s so sad to think about for sure! The townspeople had to be the ones to step in and save people.
Nice video - thanks for the tour Jenn and Kyle and your buddies made something special here.
🥰🥰🥰

Thank you Cheryl!! It was such a sad story! The Amasa Stone guy was a very selfish person from what I learned about him.
Hey Jen and Kyle,I told y'all before that i live in Ohio,i'm 2 hours from Cleveland,i'm 59 and have never heard about the train wreck!
Ohio has treated us so well, we have loved it!! Isn’t it wild how so many things are in our back yard but we had no idea?! 😍
