Their music is simplistic, their themes monotonous, and their writing is sanitized to the point of worthlessness. I have no doubt in my mind that they could do so much better... but as a band, as an institution, they don't. This is what I'm criticizing: Going violently corporate for a fat payout. It isn't genuine, and quite frankly beneath musicians of that pedigree.
@CrazyFish Metallica are great. So are Nickelback. Chad is a brilliant song writer who literally spent an entire year (while touring) to find the formula of a hit song, and he then needed an hour to get the lyrics, and he had the Number one song of 2002, How You Remind Me. Ryan, Mike, and Daniel are all immensely talented, and it really shows.
HOW/why people shit on Kroger and Nickelback is beyond me. Trust me, live....they completely deliver/ROCK. Period. They AREN'T one hit wonders and DESERVE more respect....

I am a massive metal head who grew up on the big four. I really don’t know why nickelback take so much heat. Really don’t get it. They are one unto their own. No one else sounds like them either. Not my favourite band ever but they are pretty cool. Seen them in 2000 I think it was at Manchester and they were good live too
