You guys are so sweet to make a small room for each girl! :) I bet they loved having their own space.

I think it's because she's using a fisheye lens. Makes anything in the center look bigger and the sides more compact.

I was really Interested, but the fisheye lense makes this impossible to watch. Every wall looks curved. it's messing with my head.

I knew a guy that put his bed in his walk in closet and used the room for entertaining/living since he shared the house with a number of people. Apparently the heating in the house sucked so the closet bedroom was warmer.

That s is an awesome idea. each get their little private nook. its not like they're gonna be trapped in the rooms day and night. i have four boys and we are moving to texas in the summer and dont know what kind of housing we are getting. this looks like a very helpful idea and cute

I think the idea was okay, but it doesn't look like it was executed very well. One of those 'better on paper' kind of things. I hope it all works out.

It worked out great...that was two years ago and the girls have enjoyed their own private spaces. Younger brother is waiting for the oldest to leave (going to college in August) so he can have her space...LOL. He is ready to move into his own space so he doesn't have to share a room anymore.

One of those rooms is about the size of my room, mine might be a tiny bit bigger. But if I were in those girls situation and having to share a room with two other girls, I would opt for a smaller space to call my own. As long as it can fit a bed, desk and drawers I'll be fine. That with the added bonus of my siblings not being all up in my face.

did you guys get a building permit to do this. Wouldn't it have been better if you would have moved and found a bigger house. like an attic, then u could have done it to it, Instead of building walls. you guys put some heavy drapes that block out the Sun or light. So if you ever have to move then you won't have to undo what you guys did in the first place

Guess ppl don’t realize you really can do allot with small spaces. I lived in a studio apartment for years and liked it. Basically you use your wall to hand stuff and storage containers under the bed. Most teens don’t spend much time at home if they do it’s on their phones or laptops. As a teen I worked two jobs, school, volleyball, honors society president and hardly ever was home. I also moved out before graduation and rented a room in neighboring town. If girls go to college they won’t have much room. Teaches you to not hoard belongings or waste space.

    • @elistae5536
      @elistae5536 7 років тому +29

Well, I don't agree. I think what they are doing is perfect! Kids need privacy and they will get it. After they move out, those walls aren't so difficult to remove. Maybe I'm really old and out of touch (probably), but why do kids today need huge rooms, private bathrooms and walk in closets? Raising my kids, we all shared one bathroom. They all got their own rooms (small, with armoires - no closets). I was old, small and safe. They learned consideration, tolerance and patience. They're all decent, productive adults with good values. No permanent damage was done because they had small rooms in a tiny house.

When selling a house you will for an example get more for a five-bedroom house than for a three-bedroom house. No matter of the size or use of the rooms! Dividing a room to get more (but tiny) rooms is a cheap way to gain profit when selling a house. Thats the way in Norway :p

xx_liadin_xx I know! That's why, with four rooms, you can divide 5 kids between three rooms instead of two.

Awesome job!! A week sounds like a quick job for one guy!!! Huge room, but dude made super clean seams everywhere. He looked like he was getting sick of his wife encouraging the dog to interrupt though. 🙄😂

I really like the idea and the project. I'm sure your kids are happy about their own space.
Just for the video I don't like that half of the time is playing around with your dog's. You should have focused more on the project in the video, even if your pets are around. But still great project and result.

thank you so much for this video. I really love all the parts your dogs bark in it. Cause it's not like it's 10 pm and my dogs LOVE barking at random noises even if its in videos. Im at 4:43 still havent built the rooms yet and i wanna punch both my dogs in the face.

Honestly I think you should have just let them share a room....You could have put curtains in between and when they wanted there own space just pull them close and that’s it. Instead of making them have cramped space it would have been better like that.

    1. The girls may have asked for separate rooms like this. She said she wants to show the girls the recording to show how much work It is.
    2. Smaller rooms keep kids from keeping things they don't need and keep their room clean

omg people in the comments acting like the bedroom is a fucking house its a BEDroom. they dont live there, they sleep, do homework and get dressed in there. also, with the loft beds theres gonna be much more space. i can guarantee they will be thrilled to have their own rooms no matter how small.

Everyone who says that these rooms are too small needs to stop! I used to share a room and I can say that sometimes you have to sacrifice some space to have your own room. If I had to share a room with two other people I would be glad to have a tiny room like this and I'm sure if you had to also you would agree!

I had to share a bigger room with my brother for the first years of my life, when we moved I got my own room. It was small, a bed, a desk and some shelfs and it was full. BUT it was MY room alone. Later I would get the bigger room when my brother moved out, but I would pick the small room again if I had to choose between sharing a big one and having a small one for myself. Of course having a big room for myself was great, but there is not always the option, especially when you have 5 kids at home. And as you heard, the children aren't always there, meaning they also spend time at their other parent's home where they probably have a room, maybe even for themselves. It could be worse. Some kids don't even have an own bed. So an own small room isn't that bad ;)
