Would this work on a raggedy high mileage girlfriend, she's looks like she spent a decade with the Hells Angles.

Kegels and plastic surgery are the only cure.

No if she's been sitting on a bike too long she's definitely all dried out and kegels aren't going to do any good anyway time to trade her in

Can you trade her in? Sometimes it is easier to start afresh.

I washed my xterra 2x, dried it super well, and taped it up before I applied it (in the garage). After letting it dry for 24 hours it looks fantastic. I would highly recommend but it definitely needs prep work before applying.

There's a product made by Wolfgang called exterior trim sealant and it works extremely well. As with any trim restorer it doesn't last forever, but it lasted 4-5 months on the bed rails and hood cowling on my F150. The key to any sealant is prepping the surface and getting it extremely clean. It's a little bit pricey, but worth the money.

How resilient is it? How long lasts? When its dried can it be touched without marking your hand? Is it smelly after dried? Specially when inside the car gets hot in summer. Please let me know. Cheers

WARNING: I had some major issues similar to your cowl. Plastics that were right next to each other on a brand new vehicle (and looked to be the same) One looked black and the other was the milky streaky finish you ended up with. I contacted Cerakote and they claimed it was "moisture during application" which it wasn't. That said, it works great on the OLD TYPE Pebbled plastics, but test a small area before doing you whole vehicle FOR SURE. Their response: "Cerakote Trim Coat is a permanent finish, there is not a way to remove the fully cured Trim Coat from the surface." aka your stuck with a streaky milky crapy looking finish on your plastic. I liked the results where it worked, but where it didn't is a nightmare. I guess it will just have to wear off.

Yep, you always need to do test pieces with stuff like this. Having owned my fair share of older vehicles Im all too aware of the the 1,000 different types of plastic they like to use on the same vehicle.

I used Windex first, then water to wipe off the Windex, then air dried. To me it smells like hair dye a bit. I did the back panel on my Honda Element, the complete lower tailgate with only 1 pad. Looks great. I live a few miles from the factory so I just went there and picked it up at Will Call.

I applied mine to interior door sills and pillars under the seatbelts and have not had an issue yet. However knowing an isocyanate chemical in the product could gas off during our Texas hot summers. I'm waiting for a response from the companies tech support.

@@HawkeyeSkunkWorks there is a UA-cam content creator named Ryan whose channel name is, “Ry The Car Guy.” He has made quite a few videos on maintaining and repairing his Xterra. I’d highly recommend checking out his channel if you haven’t already. I subscribed to Ryan’s channel years ago because my wife’s 2005 Nissan Pathfinder we used to have, had the same 4.0 V-6 that Ryan’s Xterra has. By the way, if your Xterra’s oil pressure gauge starts fluctuating between normal and low oil pressure, I figured out why. It’s not an easy fix but it took me nearly a year to finally solve it. It’s a pretty common problem with high mileage Nissan 4.0 V-6 engines. The fluctuation is caused by some factory applied permatex gasket material perishing over time. Unfortunately, it’s behind the timing chain. It’s not an easy repair, but can be done if you are organized, methodical and mechanically inclined. Ryan made a series of videos about replacing the timing chain on his Xterra 4.0 V-6.

The product is amazing but for my car wasn't enough. Turned out very patchy and streaked. I was parked in the shade doing the work only on the evenings but still turned out badly.
I did a repair job with sandpaper and some tri Nova to coat the rest and after a few months reapplied the ceracoat.
There needs to be an option to buy 15-20 wipes as 40-50 for two applications gets expensive. For that you can start getting pro detailing kits and gretchin bottles.
