I keep trying to come up new words to describe how insanely creative and talented you are. But girl, there are no words. You’re beautiful, talented, amazing, creative…how about GOAT…Greatest of all Time.
Gurrrrl I definitely thought Minnie and Mickey were edible images!! 😱😱😱 you are crazy talented!! I have tried your trace, cut, smooth method but I just don’t have the eyesight or steady hand for it. That doesn’t stop me from trying tho! I can do simpler stuff sometimes 😊 thanks for all you do!!
Awwwww thank you love!! It gets easier with practice, I promise! And you’re doing it right. Start with the simpler stuff and then you can advance as you get the hang of it. ☺️🙏🏼
Giiiirll this cake design is amazing 🤩!!! I hecka ❤ the shading on Mickey and Minnie, it really brings them to life!! We will never get bored of you, your AMAZING 🤩!! I binge watch your channel every chance I get, and I still learn something new that you’ve done either in cakes, recipes, fondant, and business related information…🙂
Hi there, I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of days now and wow you’re designs are amazing! I started making cakes for my family. I also have a small UA-cam Chanel, not doing very well but that’s ok. I love making them. So with that said, I’m going to try some of your techniques. Thank you so much for your tutorials. I love love them
I have a question. So I have a whole container full of random colored fondant, extras that I didn't need when I made the color. I'm sure you have that too... what do you do with extra random colored fondant ? Do you put them all together and make black with them?
I keep the colors in a ziplock bag and then put that in an airtight container. I'll use it until it gets too hard. And I just mixed a bunch of old colors together and added some black, so I do that as well!
You could never bore me! Love the technique and your instinct to change up the tier size. It is more visually interesting when they don’t match. Thank you for all you do!
There is NOTHING boring about your tutorials! Each and every one of them are very informative, educational and encouraging! You're amazingly talented lady! I am learning a lot from you on how to be more creative and make my cakes more unique. Please keep shining brightly, living in your purpose and blessing us with these gems! 💙👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💙 #cakebestieinmyhead
You make this look SO EASY and I know it’s NOT! With each video I always learn something new that I am excited to try. I appreciate you sooo much! Thank you for these tutorials.
I think people find your simple, clear instructions easy to follow. Sometimes when I watch other UA-camrs they can come across a little arrogant, really unattractive. So, I think because you are so authentic and relatable, people love you. I also find that when I’m just smoothing buttercream my daughter would watch me. She said it was soothing and relaxing 🤷♀️ I think people like watching a project come together, beginning to end. I’ve recently started watching videos on woodturning. They’re so mesmerizing 😊. I think that’s why some people watch baking. Another great video and just in time for an order for next week!
Karolyn I always like seeing you make the 2D figures, it's never boring...LOL. The cake is SOOOO cute. May I ask how much you charged? Also, I like the insert at the end of the video of the cakes before they were iced. Thank you for sharing.
I love these videos so relaxing to watch and I learn new techniques at the same time. Phenomenal work per usual! I notice you rarely go the lazy route using edible images vs 2D images. It does make the fondant accents extra special.
I love all your video’s. I forgot which one you showed is how to print edibles. I tried different suits and can’t find it. By the way your technique for tracing fondant decorations is genius. Thanks for sharing
I've also tried the trace, cut method, and haven't had good luck. I have a hard time seeing the lines, and I have a tool just like yours, and I love it too, lol. I am using store bought fondant and no tylose powder. I will have to try it again doing that next time. Love your tutorial.
Oh no! Store bought fondant is notoriously soft. You need the fondant to be a little stiff when you do this, which is where the Tylose powder comes in. I highly recommend making the marshmallow fondant and then adding the Tylose, it makes a huge difference!
Your fondant is fabulous and I've tried to find small white marshmallows to make your recipe but can't find them anywhere! Do you ever sell your fondant? PS Never boring video tutorials!
You are so talented! I have learned so much from you♥️ I started trying to do 2d images/letters but I found that my fondant dries out and starts to sort of crack along the edges while I’m working on it. I mean grant it Im not that fast yet lol but is there anything I can do maybe to prevent that?
Hi Karolyn, I love your channel. Been watching your videos to learn how to work with fondant. One question, do you put tylose powder in the fondant you cover your cakes with or just the fondant you do your decorations with?
It goes in all my fondant. When I cover cakes, the Tylose powder helps smooth out the fondant and gets it to a really nice consistency! Here's a video where I talk about it: ua-cam.com/video/EYaNXTDOkj4/v-deo.html
@@KarolynsKakes Thank you so much and by the way I purchased your Pound Cake Cookbook. I am anxious to try some of the recipes. You are Awesome and make everything look easier than it really is.
Hey Karolyn, I have a question… If I make a cake covered in cheese slices made from fondant, how long in advance can I make it without the fondant drying out, could I make it the night before pickup? Thank you so much for your videos, they are so helpful. You truly are The Perfect Cake Decorator❤❤️❤️
Hi Rebecca! I would make the cheese slices and immediately put them on the cake. Then I would store it in the refrigerator until it's ready to be picked up. I've had fondant covered / decorated cakes in the fridge up to 4-5 days in advance and the cake has been fine!
Maybe you've answered this before (if so, I'm sorry to be asking again!), but how long does a razor blade last for you? (Edited to add: Love your videos so much! You're awesome, Karolyn!)
How long does it take for your fondant decorations to "harden"? I used the tylose and a fan to try and get them to behave. In the end it worked out, but it seems like it was taking forever!
Mine stiffen in a few hours / overnight. Are you using Marshmallow Fondant? If you’re using store bought fondant, it’s very soft and can take a while for it to stiffen up!
Hi, I have been watching some of you past videos and I have a couple of questions. I was wondering can I use your yellow doctored cake mix recipe on a Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines Butter cake mix? Also do you recommend Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines cake mixes? Do you have any tips on how to add stronger butter flavor? Thanks 😊
I recommend Betty Crocker cake mix, I feel like I get the best result from BC. I don't love Duncan Hines, I always get a weird crust and cracks that form on the top when I use that mix. This extract adds a nice butter flavor! amzn.to/3KU7enj
Thank you so much for replying! Your advice is greatly appreciated and so helpful. I love your videos they are a big help especially for a beginner baker. Baking hasn’t been my strong suit in the past so this is a great.
Entirely unrelated to this particular video, but I had a question I keep forgetting to ask: Have you ever made a gluten free version of your Cake Pan Grease? I ask because several of my children's classmates have celiac disease, and I don't want them to be left out of the festivities when they're at our house. Thank you for all that you do to share your knowledge with us! 💚
