    I know it's just a little known fact, but hunts are invariably more difficult when you're a quadriplegic or dead. Good safety content, Daniel.

    Bought 40 acres this winter and made 2 hideyhole plots in between a swamp and dense brush. Deer seem to move through naturally and hopefully I can get my seed to grow.

    Thanks for all the good info! Could be dry there soon. Eric Snodgrass with Nutrien Ag covers the weather every week day and provides some long term weather forecasts in detail. Just sharing helpful info for your viewers.

    My favorite stand setups are ones like this. Gotta be slow though bc that tree top will shift with weight and tip off a mature buck. Epic spot there

    I think I would rent a mini excavator and dig the pond out to make it better and hold more water.

      In the Ozarks - if ponds are dug to deep, they won't hold water - but below the clay layer.

    Is there any tips you guys have to remove leaf litter off hidey hole food plots during the fall so they don’t choke out all the plants?

      Leaf blower

    • @GrowingDeerTV
      @GrowingDeerTV  Рік тому +2

      Fire before we plant and a leaf blower at low RPM's after the crop is growing.

    Any recommendations on what to plant in the existing clover plot? We are in the middle of a drought in MO, so should I wait to plant until rain is in the forecast? The clover plot sits in the middle of the woods next to ag fields.

      Certainly wait will there's a solid chance of rain in the forecast! If the clover comes back strong, it will likely out compete any crop you plant into the clover.

    When does clover actually provide the nitrogen to other plants? After it dies or while it’s alive?

    • @GrowingDeerTV
      @GrowingDeerTV  Рік тому

      Different species of clover have a bit different physiology. The short answer is some N while living and more after the plant dies.

    How does the new broadcast hideyhole product work? I make a like mix by accident.

      Travis - We focused on using forage species that are known to work well with the broadcast system.

    Why does no one ever talk about peanut fields for deer? There are 0 videos about it on UA-cam. Drive by any peanut field anytime of day and majority of the time, there are deer feeding

      @GrowingDeerTV  Рік тому

      Peanuts are grown in a limited area - that may be the reason. Peanuts do make great quality forage! They are a legume!

      Sweet potatoes are great also. Vining plant, deer love them

    Why not pile it up, burn it, and then use a backpack blower to spread the ashes on a windy day?

    • @GrowingDeerTV

      Scot - I rarely have a fire that completely consumes all the wood.
