      Abardare IONDOLEWE
Lake Victoria IONDOLEWE. The local name of the lake before wazungu wakuje was Nyanza. Nyanza is a Luhya word that means lake ( most people erroneously assume its a jadhe word but its' not. they borrowed the word from Luhyas) and that's what we called it before tubandikiwe victoria. Who the hell was Victoria? I mean tunajua alikua queen wa wazungu but what did she do for us Kenyans? UBEBERU mtupu.

*It's unfortunate that many African geographical features still carry names honoring colonialists and oppressors. A notable example is Lake Rudolf, which was recently renamed Lake Turkana. I aspire to see changes in the names of significant places like Lake Victoria, the Aberdares range, Thompson Falls, and others that currently dishonor our ancestors, replaced with indigenous African names.*

@@wanjikuk7662 imagine hata Lake Victoria. The English nonsense needs to stop. Before wazunyee, the local name of the lake was Nyanza. It's a Luhya word that means lake. Depending on which Luhya version (Nyanza, inyanza, Nyanja, Inyanja). LAKE VICTORIA NEEDS TO BE RENAMED lake Nyanza. We don't even know who Victoria was and what did she do for Kenyans? At least Thompson tunamjua and he was a good guy and spoke so well about the Maasai and the Luhya and the Kikuyu.

Bamboo forest in Kenya? wish you showed that part. I don't think we have that, enough to call it a bamboo forest.

I actually saw the bamboo forest , colombus monkeys and other species frequent there to feed on the bamboo shoots
