My read on Prospera not being punished for her actions at the end is that it's just an extension of the show's overall message about cycles of violence. Namely, that responding to violence with more violence, while sometimes necessary, is never the actual solution, and will only create more pain and suffering and cause more people to choose violence as the solution to their pain. Whether we like it or not, the cycle is only ended by dismantling the systems that enable that violence and choosing to leave it in the past, something which is perhaps even harder than fighting, because we don't _want_ to-- We _want_ to see someone like Prospera be punished for all the terrible things she's done, but what would that actually accomplish beyond just allowing us to pat ourselves on the back and _act_ like we're "right" for rejecting and punishing the "right" people? Punishing her wouldn't bring back any of the people she killed or erase any of the pain she caused, and it certainly wouldn't undo any of the damage she did to either of her daughters, or help either of them recover in any way. Are we doing a good thing by violently rejecting evil? Because even if we are, Prospera isn't evil. It's the very idea that evil exists and must be violently punished that created her in the first place, by ripping away everyone and everything that she loved and pushing her to ever greater extremes to preserve the one thing she had left, until she lost all care or empathy for anything outside of the world she created for her lost daughter, up to and including the living daughter she still had. After all the pain that made her who she is today, would further punishing her do anything to make her better, or would it just make her already miserable existence even more miserable for, as far as she's concerned, doing what any mother would and giving the world for her child's happiness? Why would we think that, after surviving all that pain, the pain we inflict as "just punishment" for her crimes would do anything to convince her she was wrong? It's just more pain, not just for her, but for Suletta and Eri, who still loved her despite all that.
At a certain point, stopping the cycle of violence inevitably means letting go of our need to see others punished, and allowing people who we believe _deserve_ punishment to go free. Someone has to look at their own pain and say "I will not allow myself to inflict this pain on anyone else." In Witch From Mercury, suffering is never prevented by causing suffering to someone else, even to someone who themselves inflicts it on others; suffering is only prevented when the tools that people use to cause it are taken away and the people who are in pain, including those who caused pain to others, are given the help they need to heal. Sophie's death didn't teach anyone not to be like her, Norea's death didn't stop her from hurting anyone, pain didn't stop Lauda from killing his brother, and the biggest gun in the solar system did nothing to stop Prospera's rampage, and could have killed even more people than she would have if it had. Instead, the parts of Sophie that stayed with the people close to her were the good things she gave to them; Norea was only killed after she had been talked down by someone who saw her pain and wanted to help her heal from it; Lauda's pain is what drove him to try to kill Guel, Guel's love for him is what stopped him, and Guel's life was only saved by Felsi disabling both of their weapons; and finally, Prospera was stopped by her two daughters, the very tools she would have used to enact her revenge, choosing not to obey her, and in doing so taking away all the power she wielded through them, rendering her harmless forever, and only then was she able to confront the mistakes she'd made and become a better person for it.
**tl;dr:** Prospera didn't get punished because the show's whole thesis is that retribution doesn't solve problems and only makes them worse, and that the only way to break the cycle of violence is through reconciliation and dismantling of the tools and systems that allow people to hurt each other in the first place.

My first Gundam show and it was great. The fast pacing definitely made it a bit difficult for the plot to breathe, but that lack of downtime also meant that every episode was a hit. The entire scope could change in just a matter of three irl weeks.

That’s one of the best things about it too, there was never really a dull moment and because of that, the series didn’t overstay it’s welcome.
Sure, a movie or something as a finale might have been nice, but regardless, it was short, sweet and action packed

A movie finale wouldn’t of gone astray, and definitely fixed some pacing issues, but overall I didn’t mind the length. I think adding even an extra season would’ve diluted the series a bit too much.

In an interview, the writer said that the Prologue was initially meant to be released between seasons... but that they released it as a teaser before the show instead. As someone that has produced more than 44 hours of content centered around Witch from Mercury (34 hours more than the show gave us!) I can wholeheartedly agree with the recommendation to watch.

If there’s anyone interested, there’s light novels that tells a bit more about miorine past and Cradle Planet which is the story of Suletta told from the Aerial’s perspective
Also I think it’s an anime that you have to watch it with an open mind. I feel like Gundam fans that don’t like it’s because of the name. If you’ve been a long time fan of Gundam series, you expect war and political stuff but instead you get a happy colorful setting that can feel weird at first. I have to admit I forgot it was a Gundam series until episode 12
It definitely works to attract new people and it’s also kinda understandable why old fans might feel weird about it.
Personally it has become my favorite. I like symbolisms, good character development and I think it’s one if not the best relationship development in all of Gundam, it doesn’t feel out of nowhere like in other series, fantastic soundtrack and the openings and endings lyrics also tells you a bit about the story. I just loved it and you have convinced me to watch it a third time 😂 thanks man

lol i was bawling my eyes out during this entire show. 10/10
On a real note though this entire show just threw me into a emotional roller costar even watching this video some of the seens still impact me a lot i absolutely love this TV show and the IP. Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin had the same effect on me. The way they build these character's to feel like real people and the loss they have to go through is just so emotional. The part in WFM that probably hit me the hardest, spoiler warning BTW, is at the middle to end of season two where the body double of Elan Ceres, Enhanced Person Number 5 (just Elan for short), is trying to save Norea Du Noc and when it seems successful when she asked for his name Norea gets killed by a witch hunter sending Elan into a rage and leaving the seen. The tears were ENDLESS i say. Another seen like this is at the end of the show. When Elan is out exploring earth trying to find the places that Norea drew.
I personalty note this down as one of the better shows iv watched and i get it for people that don't like it it dose have some issues with it exspesully the ending.
TLDR (spoiler free): great show character's development great. Very sad moments!

i was a bit irked about it being another high school drama at the beginning, but I reminded myself that a lot of the Gundam series take as much care (or more) of the characters interactions than the mecha part of it. I'm a long time (20yrs +) female gundam fan. I love gundam, UC is my favorite setting, blah blah blah. I was excited to finally have a female protagonist, bit was ready to rip it apart if it was crap. It wasn't crap, it's wasn't good, it was really good. More importantly it retained the spirit of what I feel Gundam is, but also brought a lot of fresh thing to the show. It starts to explore how war and capitalism are intertwined, abusive family dynamics disguised as love, and I'd argue the best most believable character development of just about all gundam series. Also the combat kicks ass.

While I really enjoyed the first season of Witch from Mercury for it's use of visuals and animation. That goodwill went down the drain when it became obvious that the side plots that were set up during first season were either rushed into being pointless(Guel's time on earth, the Ceres 5/ Norea romance), replaced with new ones that make NO SENSE(Guel wanting revenge on Miorine?, getting rid of Gundam through Permet?!) or intentionally forgotten for the sake of the main plot( the secret of Eri's compatibility, the conflict on earth, GUND-tech, Dawn of the Fold). All in the name of reaching a conclusion that is happy on a surface level, and following Gundam Franchise logic of 'Breaking the cycle of revenge'.
I guess what I am saying is that it felt like the writers had a metaphorical gun to their heads to shove two seasons worth of content into the Second and final season. Ending up feeling like a rushed and incomplete mess that requires side material to fill the gaps.
Also maybe it's time that Gundam that should just play it straight with an antagonist of with twist or subversions, I mean that is why everyone loved Big Jack Horner from Puss in Boots

Second Gundam that I've watched. Given that the first one I watched was Iron Blooded Orphans, I was VERY happy that the main cast actually got a happy ending. I liked the more flashy laser-based combat after watching Barbatos beat everyone to death with a litteral club, and the slightly less serious tone. It still hit hard (like the soldier getting splatted at the end of S1) but isn't the constant gloom of the end if IBO.
I hope there's a third season since while the ending is nice, it was too short.
Where did all the scientists associated with Gundam development go? Surely not all of them were hired by Gund-arm, or were satisfied just working on just medicine. Just because the main conglomerate was dissolved and sold off doesn't mean that another won't take its place. Everyone everywhere has seen how powerful Gundams can be, and without the established players monopolizing its development smaller organisation will probably start their own programs in secret.

I can agree with nearly everything you have said, except for the Mecha Design (I really liked it), the Protagonist were boring to me when compared to Amuro Ray, the side characters in the other hand were pretty good, also the Ending to me is kind of trash, super rushed, you could make a 12 episode season out of the last 3 episodes.

The endings a hard pill to swallow for sure. I can’t lie; it definitely felt rushed. But not 12 more episodes rushed. I think it could’ve used one final movie to wrap everything up and it would’ve been perfect.

GBH, The Show have potential but the timeframe was not enough resulting in the show having an extremely rushed ending that didn't managed to resolve many problems that they set up. This resulted in rather lackluster character developments excluding Guel that had the most development. Suletta and Mirionne's relationship felt rather rushed especially in the end and lacking the needed chemistry for the two. They also did ChuChu dirty by making her a glorified taxi in the end of the series. To be honest, the series peaked in the end of season 1 and the beginning of season 2, with the war between earth and space looming closer and Suletta seeing the world she's used too be shattered making the stakes higher but they went with a deus ex machina in the end. I was hoping to see Suletta finally being able to think for herself and see first hand about consequences of her own actions. Like I said in the beginning a wasted potential like Seed Destiny.

    • @Viseak
      @Viseak  11 місяців тому +3

While I agree the ending was a little rushed, I don’t think it needed much more. At most a movie to wrap it up, anything more and I feel as though the series would’ve dragged a bit…
And I think it’s really disingenuous to say Guels the only character who got development throughout the series. If anything he’s vastly overshadowed by Suletta, Miorine and even Prosperas growth.
I wouldn’t say Suletta and Miorines relationship lacked chemistry either? They had as much if not MORE development in their relationship than any other Gundam protag we’ve seen.
Like I said in another comment, tragedy ≠ character development.
You straight up said Sulettas got no development with your full chest and how much you loved Guels character arc, but Suletta got a far deeper and more fulfilling character arc than him or ANYONE else in the series…
Idk if you like, missed the whole part where her world comes crashing down???
She looses the duel and the one person she was closest to, plus that same person betrayed her.
She looses Aerial, whom she’s clung to the entire series and even PRIOR to WFM’s events starting, as she’s ‘family’ after all.
Her mother kicks her out and no longer needs her anymore.
The school, her one new found place with some sort of normality and stability, is absolutely demolished in a terrorist attack.
Everything she once knew and loved was completely stripped away???
One thing I do agree on though, is Chuchu, and this extends to well, most of the side cast. There wasn’t much going on with many of them at all outside of maybe Guel and Elan at best?
WFM definitely ended up being the Suletta Miorine show, with a healthy dose of Prospera, and not much room for anyone or anything else. Which is a bit of a shame.
HOWEVER, when we take into consideration that the show was clearly intended to be character focused, and focused mainly on those 3’s growth, it doesn’t seem so bad.
      Because it achieves just that.
The only issue, and where I see where you’re coming from; is things like the Dawn Of The Fold. That thread probably never should’ve been open because it leaves us hanging a bit.
But regardless of all that. I still wouldn’t go so far as to consider the ending a dues ex machina. For it to truly be a DEM the main source of conflict would’ve had to be the Space Assembly League from the start, but they were just kinda chucked in at the end for spectacle and a nod to past Gundam series with the Giant Space laser trope.
The real conflict and what the whole story was about, was between Suletta and Prospera, and Suletta breaking free from her mothers stranglehold of her. And it was only through adversity and some tough love from those closest to her (Miorine) that she was finally able to take the rose coloured glasses off a stand up to her mother in the end.
So I don’t really get how you think Suletta didn’t think for herself here?
Plus it’s not like the issues of Ad Stella we’re even solved. You could barely say they were bandaided. Cause like I said it was never the intention of the series to fix them, instead, it focused on trying to fix Suletta.
Which in the end, it did. Albeit, ironically enough, after destroying her physically.
Idk man I’m doing a lot of talk for a show I still consider like, a 7 or 8 out of 10 at most, but from what you said, it seems like we didn’t even watch the same series?

I felt the series should’ve been a few more episodes. 26 or 27 probably would’ve rounded out most of the plot. It seems like the writers were expecting a full 50 episode series but was told about halfway through writing they would only get 24 plus the prologue. Lemme know if I’m wrong.

I absolutely loved WfM. It was much better than I was expecting it to be. Not that I was expecting it to be bad or anything. I just wasn't entirely sure what to expect after the prologue did one thing. Then ep1 did something else, if that makes sense.
Personally for me, WfM is probably my second favorite Gundam now after IBO. Suletta was an excellent MC. Prospera, while being a terrible person, was interesting. It was great watching Mio and Suletta slowly mature along the way too.
One thing I realized while watching this, is that Suletta and Eri are similar to Zeke and Van. What I mean is, that together, they are absolute animals when fighting. But also, incredibly strong by themselves. I know it wasn't intentional but just something I thought was kinda neat.

I'm honestly a person who holds the haters back and tell them "let em cook." I let em cook, taste it, and don't like it. Now, don't get me wrong, I love Suletta as a character, Bob's best boi, chuchu is best girl. Fight me. Prospera's scheme is entertaining. But that's about it. Sometimes, re-watching any anime, you notice some details that crack the image. And this show has so many cracks that you can't see anything. A lot of frame from frame copy and paste scenes from previous shows similar to gainax and trigger. The series' chaotic episodes are good, but only work once. Two school shooting episodes in the same season, one episode on the resistance feat. Bob, and a deep, also rushed ending (which is copy-paste gundam Unicorn ova 7). Almost everyone doesn't have enough, if not any screen time for me to care. No actions really have consequences. Honestly, a lot of stuff could have been better if it had been a 36-50 episode show. At first, it was my thoughts. Now it's just Witch in the Gundam. A cookie for anyone who gets that reference.

I really loved WFM for finally giving us a well rounded, likeable and engaging Protagonist. Ever since Wing the franchise struggled with that in my opinion. Save for maybe the somewhat bland Kira in SEED all the main Gundam Pilots (Hero, Setsuna, Mika) were just soulless, psychopathic badasses, which got real old real fast. WFM managed to break the mold here in an awesome way, and I will forever love it for that. That said, the Series felt a bit rushed and unecessarily convoluted in some parts. A few more episodes could have prevented that, but well, we got what we got. Also not a fan of the heavy use of space magic in this one. Not horrible by any stretch but overdone imo. The only real gripe I have with WFM are the effin gun bits. Ever since SEED/SEED Destiny introduced them (although they did make an appearance in Gundam X, if I'm not mistaken), I've hated these supermaneuverable, highly powerful little things that seem to require no input on behalf of the pilot. Just such a cheap way to make a mecha OP, which makes me wonder why even use a mecha in the first place, when these little things can seemingly do all the work, and do it better than the main suit. Bleh.

    • @Viseak
      @Viseak  8 місяців тому +1

Yeah Suletta was a HUGE pro for the series and a breathe of fresh air for sure.
It did feel a little rushed towards the end, but overall I think the series wrapped itself in a bow pretty nicely and stuck the landing all things considered. But an extra few episodes or movie finale would’ve gone a long way.
I’m not sure I share the sentiment on Gundbits though, I don’t hate them as a concept, and I mean they’ve technically been around since Zeta with the Quebely, but maybe they were a little TOO over powered in WFM. By that same token though, the Aerial was meant to be an insanely overbearing hurdle that any regular mobile suit would never be able to overcome, which it fits, and is why it becomes the final boss of the series.

    • @Peasham
      @Peasham 8 місяців тому

I seriously don't understand the space magic complaint, not only was everything that happened a result of in-universe technology and was set up as a thing the tech can do prior, it's FAR above the likes of Zeta's biosensor and is just generally a staple of the series.
Also, have you only watched AUs, or something?

    • @Cycronos

Well, different folks different tastes I guess. It's not that I find something inherently wrong with the concept of "magical" technologies, it's just not my cup of tea. I prefer it when it is more toned down, like the zero system in Wing or the "prostetic" interface in Thunderbolt for example. Mecha and huge structures turning into pixie dust, for lack of a better word, however...just a bit much for me.
Also pretty much guilty on the AU. Save for some of the OG MSG and Thunderbolt I haven't had much contact with the UC. The old artstyle just puts me off for some reason and the series were very difficult to find in Europe (or hugely expensive), back in my teenager days. So for me it was Wing and onwards.

    • @Peasham
      @Peasham 7 місяців тому

@@Cycronos You don't have to like it, I was just pointing out the fact that it's by no means magical, the Thunderbolt kiss summoning a literal thunderbolt to help Darryl and the Wing Zero, like, the whole thing, are in their universes infinitely more magical than G Witch's Permet. While I will admit that all the swirling little bits were visually stunning, they always create this weird "disconnect" between the pilot's skill/input and the suit's movement for me, and I don't like that. If Gundam found a way to visually represent the struggles a pilot goes through trying to move those external bits.... well, that'd be a different story.

-The visual and casting familiarity of it to harem anime that pander to lonely obsessives.

-The only thing I see being discussed about it is shipping and character pairings, of which watching paint dry is a preferable experience to me.

    -High school setting.
Perhaps I'm wrong about it and it's actually a deep show with themes about war and the nature of humanity similar to previous Gundam series and all the uninteresting mecha designs actually have hidden systems and mechanics that actually render them fascinating.
Wouldn't know and never will because everything apparent about it without actually watching it points to it being a vapid, uninspired, and uninteresting experience that offers none of what I love about the franchise and instead focuses on things I find boring or outright irritating about others.
First impressions count, and the first impression of WfM is barely short of the typically exceptionally poorly written isekai I dislike, so I have zero interest in it whatsoever.

I haven't watched it because it's not Universal Century. If it's Gundam but not Universal Century, I want nothing to do with it. I also heard G Witch is massive garbage from UA-camr, ItsaGundam, whose reviews I respect.

I’ve never really been a fan of anything outside the UC either.
Don’t really like Wing, IBO, 00 or anything, but WFM definitely struck a chord with me.
I’ve watched my fair share of ItsaGundam too, but obviously I don’t agree with everything he says, ie; the Witch From Mercury.
All that to say, I still think you should watch the show for yourself and make your own opinions on it, at the end you might still align with ItsaGundams thoughts, or maybe more so with mine, or you could find yourself somewhere in the middle who knows.
The shows performed well for a reason after all, and I reckon it’s the strongest story outside of UC Gundam

@@Peasham Dude he's a minority himself if you look him up, He just calls bs on how people on twitter thinks that all that matters is sexuality because those folks at twitter throw a fit when Gundam officially made the conclusion that g witch is up to interpretation which is think is the best way for audiences around the world, and that includes Asia (Yes Middle east is included because it is part of Asia just in case you're an American). Keep in mind Gundam anime exists to sell model kits as a bottom line, The last thing they want is to alienate audiences from other countries especially Asia which has the largest market for selling model kits.
Personally, I like G-Gundam Better since I like Dragon ball or any Action Shonen anime, Build Fighters Series is my 2nd Favorite due to the show resembling the Yu Gi Oh and Bayblade Anime. Other Gundam series feels too slow for me, and boring for me.

@@francisquebachmann7375 Right, he's pretending to be a Gundam fan, I'm well aware. Romance and love is the backbone, the main plot in plenty of cases, in any Gundam story outside of Igloo, even in "gritty" stories like Thunderbolt and ESPECIALLY 08th where it actually is the entire actual plot, no one ever claimed that "sexuality" matters, that's a vicious lie, Suletta and Miorine's romance matters, it is the backbone of the story, the story ceases to function without it and it is easily by far and away the best-written romance in the series, with basically the entire staff including the writer confirming that they are indeed supposed to be married canonically, with the person who said otherwise having not worked on the show in the least. Furthermore, I thought he was this huge free speech guy, yet the "interpretation" came after Kana Ichinose, the voice actor of Suletta, had her interview censored to remove any mention of the fact that Suletta and Miorine are married, all to appeal to people who won't even watch the show to begin with, like you.
Furthermore, people buy kits almost exclusively because they like the characters that are associated with them, and not only is G Witch the series with by far the most character merch out of any other Gundam series, not only is Shaddiq merch and mobile suits warming shelves because everyone hates him, but this series gets fanart daily, it is still gigantic, and most of that is off of the strength of Suletta and Miorine's relationship.
Also, the people I've seen the most pissed about the "interpretation"? Yeah, they're from those homophobic countries. This decision isn't meant to appeal to actual Gundam fans, actual Gundam fans are gay beyond belief, we LOVE this stuff, Bandai simply saw how gigantic the series was and decided to attempt to appeal to people like you, despite the glaringly obvious fact that the show is still incredibly gay and people like you wouldn't watch it anyway. No wonder then that they let the official English Gundam account caption images of Suletta sitting next to Miorine as Suletta sitting next to her wife, and no wonder that Ichinose was censored on only one specific version of the printed interview, they were trying to play both sides and then doubled down on the side that'd make them the least money.
This isn't marketing, this isn't maximizing profit, this is Bandai's utter and total incompetence and stupidity. I know it's hard for non-Gundam fans to understand, but maximizing profit would actually be confirming their relationship, as that is the actual majority of the people who love and support the show. I thought itsagundam was also against pandering to the minority of people who'll never watch your media, he's changing all his standards for this one!

There are gundam shows that people like and people don't like just deal with it.Touch grass and get a "hobby" because unlike you I do built and paint model kits. Yeah of course man that’s cool, plenty of people have aired their grievances in these comments alone and I love the conversation.
You’re allowed to like or dislike whatever it’s cool. Personally, I thought Suletta was a breathe of fresh air amongst Gundam protagonists, and much prefer her to the likes of Amuro. Personal favourites are still Kamille and Judau though.
But I also get the complaints about her, not everyone’s into the same things, and she doesn’t just get to escape criticism cause she’s a female lead. I just personally didn’t have a lot to criticise
I don’t **genuinely** believe people who have a problem with media like WFM or protagonists like Suletta are just straight misogynists or anything 😅
At the same time though, you do see a lot of pushback on series’ like this from people with some, clear biases against things like, a female lead, so I figure a bit of pushback against the pushback never hurts

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I'm happy we finally got a female Gundam pilot who is cannon, but Yuri rubs me the wrong way do to its rep and this isn't a healthy lesbian representation since this was forced upon the main character.

@@Viseak Mostly the plot and characters if you ask me (and yes, I'm an Amuro Ray fanboy), but I do love the mecha to be honest. The Zowort immediately won me over, as it's basically Armored Core mecha in a "Gundam" anime.
Suletta reeks way too much of Mary Sue to be a compelling Gundam protagonist, Miorine is just awful, hell, the only character I legitimately liked was Guel, 'cuz he has an actual character arc and if you ask me should've been the main character.
And then of course there's the ending, which is just a complete cop out asspull of an ending. Say what you will of Victory Gundam, but at least there was actual pathos in how it ended in that yes there is a happy ending, but at what cost.
We're probably not gonna see eye to eye on G-Witch, and it perfectly fine, 'cuz we're all Gundam fans here. I'm just giving my two cents to be honest.

@@mattmaddogwheaton4724 Thanks for extrapolating a bit man, comes off far better than ‘it’s shit’ lol
Great to see the Armored Core love/recognition is strong, this series’ designs definitely felt like it lended to the AC style in the beginning. A little for it’s detriment in my eyes but I still loved a lot of the MS’.
You’ve already kinda lost me citing Suletta as a mary sue though…
She’s almost, the opposite of that? She’s incredibly flawed and season 1 makes well to highlight that as much as it can, before absolutely dismantling her character, and building her back up in season 2.
The only ‘aspect’ of her character even remotely resembling that of a mary sue is how she’s a good pilot and wins duels right from the start.
But that single aspect doesn’t shove her into that character trope, ESPECIALLY when you consider it was Eri doing all the legwork in the end.
Then by the time the finale rolls around, she proves herself to still be a competent pilot in the Calibarn without Eri, and this is just shown to us when she can go toe for toe with her in the final fight.
It’s almost ironic how she’s ‘painted’ as a mary sue (KINDA; I use that term very loosely lol) because of how impressive she was at the start, then all that is diminished the more we learn about her and the Aerial. Only for that to be stripped away from her, and built back up towards the end.
Now don’t get me wrong, I liked Guel, but he was definitely a side character in the Suletta show. That’s a pretty valid complaint now that I think of it though, the show focused in a lot on Suletta / Miorine / Prospera and a lot of other characters got left in the wayside because of that. I didn’t mind it as I liked the story told in the end, because it was a far more personal one between these characters, but it’s a valid criticism for sure.
But back to Guel, the only thing I want to say is that tragedy ≠ character development. You straight up said Sulettas a mary sue with your full chest and how much you loved Guels character arc, but Suletta got a far deeper and more fulfilling character arc than him or ANYONE else in the series…
Her’s was just not as conventionally tragic. Sulettas growth was overcoming her toxic relationship with her mother which is just as valid as Guels experience, and made for a far more compelling character arc in my eyes. She was borderline sociopathic all because of her mothers guidance, so much so people thought she was mind controlled ala Bioshock ‘would you kindly’.
Breaking free from that in the end and becoming her own person (ironic as she’s technically an Eri clone) was a fantastic character arc, and when you consider that’s what the story was about all along, the ending suddenly doesn’t seem so bad either.
If anything, it was absolutely fitting for the series. Albeit, sure, it was a little rushed we can all admit that. But thematically it was perfect. I went on and on about all that in the video anyway but yeah 😅
We might not see eye to eye on this one for sure, I mean Amuro is bottom of the barrel as far as protagonists go in my eyes, but you’re right, we’re all Gundam fans here and we’d definitely find common ground somewhere haha
I’d love to hear what you like so much about Amuro though. No disrespect I just can’t stand the guy. Kamilles my goat through and through
