Keep in mind folks, this was the device that the original composers reportedly used to create the soundtrack in the first place. That's why it's the first option we allowed for MIDI. Don't forget that there will be Gravis Ultrasound and Soundblaster AWE32 soundtracks in patch 1.1. Coming soon!
The Gravis Ultrasound had an optional memory upgrade that boosted it to about 1MB of RAM. And it made a huge difference in the MIDI for TIE Fighter. The lower RAM version still sounded great, but you most definitely heard the improvement with more memory.
cool! maybe you could add some reverb to the roland soundtrack as well? it sounds a bit flat without it :) but still sounds great! That’s the way I played it in the 90is
I used to love how safety rails weren't a thing in the empire for the most part. Seeing those huge cavernous reactor cores on star destroyers and the techs crossing those walk ways with no rail lol.
I much prefer this to the more orchestrated Remastered version. There are still other variations that I like more and feel more familiar, but this comes close.
This is Awesome. Huge thank you to those that put in the time to record all of these tracks. I was just talking about how awesome it would be to have soundcard choices in classic game ports. Like Doom on the Switch, etc... Now if there was just a way to get the classic iMUSE system working..... 🤯
I actually preferred the iMuse version in spite of the lower 3d quality and would play that. I think this is clearly enough improvement to be worth losing iMuse. However I completely agree that if some programming wizard brought that back as part of this mod it would be basically perfect.
@@Thrawn420 X-Wing Alliance does use imuse, though not quite as dynamically as TIE Fighter did, but the music changes based on what's going on around you and you get ship cues when ships arrive or blow up.
I intend to release the soundtracks directly through ModDB at some point soon in the future yes. The game files will not allow you to play them outside of the game as they're encoded in its own file format.

34:56 "A _Rebel cruiser_ has entered the area! What's Harkov up to?!"
Games today can't touch games like this in depth and awesometude

lol.
Oh this takes me way back…
I love the arrival sequences at 34:57 and 39:58. Those bass runs are dynamite!
Reminds me of one mission where a calamari cruiser shows up outta no where. Wild shit.

That Midi is so Empire-ish. The rebels is like MT-32.
I dig it both.

11:54 best part ♫♪
Nice
Need a voice actor? I'm down! :) Worked on tons of games already.
Is there a way to download these tracks individually? If I download the mod, are the music files available inside?
