12.15.23. In order to completely clean and rebuild the carbs properly, the only way to do it is to unrack or uncouple them from each other. It’s necessary in order to change the O-rings for the gas inlet tees. I also use an ultrasonic bath machine, and I soda blast them. I have found that by doing both steps, and I completely tear them down to clean them internally, I’ve had no issues. I also use an electronic peaking manometer, from Digi-Sync™️ to synchronize the Carburetors❗️ it’s a lot of work, but it’s by far worth it. I also make sure I run the carbs out of fuel with the fuel enricher/choke open all the way to make sure the carbs are drained, if I let the bike set for more than two weeks with the shitty ass ethanol fuel we have today‼️ since I’ve instituted these actions I haven’t had to rebuild them.💁🏻♂️
GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND,it is challenging to get 40 year old bikes to run right STOCK.Modified bikes way more work. For my riding THROTTLE RESPONSE is the most important thing.Removing the airbox opens up adjusting a lot of jetting, change the exhaust adds another variable. Its a complex thing for sure best left to experts who have done this stuff for years.EITHER WAY GOOD LUCK,Windy
When syncing these carbs ...do the inside cylinders run richer or leaner compared to outside ...when adjusting the carbs ..do you or can you set the mixture with a infrared heat sencer on each exhaust pipe .. Thanks for the video... Yes..rotary vain compressors are too loud ..👍
Thanks. I just had a customer give me a free 1983 gs 1100 gk for free. She has 97k on here im sure it could use a carb clean. I also have a rd 400 as well. Mines a 1980 400 g canadian
I'm getting ready to do same carbs. I see you did the diaphragm part first. Once that's done, can the carb cleaner damage the diaphragm material from spraying all the little jet holes? It can't get in their right?
what about the emulsion tubes ? they need to be removed and cleaned ,or sometimes we get lucky by just spraying cleaner down in em and blowing them out ????
Hello sir I'm taking apart my car s in my gs1100.....for the life of me I cant get the needle valve out I can wiggle it but it just doesnt want to come out. I even mangled it trying to pull it out . I do have replacements
So got a 81gs1100 that sat for years runs like crap and gas leaks out of the carbs. Has VH exhaust and I want to do pods. Now a rebuild kit and a stage 3 kit should get the job done or doest the rebuild kits have larger jets?
Here's my advice, start whatever you do getting stock parts to work, good throttle response, etc.Pods require rejetting, same for non stock exhaust.Without stock parts you need somebody familair with these parts to get bike to run right.Leak is a viton tip shuttoff, tube between carbs o ring,or bowl gasket. It is a lot of trial an error to get this all working correctly.I have always gone back to stock parts in the end.Ill talk more on next Q&A.Windy

Best tool for this job is a JIS screwdriver.

@@windyurtnowski awesome thank you. Ps the vh ehaustvi took out the fiber glass and chucked it out😳
TRY TO AVOID THOSE DELICATE DIAPHRAGMS. PILOT JET HOLES ARE THE SMALLEST AND USUALLY THE CULPRIT IF BIKE DOES NOT RUN RIGHT.
Thanks
Kitchen sink?Thx neighbor.Great video though.
