'See You Later, Alligator' was written and first recorded by American singer-songwriter Bobby Charles (aka Robert Charles Guidry) in 1955. The melody of the song was borrowed from bluesman Guitar Slim's "Later for You, Baby" which was recorded in 1954. The song was a Top Ten hit for Bill Haley and His Comets in 1956 in the United States, reaching no. 6 on Billboard and CashBox. In the UK, the single peaked at no. 7.
With only a guitar you make it very enjoyable for listening.

@@RocknRollSongbookYou're welcome
Good job 💯
Thanks very much!
Great stuff, Jez! The L-00 is here and going through the 24 hours of getting acclimated to my home, temperature, humidity, etc., before I unbox it. I can’t wait to play it and hear it tomorrow! A little excited? I reckon so 🤠
Thanks very much! Exciting stuff. Did you go for the Standard? In England we have more of a problem with high humidity rather than dryness when it comes to guitars. I’m headed back to the US on Tuesday for a two week stay in Arizona. Gonna be hot n dry there! A friend of mine there has arranged a handful of small gigs for us.
@@RocknRollSongbook - Hi Jez, I did go for the standard with the hope that the slim taper neck would be a good fit for my hands. I think it will be good. What’s the neck like on the Studio (“advanced response” neck)? The body on the standard is comfortable and should be ergonomically satisfying as hoped for. Sounds really nice!
Yes, Arizona will be dry! Where I live, it can go either direction depending on the time of the year. I’m in the Midwest, it gets really hot and humid in the summer and really cold and dry in the winter.
I wish I could see you all play! I’m 1300 miles away from there darn it!
I hope you have some good fun and a good visit here in the states. 🤠
Hot dawg! You superbly replicated the entire song to a tee, just you on vocal, a rhythm and a lead guitar! Even the iconic ending! 🤯🤩🥰
Thanks very much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. - Jez 👍
