In 1984 Britain ruled the world and the charts with its music and the idea of all these stars coming together as one supergroup was almost unbelievable. The song and the charity that it became part of helped feed thousands if not millions and although it might not be popular with the woke people of today it was a moment in history. It has spawned follow ups which will never better the original but still helped make millions. People who were not around at the time will never truly understand the power or the thrill of this song at the time. Whether or not its lyrics stand the test of time is totally irrelevent. What it helped to do was so much more.
I absolutely agree with everything that you say. Thank you for watching 🙂👍

Thank you so much my friend 🙂💞
Both 1984 and 1989 versions would be a golden 1980s duet (if someone is interested to mix them).
I just don't think you can improve on the 1984 version. Thank you for watching 🙂💞
They should have let George Michael, Bono and LeBon sing the whole song as they were the best singers there!
Not forgetting Boy George nailing his vocals
How many people loved this record but doesn't give a tom tit about Ethiopia.
@@devilsdestiny2813 I'm sure there are
Someone needs to correct the transcript:
It was recorded on 1984
and NOT on 1994 !
I believe it’s a typo mistake …
@@elihassan1 Where does it say 1994???
Read the transcript - at 04:53
