You’re not proposing some secret jujitsu no one knows. It’s common knowledge. Also, Lingyang isn’t bad because he can’t clear. That was never the argument being proposed. He’s bad because he takes way more work for the same results Finally. Stop comparing Lingyang to Bennett. He’s not a 4 star support no one understands yet. He is a 5 star DPS with a damage dealing Outro skill and no supportive abilities outside of his Dupes.

yeah, that's the most important part. I ain't gonna touch Encore ever even if she is strong, her kit is pure snooze fest I might end up as sleep in the middle of the boss fight. Same reason I choose Spectro MC over Havoc MC, purely because I am sick of that gae arse woosh woosh sfx from Havac MC attacks.
@@vanil_iScream if you somehow manage get him to R1 or something, it reduces the chance of getting interrupted when he is in the air. meaning more time to finish his fast attacks.

Yes, exactly. People seems to care too much about playing the "best thing on the game" and just disregard everything else. I have Jiyan, and yes he's a beast and completely outstrips everyone else in terms of performance, but I just don't enjoy his playstyle, that's why I'm sticking to my Encore because she's enjoyable to play and adorable to watch. And I think that's the most important thing.
If I had a nickel for every time an ice centered permanent banner character from an in-game region related to china with a teenage male figure received a poor reputation in meta, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't alot, but its strange it happened twice
I main Lingyang in WuWa and Yanqing in Star Rail, why? Because I love them as a characters. Especially Yanqing. And I hate being bullied by the community for that. I have enough of people telling me awful things just because I like these characters. Please let people play and like whoever they want, don't treat them like I and other Yanqing fans were treated. Though I agree both Lingyang and Yanqing need a buff. I don't care about the numbers, I just don't want to be bullied anymore by the community.
Lingyang main,and precious yanqing main here (not to mention my fav character in genshin being scara/wanderer) At some point you just get used to a part of the community absolutely despising them for no good reason.lets just all have fun playing who we like and not kill literal cats over it
My advice to you is please ignore the community. In these games it's really not necessary to engage with these people who don't know how to have fun. I also play Lingyang, well because he dropped in the recuded beginners wishes. He plays just fine.
To be honest, I build yanqing and he was good, only in the start of the game , and I can’t even use him as a main dps , his damage is really low even with his best team ( RM,robin , aventurine,) and if you have jingliu you don’t have any reason to play him, I know that he is fun to play but I can’t clear the content with him because he already bad and the only issue to save him is make a full rework to his talent and traces
As a Yanqing and Lingyang main, I agree that those two are being hated on way too much, especially Yanqing. I know it's annoying, but don't mind the bullying too much. They're just a bunch of kids. But yeah I hope my precious bois will get a buff.
He was the character that caught my eye before the game was released and I knew I wanted him no matter how bad he might be because Especially in WuWa I can always skill diff it. He is the most fun character to play literally zooming around the battle in his enhanced mode it's so fucking fun
I do like playing the game on handicap mode and using him put me exactly on that difficult level for the exact dose of challenge I need to make my gaming needs fulfilling. Also being shorter than the rest has its own advantage and that means your hit box is also smaller compared to the rest. There is a great feeling of achievement being able to pull off and masterfully use the least liked character in any kind of game. Fist/guantlet users have no swing or back swing animation meaning the attacks can pull out much faster aka BAT (basic attack time)
My Opinion on Lingyang: *HE IS SOO FUN TO PLAY WITH* He is like perfect with my playstyle, I wanted to get him in my 5 star choice character because he is just giving _BEST BOY_ energy (which he is AND needs protecting at all cost in his quest which made me cry my eyeballs out) Also playing him was…. Easy? Like I don’t get why people hated him because yeah… i’ve seen videos and posts that he sucks but when I played him HE WAS FUN TO PLAY and complicated but for me… I love complicated move sets because it keeps my ADHD mind on HYPER MODE He is good at multiple enemies, like I literally wiped out a mob attack with him which suprised me But yeah.. that’s my opinion He has a complicated move set that needs to get used to but HE IS FUN than others
A higher skill ceiling should lead to better results right? It's honestly sad seeing a character this bad compared to the rest of the batch. I know not EVERY character is going to be viable but I do feel a little bad for the ones who are simply put: straight garbage.
It's weird because according to CN, he only deals around 5% less damage than Calcharro at S0. I feel like Prydwen is doing something different with their calcs

Apart from his story line, i like lingyanf. His playstyle is super fun. Yes, when it comes to meta, he cant compete with encore or/and calcharo but he does the job. You can defeat world bosses, hologram with him. Havent tried hin at tower yet. Im not maining him but he will be the next dps i will build once im done with my main dps.
the amount of work you have to do does not translate to the amount of damage he puts out.... Kuro did him dirty AND THIS IS INTENTIONAL! All of this has been brought up during CBT1 and 2. BUT THEY DID NOT FIX IT.
they did buff his outro, but that is not enough. It's like they didn't actually calculate the effective DPS of each character at all and just throw random numbers everywhere.

It’s a matter of time, and yes, in some time when more traces and better echos are obtained, he’ll make a much better damage output, the source is just common logic, after time people will be getting better echos
The only reason I'm mad at Lingyang is because he decided to be the 5-star from my beginner's Convene AND the character I get from losing the 50/50 for Jiyan. Plus he doesn't get as much from additional Wavebands like Jiyan, Jianxin, or Danjin do. So it's very hard to be happy about this. Don't hate his character, just mad that they gave me two copies of him. Would have nice to get something different.
@@XgoSolo Honestly he would have been a much better character if they made him into a sub-dps with nice buffs since Yinlin would be the first 5-star of that type. A little goofy that we have 3 dedicated main dps characters alongside Jiyan right at launch. I am willing to give him another shot since his JP voice actor is the guy who did Tanjiro in Demon Slayer.
@@SomeNoobHydra We should all check to make sure there isn't something wrong with summons right now, because on top of Lingyang I pulled 185 times on the limited banner and got only 1 danjin, which is when I got Lingyang again. Other than that, all I get from that banner is Chixia and Mortefi, I've yet to see another Danjin even on my standard banner pulls.
Easy fix for him would be: Support(s) that speed up your forte charge and slowdown it ticking (Making him staying in Liondance form more of the time) Support(s) that increase your damage whule you are not on contact with the ground (idk how dev can do it, but the simplest way is when plunging is available, all damage is increased) And off-field subDPS(s) that help increase Forte DMG. He isnt bad by any mean, he just isnt in his golden ear (yet)
@@Ponchik-md5uq that the worst part. He might be stuck there for a while like Keqing in Genshin. Until we got new supports (like Nahida for Keqing, or just Dendro as a whole) Until then, Lingyang will just be a clunky boii who love Liondancing on enemies face while exhuast their players

i actually like lingyang, but i also like to rush endgame so i end up building encore and havoc rover lmao, i chose him on the selector and i dont regret, when i beat tower im gonna build him
Well, same reason why I chose Encore as my main even before the release tier list and sim data came. I just love the character, it was just fortunate that she's the #2 highest dps resonator in the current meta, I couldn't care less if she wasn't.
To be honest, I joined Wuthering Waves a week ago and I chose as my first 5* Lingyang. I saw his playstyle a little bit and how it was compared to Gaming, a character I love to play, so that's the reason. Now I absolutely love him, even if I'm not that good maining him, but it's still fun :D
God damn. Just got done with the parry video so I can suck a bit less, and decided to watch this cause I love lingyang in spite of not having a copy of him at all lmao. This video was incredible, coming from a main user of the character, listing all his flaws, how to overcome them, why he’s good at certain things and coming to the hilarious conclusion that even at E6 he still kinda sucks. You’re hilarious too, man. Easily my favorite content creator I’ve found for this game, can’t imagine the work you put into these videos. I look forward to what you got coming in the future.
The dmg profile on prydwen is during the closed beta…. Sooooooo- dmg calculations are bad lmao, calcharo doesn’t have his swap tech anymore and jiyan got buffed since cbt2? I believe so at least
Funny how he is glacio while Yanqing is ice. Lingyang is actually my first 5 star but I never bothered to reroll. I am not really into meta and I could use a character that is played like a brawler.
Build him if you like him :) you need 3 dps for tower either way. I went with Lingyang (+verina), Jianxin (+mortefi) and Danjin(+taoqi). Got 24 stars with no issues 😇
Great vid! I really do like his playstyle and think he has a lot of potential. For me, he's just missing a little something to make his gameplay smoother. Hopefully, future characters/weapons/echoes can make that possible.
I started wuthering yesterday, as a person that quit genshin because I didn't really enjoy the combat system. People were saying good things about the combat and some clips looked pretty cool. I checked it out and on the free 5 star pull I picked lingyang.... because he looked the coolest. I really like his combat and I've never had a problem using him, he seemed really strong to me and I was surprised when I found out he's the worst 💀
I don't have a problem using him, and I don't consider myself all that skilled so.. I am also enjoying using Taoqi. Looking forward to finding more characters I love.
I loved ling yang When I first saw him And I use him as my main because I can’t really do healers that well or anything ranged and I didn’t want to use anything that had a sword because I always do and I wanted to do something different and ling yang just looked absolutely Adorable
he just isn’t fun to me personally… i got really lucky so i got a lot of 5 stars at the start of the game and he was boring compared to my other ones 😭 he doesn’t deserve the hate tho

ive learned hard from genshin to never let meta stop you from having fun in games. There is no correct way to have fun and choosing what you like to do is the best decision for anyone playing a game
Loved linyang a week before launch. Now he's c2 and I plan on bringing him to c6r5 no matter what people say :D I chose to adopt him, he is my son now ( I still play havoc rover anyway because I'm a massive scythe maniac. )
The new gauntlets and cryo support seem to fit him well . I'm happy for lingyang mains . Ppl have to realize that damage isn't everything and it's not like he can't clear every content , i just seen a lingyang do 10k plus per hit(during his ult) . He's doing just fine .

I actually reached the building before the quest using Jiyan and the train that flies around the area. With grapple, windqueller, and a dash, you can glide much further while losing less height, which I used to get to the building early (I didn't even know there was a quest that brought you there lol). No hate to Lingyang tho, he is still my favorite short king
about parrying - untill xiangli yao's reliase lingyang was my main and idk, i parried like everysingle circle with him, while having more trouble parrying with rover for some reasone. up until now i was sure lingyang (and must be all boxers as well) was just the best parry-unit of them all also my echos are somewhat shit and he manages aroung 1,5 dmg without forte for me. i was kinda surprised to hear fandom hate him that much. he never gave me any trouble. also felt like his stunning is on top as well, idk
So I searched up why lingyang is bad, your video was first to pop up, and I watched it. no one gave me a decent reason why he sucks I got him on my beginners pull, and out of pure spite I decided to build him and try to challenge abyss, thank you for the good reasons u give btw, I appreciate it, tho not gonna switch my boy with a shiny 5 star. I love him, and im gonna make sure he clears at least one cycle of abyss just out of pure spite haha
What people aren't getting about WuWa (and why I don't like comparing it to Genshin) is that it's an Action Game first and foremost. The nature of a character's attacks are often times going to be more important than the numbers, and while the nature of how characters work in gacha games are often evenly split between that and numbers (like comparing a theorhetical max of a character to that characters intended use case), WuWa heavily pushes its action focused gameplay in a way that makes numbers less important. Take Rover-Spectro for example. In Genshin there's a lot to consider when looking at viability, so much so that you can often be split into several different thought processes regarding it. The first thing I noticed about Rover wasn't damage or ease of use or even team synergy. It was their Aftertune HA allowing them to easily extend combos and their skill allowing for flexible extention and even being a powerful and flashy combo ender. WuWa plays like an enemy juggle sim, and when it doesn't your in boss fights where your literally getting rewarded for not getting hit. Characters that would be dog-ass in Genshin are better because the games are different down to the core, and it's important to acknowledge that when looking at everything regarding viability. TL;DR: Stop playing this game like Genshin look at it like DMC. That would be a more accurate representation of how useful characters are (in my opinion at least)
bad or not, I love him. he’s the entire reason I started the game- I wasn’t interested until I saw him. I didn’t wanna add another game to my daily grind because I was getting tired with just genshin and sky cotl.. and mroe recently adding afk journey to it. but lingyang made me cave I was SO happy to of got him as my first 5 star, I think within 3-5 days of playing (defo would of been sooner but the start was so boring that it took me like 2 days to even unlock wishing, and another few to unlock dailies 💀) (the game became WAY more enjoyable after getting a character I actually liked tho. if I hadn’t got him I probably would of played WAY less- well, until I heard about the free 5 star XD) he’s such a cutie, and he’s so fun to play. and honestly I get better results- both damage and dodge/parry wise- than I have with jiyan. maybe it’s because his echoes have more effort in them, sure.. but they still have similar stats so it’s not that big a difference. it could also be bc I’m more used to using him more lol, since I had him longer and such the parry and dodge isn’t really an issue since you want to be in his.. I don’t rmbr the name, but the air lion dancing mode, for most of the time. and when you’re not, the basic attack combo.. isn’t even that hard? like you just spam 3 basic attacks, then go skill - atk - skill - atk over and over until you have to break the rotation, or I think it automatically stops after a certain amount? idk, but it’s been easy for me lol everytime I bring jiyan on the field he dies.. way too quickly, especially bc he’s stuck to the ground more. the only character I’ve had better time surviving as.. is verina. who is ranged and heals lmao also everytime I use jiyan’s burst, he stands still for a second? and it’s super annoying bc he gets hit in that phase and I can’t move him it’s so annoying

I don't really care about the meta of this game, I like Lingyang's gameplay style and I'm investing a lot on him, I've already done all the bosses just using him and it was really quick tbh. I don't care what people say like "oh this character is rubbish, why did you invest in him?". I like to play the way I think it's fun, and doing bosses, and farming just using it I have a lot of fun Good video new sub 👍

As a S1 encore haver I would say i am both sad i didnt get lingyang mostly for the midair combat but very happy i got encore cause ngl she, aalto, camellya and scar are the only characters with personality in the story(as of rn) and maniac child
how do they calculate the damage? is this based on no equipment characters? cos my ling yang has 4 echoes with glacio main stat... and he deals the same damage as my calcharo with 33/200 crit stats
It's all on an excel sheet with all damage multipliers and same base stats with a very heavy assumption that you can land every single hit and not get interrupted while doing damage. That's why in the video he said if you can land hits and dodge/ parry, any character can do the job. The meta characters give around 10-30% more dps with the same effort
The thing is, he isn't so bad that he become unplayable. it just that he isn't one of the best which is enough to scare away a lot of people but I do think that they are exaggerating it For me even if Rover is bad I would still play her cuz I like her and I'm sure Lingyang and Chixia main would agree that even the "worst" character in the game isn't as bad as some character in other game, but for most people there is no reason to use him since people only use the chara they like or if that chara help their fav chara to be better (Verina for example, most people don't care about her as in they don't like or dislike her in particular but she is just so good that they use her anyway purely for Meta)
Lingyang was my first and not desired character, but he grew on me, when i started to use it. And from that week of use, i have to disagree, about parry part. I might be weird, but from my experience parrying with him and Jianxin is much easier than with other characters. I even started playing around parries much more, after i got him, because i alreadty started to do them by accident. Skill issue? Maybe, but i will stand by fact, that gauntlet users have easiest time parrying attacks with their attack speed, lingering animations and just a fact, that many of those attacks are multihits, and parry counts as long, as one of those hits connects with parry window. Only thing why i still not value that much is fact, that Jianxin exists. And as long as her dps is enough to clear, i'll take any day her kit over aerial combat, no matter how fun it is. But then, we need 3 teams.
When you wanna play Lingyang (so I can deal with the heron and other enemies that fly up instead of standing there unable to do anything) but you have every other character except him on ur acc
Legit tho I've gone through the early game maining Lingyang and have recently got Jiyan. Sure, Jiyan is technically way better but hes so much more boring. I like bouncing between enemies through the air too much and the higher skill needed makes Lingyang more fun even if I mess up more often

I pulled Jianxin first for her utility (shield and heal), but Im building her to be a DPS I was gonna pull Lingyang next, but given your video, I may just pull for Jianxin's cons (on the beginner banner)
Jianxin has a different role. She's a gauntlet user that has slow attack speed, and is a shielder/healer. Her dps isn't the best, but her liberation is extremely useful in trial of adversity. She's like the venti of Wuwa. Lingyang on the other hand is a main dps unit that excels in ripping bosses apart. He can't be played solo like Calcharo or Jiyan. Lingyang needs a full team or at least one other unit in the team so he can abuse his outro, which instantly deals 587% of his attack to a small aoe.
Everybody hating on Lingyang until a Character who buffs Basic attacks and buffs it more per Hit. (This video never mentioned his hit count). Mortefi's Fireball's only trigger per button on the Basic/Heavy attack. Imagine a coordinated attack that trigger PER HIT.

The only benefit for lingyang users is that His/her skill is not thay flashy makes it easier to see enemy attack animation that makes it easier to dodge, best for mobile users. Other than that, just delete your account if you get him twice and not calcharo or verina in your account
Oh dang, I thought danjin was hard mode, man I want to say I feel you, but nah I don't think lingyang is even remotely close comparable to danjin. With all the work done danjin at least has some numbers to throw at enemies, and her kit is rather good to support you when dodging or parrying Anyways, you have my respect for maining a "conventionally bad" character, I subscribed :)

I actually like lingyang's play style just needs more damage but overall i like style saved me from ground AoE a lot of times
Yeah. People say he's vulnerable in midair because of only one dodge, but they ignore the fact that he can cheese half of the bosses attacks

My advice to you is please ignore the community. In these games it's really not necessary to engage with these people who don't know how to have fun. I also play Lingyang, well because he dropped in the recuded beginners wishes. He plays just fine.
Please.. tell me how to build Yanqing and how to play him. I also want to make him viable in my calyxes that need an Ice DPS
To be honest, I build yanqing and he was good, only in the start of the game , and I can’t even use him as a main dps , his damage is really low even with his best team ( RM,robin , aventurine,) and if you have jingliu you don’t have any reason to play him, I know that he is fun to play but I can’t clear the content with him because he already bad and the only issue to save him is make a full rework to his talent and traces
As a Yanqing and Lingyang main, I agree that those two are being hated on way too much, especially Yanqing. I know it's annoying, but don't mind the bullying too much. They're just a bunch of kids. But yeah I hope my precious bois will get a buff.

He was the character that caught my eye before the game was released and I knew I wanted him no matter how bad he might be because Especially in WuWa I can always skill diff it. He is the most fun character to play literally zooming around the battle in his enhanced mode it's so fucking fun
and his outro damage can rip bosses apart.
I do like playing the game on handicap mode and using him put me exactly on that difficult level for the exact dose of challenge I need to make my gaming needs fulfilling.
Also being shorter than the rest has its own advantage and that means your hit box is also smaller compared to the rest.
There is a great feeling of achievement being able to pull off and masterfully use the least liked character in any kind of game. Fist/guantlet users have no swing or back swing animation meaning the attacks can pull out much faster aka BAT (basic attack time)
My Opinion on Lingyang:

He is like perfect with my playstyle, I wanted to get him in my 5 star choice character because he is just giving _BEST BOY_ energy (which he is AND needs protecting at all cost in his quest which made me cry my eyeballs out)

Apart from his story line, i like lingyanf. His playstyle is super fun. Yes, when it comes to meta, he cant compete with encore or/and calcharo but he does the job. You can defeat world bosses, hologram with him. Havent tried hin at tower yet. Im not maining him but he will be the next dps i will build once im done with my main dps.

the amount of work you have to do does not translate to the amount of damage he puts out.... Kuro did him dirty AND THIS IS INTENTIONAL! All of this has been brought up during CBT1 and 2. BUT THEY DID NOT FIX IT.
they did buff his outro, but that is not enough. It's like they didn't actually calculate the effective DPS of each character at all and just throw random numbers everywhere.

The only reason I'm mad at Lingyang is because he decided to be the 5-star from my beginner's Convene AND the character I get from losing the 50/50 for Jiyan. Plus he doesn't get as much from additional Wavebands like Jiyan, Jianxin, or Danjin do. So it's very hard to be happy about this.
Don't hate his character, just mad that they gave me two copies of him. Would have nice to get something different.

@@SomeNoobHydra We should all check to make sure there isn't something wrong with summons right now, because on top of Lingyang I pulled 185 times on the limited banner and got only 1 danjin, which is when I got Lingyang again.
Other than that, all I get from that banner is Chixia and Mortefi, I've yet to see another Danjin even on my standard banner pulls.

Easy fix for him would be:
Support(s) that speed up your forte charge and slowdown it ticking (Making him staying in Liondance form more of the time)
Support(s) that increase your damage whule you are not on contact with the ground (idk how dev can do it, but the simplest way is when plunging is available, all damage is increased)
And off-field subDPS(s) that help increase Forte DMG.
He isnt bad by any mean, he just isnt in his golden ear (yet)

Well, same reason why I chose Encore as my main even before the release tier list and sim data came. I just love the character, it was just fortunate that she's the #2 highest dps resonator in the current meta, I couldn't care less if she wasn't.
okay, so the advancetage of the gauntlet is when you swap attack . the character lunge forward. it was meant to close the gap more than anything.
To be honest, I joined Wuthering Waves a week ago and I chose as my first 5* Lingyang. I saw his playstyle a little bit and how it was compared to Gaming, a character I love to play, so that's the reason. Now I absolutely love him, even if I'm not that good maining him, but it's still fun :D
God damn. Just got done with the parry video so I can suck a bit less, and decided to watch this cause I love lingyang in spite of not having a copy of him at all lmao. This video was incredible, coming from a main user of the character, listing all his flaws, how to overcome them, why he’s good at certain things and coming to the hilarious conclusion that even at E6 he still kinda sucks. You’re hilarious too, man. Easily my favorite content creator I’ve found for this game, can’t imagine the work you put into these videos. I look forward to what you got coming in the future.

I started wuthering yesterday, as a person that quit genshin because I didn't really enjoy the combat system. People were saying good things about the combat and some clips looked pretty cool. I checked it out and on the free 5 star pull I picked lingyang.... because he looked the coolest. I really like his combat and I've never had a problem using him, he seemed really strong to me and I was surprised when I found out he's the worst 💀

Loved linyang a week before launch. Now he's c2 and I plan on bringing him to c6r5 no matter what people say :D I chose to adopt him, he is my son now ( I still play havoc rover anyway because I'm a massive scythe maniac. )
The new gauntlets and cryo support seem to fit him well . I'm happy for lingyang mains . Ppl have to realize that damage isn't everything and it's not like he can't clear every content , i just seen a lingyang do 10k plus per hit(during his ult) . He's doing just fine .

I actually reached the building before the quest using Jiyan and the train that flies around the area. With grapple, windqueller, and a dash, you can glide much further while losing less height, which I used to get to the building early (I didn't even know there was a quest that brought you there lol). No hate to Lingyang tho, he is still my favorite short king
about parrying - untill xiangli yao's reliase lingyang was my main and idk, i parried like everysingle circle with him, while having more trouble parrying with rover for some reasone. up until now i was sure lingyang (and must be all boxers as well) was just the best parry-unit of them all
also my echos are somewhat shit and he manages aroung 1,5 dmg without forte for me. i was kinda surprised to hear fandom hate him that much. he never gave me any trouble. also felt like his stunning is on top as well, idk

What people aren't getting about WuWa (and why I don't like comparing it to Genshin) is that it's an Action Game first and foremost. The nature of a character's attacks are often times going to be more important than the numbers, and while the nature of how characters work in gacha games are often evenly split between that and numbers (like comparing a theorhetical max of a character to that characters intended use case), WuWa heavily pushes its action focused gameplay in a way that makes numbers less important.
Take Rover-Spectro for example. In Genshin there's a lot to consider when looking at viability, so much so that you can often be split into several different thought processes regarding it. The first thing I noticed about Rover wasn't damage or ease of use or even team synergy. It was their Aftertune HA allowing them to easily extend combos and their skill allowing for flexible extention and even being a powerful and flashy combo ender.
WuWa plays like an enemy juggle sim, and when it doesn't your in boss fights where your literally getting rewarded for not getting hit. Characters that would be dog-ass in Genshin are better because the games are different down to the core, and it's important to acknowledge that when looking at everything regarding viability.
TL;DR: Stop playing this game like Genshin look at it like DMC. That would be a more accurate representation of how useful characters are (in my opinion at least)

he’s the entire reason I started the game- I wasn’t interested until I saw him. I didn’t wanna add another game to my daily grind because I was getting tired with just genshin and sky cotl.. and mroe recently adding afk journey to it. but lingyang made me cave
I was SO happy to of got him as my first 5 star, I think within 3-5 days of playing (defo would of been sooner but the start was so boring that it took me like 2 days to even unlock wishing, and another few to unlock dailies 💀) (the game became WAY more enjoyable after getting a character I actually liked tho. if I hadn’t got him I probably would of played WAY less- well, until I heard about the free 5 star XD)
he’s such a cutie, and he’s so fun to play. and honestly I get better results- both damage and dodge/parry wise- than I have with jiyan. maybe it’s because his echoes have more effort in them, sure.. but they still have similar stats so it’s not that big a difference.

the parry and dodge isn’t really an issue since you want to be in his.. I don’t rmbr the name, but the air lion dancing mode, for most of the time. and when you’re not, the basic attack combo.. isn’t even that hard? like you just spam 3 basic attacks, then go skill - atk - skill - atk over and over until you have to break the rotation, or I think it automatically stops after a certain amount? idk, but it’s been easy for me lol
everytime I bring jiyan on the field he dies.. way too quickly, especially bc he’s stuck to the ground more. the only character I’ve had better time surviving as.. is verina. who is ranged and heals lmao
also everytime I use jiyan’s burst, he stands still for a second? and it’s super annoying bc he gets hit in that phase and I can’t move him it’s so annoying
Long time ago, i learned not to give af about other opinions and try everything on my own. In day 1 i played Lingyang quest, turns out he's super good to me.
I don't really care about the meta of this game, I like Lingyang's gameplay style and I'm investing a lot on him, I've already done all the bosses just using him and it was really quick tbh. I don't care what people say like "oh this character is rubbish, why did you invest in him?". I like to play the way I think it's fun, and doing bosses, and farming just using it I have a lot of fun

As a S1 encore haver I would say i am both sad i didnt get lingyang mostly for the midair combat but very happy i got encore cause ngl she, aalto, camellya and scar are the only characters with personality in the story(as of rn) and maniac child
how do they calculate the damage? is this based on no equipment characters?
cos my ling yang has 4 echoes with glacio main stat... and he deals the same damage as my calcharo with 33/200 crit stats
It's all on an excel sheet with all damage multipliers and same base stats with a very heavy assumption that you can land every single hit and not get interrupted while doing damage. That's why in the video he said if you can land hits and dodge/ parry, any character can do the job. The meta characters give around 10-30% more dps with the same effort

The thing is, he isn't so bad that he become unplayable. it just that he isn't one of the best which is enough to scare away a lot of people but I do think that they are exaggerating it
For me even if Rover is bad I would still play her cuz I like her and I'm sure Lingyang and Chixia main would agree that even the "worst" character in the game isn't as bad as some character in other game, but for most people there is no reason to use him since people only use the chara they like or if that chara help their fav chara to be better (Verina for example, most people don't care about her as in they don't like or dislike her in particular but she is just so good that they use her anyway purely for Meta)

Lingyang was my first and not desired character, but he grew on me, when i started to use it. And from that week of use, i have to disagree, about parry part. I might be weird, but from my experience parrying with him and Jianxin is much easier than with other characters. I even started playing around parries much more, after i got him, because i alreadty started to do them by accident. Skill issue? Maybe, but i will stand by fact, that gauntlet users have easiest time parrying attacks with their attack speed, lingering animations and just a fact, that many of those attacks are multihits, and parry counts as long, as one of those hits connects with parry window. Only thing why i still not value that much is fact, that Jianxin exists. And as long as her dps is enough to clear, i'll take any day her kit over aerial combat, no matter how fun it is. But then, we need 3 teams.

Legit tho I've gone through the early game maining Lingyang and have recently got Jiyan. Sure, Jiyan is technically way better but hes so much more boring. I like bouncing between enemies through the air too much and the higher skill needed makes Lingyang more fun even if I mess up more often

Jianxin has a different role. She's a gauntlet user that has slow attack speed, and is a shielder/healer. Her dps isn't the best, but her liberation is extremely useful in trial of adversity. She's like the venti of Wuwa. Lingyang on the other hand is a main dps unit that excels in ripping bosses apart. He can't be played solo like Calcharo or Jiyan. Lingyang needs a full team or at least one other unit in the team so he can abuse his outro, which instantly deals 587% of his attack to a small aoe.
Everybody hating on Lingyang until a Character who buffs Basic attacks and buffs it more per Hit. (This video never mentioned his hit count). Mortefi's Fireball's only trigger per button on the Basic/Heavy attack. Imagine a coordinated attack that trigger PER HIT.

The only benefit for lingyang users is that His/her skill is not thay flashy makes it easier to see enemy attack animation that makes it easier to dodge, best for mobile users. Other than that, just delete your account if you get him twice and not calcharo or verina in your account
Oh dang, I thought danjin was hard mode, man I want to say I feel you, but nah I don't think lingyang is even remotely close comparable to danjin. With all the work done danjin at least has some numbers to throw at enemies, and her kit is rather good to support you when dodging or parrying
