I can so relate to this song. I was incarcerated back in 2003 for living a very wicked life and my family was suffering horribly from my sins but God had a remarkable plan in the making. I made life hard on myself and my family but one night I heard a message at Prison Fellowship and in this message I knew that I needed a Savior. That night I knew that the Lord had a plan for my life. I had to serve another 9 years incarcerated but I knew that God was doing a tremendous work in my life. I have been out since 2012 and have been serving the Lord and life is amazing in Christ. From a desert road He has led me to streams of living waters. Great song from Casting Crowns
I liked it. Yes I would like some more. But don't give up on the hymns. I really like it when you give the history and go over the words and sing. I like it when you pray. Thank you for this wonderful program.
Yes, I enjoyed this as I don't hear all the words & I would never have understood or gotten out of the song what you did, so thank you as I do like Casting Crowns & will happily listen to this song again but now my eyes are opened - I will hear it in a more fuller way! So thank you for your insights. Blessings until your Sunday worship half hour which I look forward to each week. Listening from Australia
Luke you have done something so very amazing again by taking this song and bringing it directly to us. Music speaks to my heart and takes me to places that I can't seem to go to on my own. Thank you for all your amazing Christian work. 🙏🙌🙏
Thank you Luke for breaking it down for me. Bringing important facts to light. Casting Crowns are standing the test of time. God gets all the glory! I love your Classic Hymns since the Lord called me back to praise Him with them. On my lips first minutes of my day. I’ve been a long time defender of Christian contemporary music in our church. But the Lord is doing something different in me and I pulled out a hymnal & a hymn history book and falling inlove with them again. I’m even sharing hymns with people in the hospital to remind them of the theology written there. Casting Crowns continues to write theological poems, just beautiful. Also I love how you hear with your heart!
Such a joy to watch your joy Luke in the music. What a blessing as you share your thoughts of this beautiful song. Really excited with this new series- Luke Listens
Love it! Especially your spiritual insights and little gems about the music. I doubt I would have really taken note of it if you hadn't done this. It's an amazing song.
Luke! You took me back to being a teenager with my friends listening to punk and ska music and breaking it down, replaying our favorite parts😂 I lean toward folk / indie sound in worship but it is so nice to see the song and appreciate it through your eyes.
Luke, I love this way of presenting the songs, I am looking forward to the rest! I love how you bring our attention to the Bible verses. I have listened to the song in the week, when I saw that you are going to do it, and I loved it. But now it is so much more meaningful. I am also going to add more Casting Crowns's music to my Worship list of songs. Thank you!
Have heard a couple of videos of a commentator presenting a song which have not gone the distance for me..they irritate, but here Luke, as I could only expect, does a great job, so professional as to switching from the song to his own speech ,, and such worthwhile comments, speaking to the heart as does the song.
Thank you Luke! Love Casting Crowns inspiring Music! It was so breathtaking to hear this powerful song again! Thank you again for sharing the faithful meaning of this Song “Desert Rose”. BLESSINGS!
@Luke Powell I came across your station a few months ago. I love the old hymns, but I also love a lot of different genres of Christian music ( not all of them are worship music in my opinion, but good clean music) anyway I love this reaction videos tonight. This video was so fun I love seeing your reactions and feedback. It was so timely this song for what I'm going through. Thank you for posting this song brother! PS: I went to the casting crowns 20th anniversary concert in October 🤯- what a worship session that was!
He has a terrible voice. Almost as bad as Phill Driscoll. Most modern songs are more focused on us and our dilemmas rather than the majesty of Almighty God. Although there are a few good ones like, “gone, gone, gone, gone, yes my sins are gone.”

I bet he sings better than you.
