Thank you for making these videos. I lost my Mother young and I'm trying to learn stuff like "how to store sugar" which a lot if us take these lessons for granted.
My Dad did his best im not ungrateful. I just never learned how to keep a nice home.
I have one of those brown sugar things. My Dad gave me everything my mom ever had and i honestly don't know what half of it is because my Dad didn't know either.
You are filling a gap for another woman taken from this earth too soon. So thank you because some of us are flying blind.

I used to help my great grandfather make molasses. As a kid we would go to the garden and collect the stalks of sugar cane and take it to my grandfather to feed into the grinder stones to extract the sugar juice. We used to live off of the garden. Thanks Shelby for bringing back sweet memories.

For the brown sugar, if you do not have a bear, you can throw a piece of bread in your container. The bread dries out instead of the sugar. Lasts a long time. Been doing for years, works great!

Shelby, I have said it before and will say it again...I think you and I are twins separated at birth...LOL We are so very much alike
I totally agree with the brown sugar. I have been making my own for years now. Also, because I am keto now as well, I just make my own sweeteners (erythritol, stevia, xylitol) and add the molasses to that as well. Would never purchase store bought for either. I also make my own powdered sugar as you do, however I never add the cornstarch. I do it for confectioners sugar as well as a powdered keto friendly sugar.
Had a vitamix to begin with, but actually changed to a blendtec as I dont need to stand by it and use a tamper. It is powerful enough to mix on its own. That thing could liquify a phone...LOL
I cant imagine my life without my Kitchen aid. It is used daily here for so many things as well.

Excellent video. May I suggest you try organic raw sugar, instead of white. I used it for years, until I was unable to get it locally. I refuse to support the big box corporate stores anymore. I found an Amish store that’s only 3 hours from us
They sell bulk & I can get 25 -50# bags of organic all purpose flour, raw organic sugar, rolled oats, etc. This particular store offers a 15% discount if you order bulk items, ahead. Their prices are comparable to big box & better quality. Support small personally owned businesses 💖
