This is one of the most incredible RC vehicles I've ever seen. You, sir, may have inspired me to return to RC modeling after a very long time out of the hobby. I LOVE steam punk stuff, and now I will build one of these contraptions for myself.
Thank you for the great craftsmanship!

I fucking adore this thing. The chassis, the steam engine, the drive train, even the paint job. I can see the basic layout of the drive shaft geared down and then driving some power transfer in the nose that turns it back on the front suspension. I'm guessing you salvaged the front suspension from something and heavily modified it. Everything fits together really well to give it a very rough / strong appearance. Kudos to you for an excellent design. If I ever get around to my solenoid engine RC project, I think I'll loosely base my chassis on yours!

for any one who doesnt know how a steam engine works, is like a steam train. you put coal or wood in a fire to that has a tube(s) sitting above it and the tube(s) go through what is called a boiler that has water in it in thus the tubes heating the water and the steam created goes through another tube leading to the pistons. in the pistons a valve lets the steam in and another lets the steam out. making 1 rotation of the pistons of every set of valves opening. you can also use compressed in it.

  • @Metal-Possum

A tricycle by nature is the same as a tripod. Independent front suspension doesn't seem necessary since the rear wheel will freely roll to compensate the changes in terrains. All I can think of now is that the model is even less stable than before.
Still, the steam power idea is nifty.
