Nice kit, as far as the tail decal, it's your kit and you build and decal it how you want, but I use the decal for historic accuracy, and that's all I'm going to say about that, keep the builds coming.
Unbelievable precise and detailed art ! What a skill to achieve the realism... Congratulations !!! 😲👍😲 ( I am certainly not a nazi fan... but Bf-109 without a tail swastika is kind of soup without salt... ) Many thanks for a gorgeous skills sharing ! Your canopy & cockpit section is stunning...
Great build yet again. Your Mottling is looking great and has come on a treat it's a difficult skill to master for a new airbrushed like me so thanks for all the tips n tricks you give on all your vids. Keep modelling on Mr C Scale
Great build! I think historical accuracy demands completeness which requires swastikas. I wonder if they are required to be at all competitive in a competition. It's not about sensitivity or ideology--no more than modeling using Balkankreuzes, hinomarus or even Messerschmitts. I like the new Eduard decals. The total lack of carrier film, especially around lettering and numbers, seems a more than fair trade for the extra care & time involved; I well remember the time when modelers had no choice about this.
Turned out real nice. Would be nice if Eduard would release a video of their own demonstrating how they intend for their new decals to be applied, rather than everyone having to try to figure it out on their own.
Removing the film is not the issue fir me, I have done it successfully and unsuccessfully and that’s down to my own errors, what is beyond dispute is the print quality and colour, it’s just hopeless
Hey Jason another great video- i was recently building a 1/48 scale ICM kit which didn’t have locater pins either, i had to abandoned it there was an engine to go in as well, very ambitious from ICM.
Excellent work, weathering looks great. I try to cut as close to decals as possible, but some decal shapes don’t allow it, so you have to deal with the carrier film. But you are correct, they could do a better job with quality as you had with the aftermarket ones.
one tipp to the rivet decal details i learnd to using a stifer syntetic brush to stamp the decal afther seting almost down in to the surface, if you supf a cigarett use the same presure to tap on the decal with the brush and it will sattel down super ! :) do this just a bit it does not need mutch . and the solution (i am using mr hoobys mark setter ) < just the setter softner isent realy nessesery,. the best for fidrent beginners will be to try this on a cheper model at first.
Great build Jason 👏 love the scheme. Carry film (silvering) always difficult to achieve that painted on look even with all the will world. But outstanding finish. Happy modelling.
A lovely build of an F, reckoned by some to be the best looking variant of the 109. Excellent mottling too, Jason, it looks just right to my eyes. Overdone or underdone it cam mar a good finish, a bit like weathering.
Nice job. I'm doing Eduard's FW190A-5 right now. It says copyright 2021, so; I'm assuming I have decals with the heavier carrier film. I have dealt with Tamiya's decals so I guess I'll be alright. Hope so. Anyway. Very nice Messerschmitt.
Also, you can make your own decal sol…20% Enamel thinners to 80% distilled (deionised) water!!! Works a treat, there’s a video on my channel under tutorial playlists 👍👍👍
Hello, what is the best acrylic paint for airbrushing, i am using valejo paints and clear but im not happy with the clear coat, what do you use for clear ?
Are you letting the Eduard decal set for at least 12 hours? Also when you put them in the water to loosen them it should be dipped 2-3 seconds max. Soaking too long will ruin them. This is how I’ve done it and haven’t had an issue peeling the carrier film. I use Micro Set and Sol also. Just a tip if you weren’t doing it this way. I asked a lot before using them myself. Great build. I have the same kit and will be building it next for a group build.
i've built many 48th f4s from eduard since their initial release to this day; with each build the fit of the wingroots and radiators became noticeably bad. so you are not alone there - it might simply be an issue with their moulds coz they did milk the f and g over the years.
Very well done as usual. I understand German aircraft didn't have much weathering and paint chipping, is that true? Eduard is releasing a model of the f4f wildcat I sure hope you build one!
Hey there I'm just asking it's not related to this video but When you build tamiya tank modles Do you have to use glue and paint? Idk if you know gundam or gunpla But gunplas snap fit (look it up) can i not just do that with tank modles from tamiya? Do I have to paint and use glue or cements?
If you're that sensitive about using a swastika in an accepted and understood historical context then maybe don't make models of WW2 German aircraft. No one would ever consider you to be a nazi sympathiser, just an excellent craftsman striving for authenticity and accuracy.
Nice build as always. Think it's really bad that you feel the need to purchase aftermarket decals or masks. Why should you have to spend even more hard earned to complete a kit. It appears well known that the new decals are difficult to work with, While I believe that you are really meant the carrier is meant to be left in place, surely you listen to your customers and should revert to the old style of decal. On another note concerning Eduard. I recently got hold of their Zlin Akrobat and found that both undercarriage doors/fairings were missing. I looked carefully at the sprue where they should be (and checked the bag) and it appears that they weren't even formed as there is no sign of them either being broken off or short shot. I could understand one being short shot but not both. Anyway after contacting them they are sending me the missing parts but it might take up to 10 days to get them send and then there is postage time. Oh! The locating pins are very fine in the Akrobat, so they really got sanded off.
Très belle maquette jolie travail de qualité dans le cockpit superbe peinture générale dommage de gâcher tout cela avec un manque de réalisme de la décoration les avions de la lutwaffe ont toujours des croix sur leurs dérives
Good build mate. As for the swastika, I don't get it. The aim is to make a model as accurate as possible but don't add a swastika? I don't get this trend.
It’s not a trend, it relates to Facebook and UA-cam policies, I have no opinion either way on the symbol but if leaving it off allows the channel to stay monitized and allows me to share stuff to Facebook, then off they stay!
@@ChampionScaleModelling sorry, I didn't realise it was a case of youtube etc not allowing them. I thought it was more about taste. I wasn't aiming my comment at you but in general. Thanks for educating me.
No worries, it’s more Facebook to be honest but UA-cam are a bit careful around this sort of thing, I can only see it getting worse tbh so took the decision just to leave them off. Thanks for watching 👍
It’s very worrying for free speech, ideas, not to mention history, that a board of a social media company can effectively police what the whole world sees.
spoilt by no swastika.....this kit is displaying its prowess by showing us the huge attention to detail...and build quality...WHO the hell are we trying to bow down to by having no swastika? How many countries (in the world) deem it illegal ffs

Great looking model. I enjoy your Commentary. And I am certainly learning. Thanks for sharing!
I should also mention…absolute stunning job. Some of the best mottling I’ve seen
Never seen that before with the tape and pannal line learn something new everyday!

I have this individual in a 1/48
Hasegawa, It has a cool paint sheme 😎
Amazing work!😎
Excellent build and wonderful video
Very goodly! Another nice 109. Keep 'em coming. 👍
Ottimo lavoro sei un maestro ottima tecnica molto pulita
Excellent build! And your closing music reminds me Blue Oyster Cults song "Then Came the Last Days of May"
Turned out real nice. Would be nice if Eduard would release a video of their own demonstrating how they intend for their new decals to be applied, rather than everyone having to try to figure it out on their own.
They don’t directly endorse it but there are a few dudes showing how you can remove the film on youtube.
Removing the film is not the issue fir me, I have done it successfully and unsuccessfully and that’s down to my own errors, what is beyond dispute is the print quality and colour, it’s just hopeless

ICM and especially the zvezda BF109 kits are really nice. For some reason they don't get the love as much as the big brands.
Nice work!
amazing build
Have you tried putting a layer of gloss over the decals, before the matt coat?
To try and hide the clear carrier film edges?
This sometimes works.
Cracking build as usual…I do like watching your videos, keep up the amazing work 👍👍👍
What paint did you use for the cockpit? Beautiful job.
Nice job. I'm doing Eduard's FW190A-5 right now. It says copyright 2021, so; I'm assuming I have decals with the heavier carrier film. I have dealt with Tamiya's decals so I guess I'll be alright. Hope so. Anyway. Very nice Messerschmitt.
F4 the good bf109!
glad to see your new nippers I have those if it's what i think they are ...and how brill are they ??
that's at last lol
DEEE KAL!!! Not Deckle! 😋😋😋 Just ribbing ya... Beautiful work! My son and I love your videos and tips. 😎👍
Also, you can make your own decal sol…20% Enamel thinners to 80% distilled (deionised) water!!! Works a treat, there’s a video on my channel under tutorial playlists 👍👍👍
Great build. Do you do any pre work on the canopy? I’m fairly new to the hobby and having issues removing masks and it peeling paint too.
Were did you vind that rivet maker ? Cool build btw

Ace’s GB by any chance? 😉
@@ChampionScaleModelling Yes 😁 You doing one?
Did this model builder use to do florry modeling ?
What is going on with the decals I haven't heard about it ?
Where did you get that riveting wheel from?
HM hobbies in UK long time ago though

There are lots of photos showing German aircraft beat up. Especially the forward deployed ones in the east

Pilot is Hans "Assi" Hahn.

This is F-2, ot F-4 (F-4 has different lower wing with bigger and more squared wheel wells)
Nice build as always.

It seems silly to put all the detail work in and worry about offending people with a decal…as if leaving it off changes history.
It’s not cause he didn’t want to offend anyone, but rather UA-cam wouldn’t show his video as much or it might even have gotten taken down.
