@Military Museum - it helps the standard road tyres (all they're allowed) dig in and grip. If you listen carefully you can hear the revs drop slightly as their bums hit the seats and the tyres get more grip. HTH.
Thanks for that footage. Do you happen to know if the MG J2 (reg. FW3909) owned by I believe a Mr Bennett is still being shown outings? I don't see it in this film. I ask because the car was originally owned by my grandfather and I keep a look out for it...
I shared this video with my girlfriend because I was impressed by the performance of those old-timers. She asks: "When were these old cars build approximately?" (?)
@@peterjbrown1458 The VSCC was formed in 1934 to ensure continued enjoyment and preservation of pre-1931 cars. It essentially remains so although there have been exceptions to the date cut-off for certain vehicles conforming to standards established at the Club's inception. The cars shown here date from before 1931, in many cases from the late 1920s. Some are extremely valuable which makes their vigorous enjoyment all the more pleasing! Nice bit of filming, too....
I really liked this video. Some of the cars are unknown to me. Could you tell me what the cars are at 1:22 and at 2:00 ? They are really cute and small. They appear to be about the same size as a Smart fortwo,
Hi, I'm afraid I was just a spectator without any knowledge of each car. The real experts are the Vintage Sports Car Club maybe they can help - www.vscc.co.uk/
@Joseph O'Callaghan - try *making* us cease it, miseryguts. When you were made class pencil monitor at the age of 7, I bet you thought you were on the road to absolute power, didn't you?
Nice to see people who really use their old cars.
Bloody marvelous and very sporting Family Affair ,wholesome
Loved this! Found myself bouncing up and down on my sofa whilst watching!🤣👍🇦🇺🇬🇧😎
Glad you liked it, great fun even as a spectator.
As English as tuppence and delightfully eccentric. Wonderful. I'm going to have to join the club.
A distinctly peculiar English pastime. At the end of each run, the mud on each car is weighed and the car with the most mud wins.
:))
The jumping up and down in the seat in interesting

Where can I donate a kidney to participate in one of these events.
Not a good idea, you’ll lose the other one when you do participate. Then you’ll be asking for the return of the one you gave away.
It’s not actually expensive. These trials have taken place since the early days of the motor car. The main prerequisite is having an eligible vehicle.
alive cars they dont stay only in a warm garage :-) very cool

I'm no expert but I think they tend to be vehicles manufactured in the 30's. Perhaps someone with more knowledge will add a comment.

They are austin 7 chummys
@@geoffmaltby7267 Thank you so much for the answer. I loved the looks of those little cars. You are awesome !
Is there a speed limit, or are they going at full tilt?
The objective is to get to the finish without stopping. So, speed is not an issue as long as the car moves forward.
💯👍
❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍🇮🇩
What type of car racing this
Hello, lots of information on the Vintage Sports Car Club web site which may help - www.vscc.co.uk/

Rest of the world: eat your hearts out. Fun - UK style.
why do they wreck their cars, b running them in muddy tram lines?
It’s called British motorsport history trials have gone on for many many years .,
This is a off road track. You destroy these beautiful cars which made for normal roads
It’s British history we’ve been doing these trials for many many years ..
