Great video Gio. Next time turn the camera around so we can see more of the neighborhoods without you being in the video. We know what you look like. And mix it up a little with some motor vlogs.
Nothing wrong with the change of how you do your videos, it’s cool the more you expand you’ll enjoy it and get better and show your love for the country and culture Gio
Hey Gio, one thing I haven't done yet is my mail. What online mail forwarding service company do you use? How long have you used them and are you happy with their service? Thank you
I love the walk and talk. I visited the Philippines (Luzon) for my first time last year. Seeing the sights brings even more value to your videos. Hope you do more. Thanks Gio!!!
Thanks for sharing, Gio. In Indonesia there is also little to no sidewalks in most places. Also drivers there use their horn to warn others as a friendly gesture. I think you are looking back at your previous life because you have entered a new stage in your life. It gives you some anxiety which is normal. To cope with it you ponder thoughts about the times prior marriage. That time is gone. It was good but you are doing better now with your new wife and daughter. Your system has to adjust more gradually to the new lifestyle. Maya is a wonderful woman and her daughter is lovely. Take good care of them and you be fine. Let go of the past and the perrson that was attached to that and welcome your new life. Everything is fine. And your microphone is working properly. It doesn't catch up too much noise from the environment. It is not unpleasant to hear some background noise as it is part of the real life in the PH, lively energy. Your voice stands out above the noise so no problem for me.
Looking back on my own time in SE Asia (~3 years now), I also feel that I wouldn't change too much. After racking my brain for a few minutes about it, I couldn't even think of 1 major thing I would change. I guess I should be grateful that things have gone pretty well overall! Truly one of the best decisions I ever made.
Start with travel medical insurance and then switch to the health insurance in the Philippines once you know you will stay here. visitorscoverage.tp.st/f6dHJDqB
Use to get my most reliable info on travel & life in the Philippines from Reekay Life in the Philippines for many years. His life experiences there served me very very well over the years from 2011 when I was a newbie to the Philippines. Fast forward to today You have become my #1 source for current real life experience of Philippine travel & living. Still a bit shy to live long term so far away from my $$$ though! 4 months has been my longest stay so far and owe many thanks to all you guys for making my stays there as wonderful and trouble free as possible. 11 years happily married to a Filipina here in America. A BIG thumbs up!!!
The walk and talk provides different scenery around Duma, and that’s kind of fun. But I know first hand that it is an obstacle course as a pedestrian. Hard to concentrate on a message when you have to pay constant attention on the surroundings. My thoughts is do both styles. Walk and talk when you want to explore different views, and the sit downs for loftier discussions. Either way, I enjoy your channel.
Right on, Gio . We really enjoy when the bloggers do more than just be the armchair quarterback. Thank you for all your information as it is what we need to acclimate to the philippines and all of its pitfalls.
You make a good point about buying a motorbike sooner, to learn your way around. When we were in Vigan City last year, the GPS on my phone was mostly worthless. I had to back the pickup truck we were driving down way too many streets. A motorbike would have been so much easier…
Hi there Gio👋 Walk and talk, getting fit at the same time 👍 Up to you what ever you fee like doing, take care on the road or anywhere. Thnx for the vlogg😊
I like the new format. Something more I'd like to see is a map of where you are walking. There's a vlogger I follow "Unseen Thailand in Chiang Mai" that displays a little map with a walking animation on it. I don't know how easy that would be to create but I like it!
Gio,now you will get in better shape while you volg 😊also the street beat is way cooler and now we learned about the North side yes do this again Gio thanks.
I like the new format. Sound is good. Please share your experience about the different neighborhoods in the area. If you happen to see a house for rent, please mention it. I am here now and looking.
It's nice to see things that we don't normally get to see. I know for you it's probably hard to focus on conversation and not get hit by a car and talk. Please be careful.
I like both formats. Doing any one thing all the time can be monotonous. Do both and mix is up depending on your mood. You could do a number of different formats. I have seen walk and talk, talk while doing some daily activities, sitting in a park and talking, etc. mix it up. The challenge is noise when out and about but that is why you may not want to do a single format all the time
Glad to see you out and about, good exercise. It shows a good picture of the everyday life of the people there than just sitting in a coffee shop or your apt complex. You're right about that, sidewalks are a luxury in the Philippines 😂
I don't mind walk and talks, but this one was very distracting and you got into the topic around 3:30 into the video. Sorry don't mean to go against the collective flow, but I am not here to pat you on the back, but I do enjoy your channel and want to provide constructive feedback. I also understand that any new format has a learning curve. Keep up the video's, you are one of the early guys I watched and will continue to watch.
I've never seen a video from the Sibulan market and the seaport there. Like the walking format, but it's the dry season and you can't do it later in the year, so that should keep everyone satisfied. Good video 👍
Long time viewer and Duma visitor; This is nice to get a feel for the area you’re in. Would help orient the viewer to show a map view of where you are walking - like we do when using google maps. Otherwise each walk is just a mystery of streets and building locations to those unfamiliar. Thanks for the effort. Also how hot in temp numbers is it now? I hear its been super dry and hot. 80s? 90s? 100F? ( 30-40C? ) Rainy season is approaching right? John
Gio, thanks for the walk about. Looks like the north side where you walked looks agreeable to me. I won't look for a rental on that main street, but any of the side streets would be fine with me when I arrive. As for future videos, more walking videos help me get a view of the town, but do whatever makes you happy.
Maybe turn the camera around facing forward and commenting as you go along on what we are seeing, of speaking on your chosen topic for the day. Am interested in the North Point and Sibulan areas.
What about video why not club, bogarts, rolling pin, Chinese shrine, dumagute Valencia dauin cock pit, the boat building area of the boulevard. Like the new format keep walking😊
Bio I enjoy your channel. I see that you are concerned about the traffic. Why not walk in the direction of the oncoming traffic in order to eliminate looking over your shoulder while you talk.
Geo, I’ve been watching you for years no offense, but turn the camera around so we can see what you are walking towards instead of looking at your face for the whole walk….
Lol….If only we could do things over. If so I never would have married my ex-wife 😁. Marrying her wasn’t a total loss though. I learned how to swear up a storm in Cantonese 😂. Your mistakes are also some of your life experiences. While it’s better to learn from someone else’s mistakes, eventually you’ll have to learn from your own as well. My previous mistakes made me a lot more cautious, especially when it came to dating. I stopped ignoring “red flags”. Most of the people who knew my ex and know my now girlfriend of 15+ plus years say that my girlfriend is the exact opposite of my ex. From a moving to the Philippines perspective, yes make a good plan BEFORE you go. Do a lot of research. Do your due diligence when you’re looking for your future life partner.
No problem with the "studio" style format to convey information like this. But enjoy the walkabout, I'd do both, nothing cerebral when walking, more showing, interacting and walking more comfortably, safely!
I always walk in the opposite direction of traffic - so that I can see it coming. All it takes is one distracted driver and that could be the end of your essential travel tips. Nobody wants that :/
I liked your walk around as it gives the viewer what parts of where you are living looks like The streets the homes the location but it can be a bit distracting for you as you are trying to get a story across and you are distracted as you need to watch whats going on around you.And i know what you mean about Filipino drivers
Food for thought as a viewer, most of us would rather see the streets view than your face only, then when making a point turn camera on yourself jmo I'm 58 so seeing view is more appealing
Walk & talks are great but are best when the camera shows your POV or the view ahead of you. We can still listen to your voiceover narration while seeing the scenery.
Combining a tour of the local landscape with personal reflections appears to be very challenging. In terms of conveying useful information, this maiden effort is not very efficient. Nevertheless, I'm curious future efforts will be better. Good luck.
Just a suggestion. I’d probably feel more comfortable doing a sit and talk if I had a lot of detail to get into in a topic simply because of noise and distractions. Also it causes getting off topic a big issue which really isn’t an issue if you’re talking to somebody with u in person but not really a good screen thing. I do recommend doing walk and talks but that’s best when your not talking about a subject that doesn’t apply to the walk your on. Anyway I got a big mouth so don’t pay me no mind but if u welcome advice from a idiot well that’s my 2 pesos worth

I like the new walk and talk format and seeing different areas! Thanks Gio.
Yes for sure...
Great video Gio. Next time turn the camera around so we can see more of the neighborhoods without you being in the video. We know what you look like. And mix it up a little with some motor vlogs.
Ok will do
Agreed
Keep doing the walk and talks. 💪
Enjoyed the ‘walk and talk’ Only bad thing is it's hard to think, talk, while avoiding dogs foaming in the mouth, wild chickens and dodge traffic.
Totally agree, I kept losing my thoughts lol
Ya, you have to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time.😂
The dogs don't bother you if you don't bother them.
I hope those dogs dont have rabies?
Nothing wrong with the change of how you do your videos, it’s cool the more you expand you’ll enjoy it and get better and show your love for the country and culture Gio
Thank you!
Enjoyed the walk and talk. Good points to remember before traveling to the Philippines. Thanks, Gio...Jim
Really interesting I like to watch the background.
You show the real country
Like the new format !
That was cool watching you walk!Nice mixing it up!I always enjoy your content!
Thanks 👍
Enjoyed the new format! Philly in the Philippines does this to
I like this format. I like when you turn the camera to see the businesses & homes, etc. Most people do not do that on their walks.
Thank you :-)
Love the new format. Yes show the road. Thanks
I enjoyed the new walking format. However, safety first! Please don’t take any unnecessary risks considering the traffic chaos.
What 🎤 are you using. The sound is pretty good 👍
DJI Mic
Hey Gio love the walk n talk! Also enjoy seeing n learning more about North Point ( I never knew this was there!!!). Many thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it
I enjoyed seeing the area with the walk and talk. Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey Gio, one thing I haven't done yet is my mail. What online mail forwarding service company do you use? How long have you used them and are you happy with their service?
Thank you
I've been using Traveling Mailbox for over 2 years and love them. travelingmailbox.com/?ref=1384
Good luck with the new format. Good move Gio. If I can be of any help let me know. I am settled in now and really enjoying the Philippines.
I love the walk and talk. I visited the Philippines (Luzon) for my first time last year. Seeing the sights brings even more value to your videos. Hope you do more. Thanks Gio!!!
Yes, keep up the walk and talk. Also a great idea you have is to do your daily routines as you talk and walk.
I have to disagree
too many distractions and outside noise
Thanks for sharing, Gio.
In Indonesia there is also little to no sidewalks in most places. Also drivers there use their horn to warn others as a friendly gesture.

Us stationary folks love the walk and talks. Show us what we're missing.
Gio, are you using Go Pro, no gimbal?
DJI pocket 2

Enjoyed the walk and talk. Planning to move to Davao from U.K next month. What do you recommend or use as a expat for Health Insurance in Philippines?
Start with travel medical insurance and then switch to the health insurance in the Philippines once you know you will stay here. visitorscoverage.tp.st/f6dHJDqB
Walk and talk more interesting than just talk.😍

A motorbike gave me much more opportunities to get off the beaten path.
Hi there Gio👋
Walk and talk, getting fit at the same time 👍

Great new format.
Which did you like better Cebu Business district or Mactown Newton?
Mactan Newtown
Glad to see you out and about, good exercise. It shows a good picture of the everyday life of the people there than just sitting in a coffee shop or your apt complex.
You're right about that, sidewalks are a luxury in the Philippines 😂

Noted, I was a bit distracted by traffic. The next video I will be on a less busy street and I'll jump into the topic immediately..
I like the new format, video trip sight seeing and a good topic....
Thank you Gio
Ps. Is Sibulan near this area
I like this new format ❤
Yes, it is!
Great vid, Gio! Please take care and don't get run over. Lol.
I've never seen a video from the Sibulan market and the seaport there. Like the walking format, but it's the dry season and you can't do it later in the year, so that should keep everyone satisfied. Good video 👍
I totally agree! I'll do the Sibulan market.
I like both. You don’t need to limit yourself to one or the other.
Long time viewer and Duma visitor; This is nice to get a feel for the area you’re in. Would help orient the viewer to show a map view of where you are walking - like we do when using google maps. Otherwise each walk is just a mystery of streets and building locations to those unfamiliar.

Like the walk and talk but perhaps you could find a road with fewer vehicles?
Yea, I will for sure.
More walk and talks please!!
Thanks Gio. Its definitely different to sitting by the pool. Yes, do a few more of these. But as others have said, Please be careful from the traffic.
Thank you
Definitely do only walk & talk video's and show us around. As well as the finest condo's or houses to rent.
Maybe turn the camera around facing forward and commenting as you go along on what we are seeing, of speaking on your chosen topic for the day. Am interested in the North Point and Sibulan areas.
Noted.
Yo Gio... if your job was in Cebu... why did you live in Davao initially ? thank you Fr USA
I like the walk and talk…please do more….
Yes to walk and talk 👏🏼
How much does it cost you to do those 2 week trips to Vietnam, Malaysia, etc.which you said you like to do every 6 months.
Great way to do videos. Plus I still can't get over their powerlines.. lol like spaghetti 🍝
Davao has their power lines buried which is nice.
I like the walks and talks.
I prefer the usual format without the street noise.
I like the walk & talk! 😅
Geo, I’ve been watching you for years no offense, but turn the camera around so we can see what you are walking towards instead of looking at your face for the whole walk….
Noted!
Cool video
I listen to your videos, seldom watch. Nevertheless, I appreciate your efforts to show interesting backgrounds.
Yes show more areas that others don’t please
No problem with the "studio" style format to convey information like this. But enjoy the walkabout, I'd do both, nothing cerebral when walking, more showing, interacting and walking more comfortably, safely!
Nice video, nice change of pace. Thank you Gio. Very wholesome
Walk and talks are good 😊
You need one of those bright yellow safety vests . Not only would it keep you cooler but it may keep you from getting mowed down .
I always walk in the opposite direction of traffic - so that I can see it coming. All it takes is one distracted driver and that could be the end of your essential travel tips. Nobody wants that :/
Good point, I will do that next time.
How much money do you walk around with?
few thousand pesos, no more usually!
I liked your walk around as it gives the viewer what parts of where you are living looks like The streets the homes the location but it can be a bit distracting for you as you are trying to get a story across and you are distracted as you need to watch whats going on around you.And i know what you mean about Filipino drivers
I will try to pick a different area that is quieter so I don't get so distracted.
Food for thought as a viewer, most of us would rather see the streets view than your face only, then when making a point turn camera on yourself jmo I'm 58 so seeing view is more appealing
Noted!
Yes, be careful Gio in crossing the street.😊
Walks are good but maybe not these busy roads as too noisy. At the beach or natural environments would be good
Walk & talks are great but are best when the camera shows your POV or the view ahead of you. We can still listen to your voiceover narration while seeing the scenery.
Noted!
Also City Mall not far from your walk was our favorite!
That was a great walk and talk saw different side of Duma that nobody shows.
What about video on a bite clinic?
I would like to see the best beaches near Duma.
Seems less congested then the other end of Town.
How's the weather? Still pretty sweaty?
May is the tail end of the dry season, all I know.
Yea, it's still pretty hot but hopefully tapering down soon.
Nice walk and talk.
I’ve stayed at the Henry. Highly recommend it, for a comfortable room and good food!! Now that was 2 years ago!
I like the format, it's kinda like the arcade game Frogger with Gio (Gi-ogger)
Mix it up a bit ! But walk and talk is good !
Yes walk and talk.
Are there jobs that foreigners can work?
Rare to find but there are a few.
Combining a tour of the local landscape with personal reflections appears to be very challenging.
In terms of conveying useful information, this maiden effort is not very efficient. Nevertheless, I'm curious future efforts will be better.
Good luck.
Yes a walk and talk.is good
I know you haven't been out in a while but honestly I can tell your a little rusty in your camera work. All the Best.
Why did you choose Duma? Because of the expat community?
Well, my wife is from here and it is very central to everything.
Like the view of the ocean
I would have changed nothing because the best experience is mistakes that you can learn from.
Absolutely
Also first
