We were told to respect elders when we were growing up, we were brainwashed by adult normies. When we become adults is a lie, a lot of adults have never been mature. Infamous example: Politicians, War on Ukraine, people fighting and dying over a piece of land. Respect goes in both ways. It turns out Elders are inmature, just because they are older it does not mean they are above everyone else. I grew up in Deep South Chinese background (Cantonese/Taishanese to be exact), in Confucian cult it is belief that aging means move up the heirarchy. Young people are at bottom of heirarchy, young people have little or no say there while elders at top of heirarchy in East Asian Confucian region.
