Hello there! I am so excited to share this episode called 'Teaching the Teenage Broadway Belt Voice" with you, featuring my longtime student Abigail Montecino. Abigail has been studying voice with me since she was 6 years old. She is now 17 years old and will be heading off to college next year.
In this episode you will see Abigail coaching with me (via Zoom) as she was preparing for her upcoming recording session with Todd Urban at Urban Sound Studio, for the song "Being Good Isn't Good Enough".
In the lesson you will hear Abigail working through several vocal exercises to get her voice ready to sing this big song.
You will also hear us discussing song choices for her college submission videos.

Wooow
Her voice is 🌋
What have found is that some of your exercises stretches my upper range by making my throat create more space without squeezing
Great lesson! Very enjoyable and informative. 🎵🧡🎵
Thank you!!!!!
Really good. I did the exercises with her but an octave down .Where you told her to push up with her arm I found it easier to bend at the knee just a downward motion, which helped me.
Thank you
This is so good! Your captions describing what is happening in the lesson are really interesting, and helpful. I love understanding the process better. Also, she is amazing lol!!
Thank you! I like for viewers to know what the exercises and concepts are doing!
Also, your reaction at 16:12 is everything
Спасибо большое за видеоурок! Взяла в работу упражнения, отличный результат у учеников!
I wish I understood what this is. Could you translate in english?
@@JeffAlaniStanfill thanks for the video, I use these exercises to work with my students, - excellent result!
Is it okay if the U vowel changes from a falsetto kind of sound to a more chestlike sound during 2 octave voce cuperto..sorry for the many comments..thanks sir
Comments and questions are welcome! Do you mean is it ok to land in chest on the second octave down? If so, the concept of the exercise is designed to blend the head voice or falsetto down with no obvious break. Once the singer has achieved this, then the falsetto begins to turn over to head voice. But if there is an obvious crash into chest voice, then the falsetto will not turn into head voice.
@@JeffAlaniStanfill okay!..what I experienced is not going into falsetto on the way up but rather a kind of mixed voice sounding strong but definitely not a breathy falsetto sound and it was the same coming back down the octave...I wasn't feeling strained
@@ghenevoejovi8964 then you are on the right track. Most tenors (like me) do not experience falsetto on this exercise. Baritones and Basses will experience falsetto.
@@JeffAlaniStanfill thank you sir..I'm a lower baritone though☺
