    • @SabrinaMelodieuse
      @SabrinaMelodieuse  3 роки тому +1

      Awww I am glad you got the instructions. So the instructions are for any size that you want, because the item is worked sideways, you are working the length of the neck, so keep repeating rows 1 to 12 until the piece measures around the neck and then follow the instructions to get to the buttonhole. The tutorial capelet was made to my measurements, I am small, but just keep checking on yourself to see if you are happy with the size, I do hope this helps.

    Hi Sabrina, you have such a awesome creator. Grey looks good on you. I have tried to knit before but I was unable to. Your laughter makes a day go brighter. I really love the stitch definition you achieve with knitting. I will watch your knitting videos but I don't dare begin to try it. I have osteoporosis in both of my hands and both wrists crocheting is a challenge at times I could just imagine the inflammation that will happen with knitting. My aunt tried to teach me when I waa a young child but at that time I didn't have any desire to learn and then she passed and there is no one else in my family that has any desire to do any sewing, knitting, crochet, let's just say nothing that has to do with a needle and thread. I may just have to find someone local that can make me a pretty cardigan, shawl, or some other kind of project. Thanks for posting this fabulous Caplet.

I'm sorry to hear about your health problems and that they affect your day to day life so much. I'm told that bamboo needles and hooks are very light and lovely to use, people with arthritis swear by them, have you got some maybe ? Where are you located ? Don't tell me where exactly, just a country and town will do. I'm sure there will be local people to help you. Are there any knitting and crochet groups local to you ? These are excellent to meet people with the same interest and eager to help you learn. Thank you so much for watching my video, happy knitting and crochet ☺

      @SabrinaMelodieuse  5 років тому

      pauline mcduffus Hello Pauline ! I used circular needles because it was easier to handle in front of the camera and also if I used needles, there would have been too much noise. But of course, you can use regular size needles. Yes, you can make it longer if you wish, you would simply need to add more stitches in the middle section, where it's worked in stockinette stitch, if you add for example 15 stitches in the section, then at the cast on, instead of casting on 68 stitches, you would have to cast on 83 stitches. You are very kind and made me blush ! I am french but live in England. Thank you for watching the video, happy knitting and crochet ☺

      Oh I am sorry you are having some confusing times, I am definitely writing a pattern and will upload it somewhere, and then I will add the link to it in the description box, I hope the written instructions will make it easier for you. Absolutely ! You can definitely add more length to it, if you look at the pattern / tutorial, when you are working your DCs, just add more DCs, but right from the start when working your chains, make sure to add the number of DC into the chain, I hope this makes sense, if not, let me know and I will try and reword it better.

    Did you do a gauge? To make a larger size should we use smaller needles.

    • @SabrinaMelodieuse
      @SabrinaMelodieuse  3 роки тому

      Hello Roberta, sorry about the very late reply ! No, I didn't really gauge, the size is pretty much universal, you work the piece sideways so as soon as your capelet is long enough to go around your neck, you stop the repeat patterns and get to the buttonhole part, I hope this helps. :)

    Thank you so much for this pattern! I have a question about row 12 though. Do we keep casting off 5 stitches when we repeat rows 1-12 or is that only one time? I think I got confused haha

    • @SabrinaMelodieuse
      @SabrinaMelodieuse  4 роки тому +3

      Hello Jaylen ! I am glad you like this tutorial. I didn't want to make you wait too long, I hope this reaches you in time. So, about row 12, yes, every time you do a row 12, you will have to cast off the 5 stitches, this is because it forms an edging for this capelet. I hope this is clearing the confustion ? Don't hesitate to contact me again, if you get confused elsewhere, it is important to be able to understand the instructions and to enjoy making this item. Happy knitting and crochet :)

    Hey there! I'm having an issue with the stitch count. How many should I have at the end of each row? I keep coming up short.

    • @SabrinaMelodieuse
      @SabrinaMelodieuse  3 роки тому +2

      I am so sorry it took me so long to get back to you. There are increases rows and 1 decrease row so I will now put the number of stitches that should be at the increase and decrease rows. Row 1 : 69 sts, Row 3 : 70 sts, Row 5 : 71 sts, Row 7 : 72 sts, Row 9 : 73 sts, Row 12 : 68 sts. I hope this was helpful.

      You repeat row 1-12 until the neck part fits around yours

    • @claudiacano4916
      @claudiacano4916 4 роки тому +1

      If you go to the minute 29 of the video, Sabrina explains that you need to continue working the 12 row repeat until the neck section is wide enough to wrap around your neck. That means that after row 12 you start again with row 1 and continue working up to row 12, and continue repeating those 12 rows, until you get the measurement you need on the neck, like she explains., then after you get that measurement, you work the last section the way she explains to make the button holes, and bind off. Would be helpful if you write notes about how to work the 12 row repeat on your own words, and you stop the video before each row, and write the minute where that row starts, so you can find it easily if you need to remember how to work that row.
