Hello Laura, thank you so much. I'm glad you like this tutorial, I would love to see your capelet when it's done. I have other tutorials on my channel, if you go to my playlists, you'll find them there, they are mainly crochet tutorials. But I'll have a knitting series very soon, I hope you will enjoy that one. I also have some patterns available on my ravelry store, although I will publish quite a few very soon, including baby blankets, a lady's sweater, hats and cowls, a bag, and many more, in knitting and crochet, the written patterns will be mostly knitting though. Feel free to look at my ravelry and if you email me, I'll be happy to gift you one of my written patterns that are on my ravelry. Just let me know. Ohhh and if you have a request for a specific tutorial, let me know too, I'll be happy to also do that.

If you know the basic stitches like knit and purl, as well as yarn over and k2tog, then you can do it ! if not, I am so sorry, and I can't promise anything but I am eager to see if this can be done in crochet so I will try ! Thank you for watching the video, happy knitting and crochet ☺
I am definitely going to make this capelet, It is so beautiful! I do prefer knitting to crochet. Can I make it with cotton yarn? I have a beige hank that's 200 grams. Thanks, Sabrina for the tutorial.💛🐏🧶🐐🧡
salam irini Awad Awww I'm glad you like the capelet and tutorial. Yes, I would think this would look very nice if you use cotton yarn, I guess you could use any yarn of your choice with 4.5 mm needles. Happy knitting ☺
The written instructions have been requested so many times that I have now published the written instructions in my Ravelry store, the link is in the description box but here it is, I hope you enjoy making this :) www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/how-to-knit-a-capelet
Hi Sabrina. Thank you for posting your pattern. I do have another question. The pattern doesn't specify sizes. The cast on 68 stitches is for which size please? Thank you for your help. I look forward to knitting this and looking out for your videos. Thanks again. :]
Nancy MacDonald Awww thank you ! A few people said the same ! I wonder if there is a way to crochet this.... I'll have to investigate, I can't promise anything but I'll try ☺
Oh I love this I can knit but not on circular pins and do you think I could make it longer into a full cape ? Please don’t be embarrassed when you mix up words your English is fantastic. I love your channel can I ask you what country you come from Sabrina I love your accent
pauline mcduffus Hello Pauline ! I used circular needles because it was easier to handle in front of the camera and also if I used needles, there would have been too much noise. But of course, you can use regular size needles. Yes, you can make it longer if you wish, you would simply need to add more stitches in the middle section, where it's worked in stockinette stitch, if you add for example 15 stitches in the section, then at the cast on, instead of casting on 68 stitches, you would have to cast on 83 stitches. You are very kind and made me blush ! I am french but live in England. Thank you for watching the video, happy knitting and crochet ☺
I love your capelet and plan on making it, even though I am a beginner knitter. Your instructions are very clear, but I get lost at the collar. It is confusing to me at what point you knit there and at what point you leave it unknitted.
Oh I am sorry you are having some confusing times, I am definitely writing a pattern and will upload it somewhere, and then I will add the link to it in the description box, I hope the written instructions will make it easier for you. But in the instructions, where it says knit a certain amount of stitches then turn your work, when you leave stitches on the needle unworked, that is when you are shaping the neck.
Absolutely ! You can definitely add more length to it, if you look at the pattern / tutorial, when you are working your DCs, just add more DCs, but right from the start when working your chains, make sure to add the number of DC into the chain, I hope this makes sense, if not, let me know and I will try and reword it better.
Hello Roberta, sorry about the very late reply ! No, I didn't really gauge, the size is pretty much universal, you work the piece sideways so as soon as your capelet is long enough to go around your neck, you stop the repeat patterns and get to the buttonhole part, I hope this helps. :)
Thank you so much for this pattern! I have a question about row 12 though. Do we keep casting off 5 stitches when we repeat rows 1-12 or is that only one time? I think I got confused haha
Hello Jaylen ! I am glad you like this tutorial. I didn't want to make you wait too long, I hope this reaches you in time. So, about row 12, yes, every time you do a row 12, you will have to cast off the 5 stitches, this is because it forms an edging for this capelet. I hope this is clearing the confustion ? Don't hesitate to contact me again, if you get confused elsewhere, it is important to be able to understand the instructions and to enjoy making this item. Happy knitting and crochet :)
@@jaylenclark1715 Awww you are very welcome, I hope you enjoy making this. Ohhh and please feel free to send me a picture when it is done, I would LOVE to see it ! (But of course you don't have to). Happy knitting :)
I am so sorry it took me so long to get back to you. There are increases rows and 1 decrease row so I will now put the number of stitches that should be at the increase and decrease rows. Row 1 : 69 sts, Row 3 : 70 sts, Row 5 : 71 sts, Row 7 : 72 sts, Row 9 : 73 sts, Row 12 : 68 sts. I hope this was helpful.
Hello karen ! Yes, I believe this could work in continental style as well as eastern european, so long as you follow the instructions, should be easy and quick to do ! Oh please send a picture when yours is done, I would love to see it ! I hope you will enjoy :)
What we have to do after row 12 no one is answering my question🙋 I am totally disappointed😞 Miss Sabrina what I have to do after row 12 iam waiting for your reply
If you go to the minute 29 of the video, Sabrina explains that you need to continue working the 12 row repeat until the neck section is wide enough to wrap around your neck. That means that after row 12 you start again with row 1 and continue working up to row 12, and continue repeating those 12 rows, until you get the measurement you need on the neck, like she explains., then after you get that measurement, you work the last section the way she explains to make the button holes, and bind off. Would be helpful if you write notes about how to work the 12 row repeat on your own words, and you stop the video before each row, and write the minute where that row starts, so you can find it easily if you need to remember how to work that row.
Awwww Annie, I am so sorry you are disappointed, and I just saw your comment too ! Deras explained some of what you have to do and Claudia Cano did an amazing explanation too, I couldn't have done this better, I hope they have both helped ? Don't hesitate to contact me if you need further help.

Hello ! I am so sorry, I have been away for a while as I have been unwell. I am meant to write the pattern for this, would it help if I release the pattern ? I mean, I do explain each row in the tutorial too, but happy to type the pattern :)
Quick update, I now have a written pattern, free to download, for now, here is the link, I hope it helps www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/how-to-knit-a-capelet
Sabrina, I am making the capelet right now. Comes out beautifully thanks to your wonderful instructions. Thanks again. Do you have more tutorials on other things maybe?
Stay well !
Absolutely adorable! Maybe I’d give this a try and try to figure out how I could make it longer if I wanted to :D
Thank you Johann ! Glad you like this tutorial. Yes, you can absolutely make this longer if you wish, I would love to see yours ! Happy knitting :)
I assume you'd have to add the length in the middle, then? After the part for the neck and before the lace section?
@@johannaudio3334 Yes, exactly, I'd be interested to see how yours will be, I am sure it will be very beautiful.
You’re so cute and so natural 😍
I love the way to talk ♥️
Awww thank you so much ! Blushing. Glad you like this tutorial.
Wow
I love this tutorial
I wish I could do this
Hearts J Awww thank you ! If you know the basic stitches like knit and purl, as well as yarn over and k2tog, then you can do it ! if not, I am so sorry, and I can't promise anything but I am eager to see if this can be done in crochet so I will try ! Thank you for watching the video, happy knitting and crochet ☺
@@SabrinaMelodieuse thank you so much dear❤❤❤❤
You can do it!
Thank you so ,much, I.love the pattern. Where do I find written instructions and if available, pattern grid. Thanks! .
The written instructions have been requested so many times that I have now published the written instructions in my Ravelry store, the link is in the description box but here it is, I hope you enjoy making this :)

Hi Sabrina. Thank you for posting your pattern. I do have another question. The pattern doesn't specify sizes. The cast on 68 stitches is for which size please? Thank you for your help. I look forward to knitting this and looking out for your videos. Thanks again. :]
Hi Sabrina 😘 I wish I knew how to knit all I can do is crochet 😢😢 thank you so much tho 💕💕
Very beautiful. Will have to make it. Thanks.
Thank you Carleta ! Glad you like this capelet :)
Beautiful
Awwww thank you ! Glad you like it. Happy knitting and crochet 🙂
What if I want it a little bit longer? Where do I add the additional length?
Absolutely ! You can definitely add more length to it, if you look at the pattern / tutorial, when you are working your DCs, just add more DCs, but right from the start when working your chains, make sure to add the number of DC into the chain, I hope this makes sense, if not, let me know and I will try and reword it better.
Did you do a gauge? To make a larger size should we use smaller needles.
@@SabrinaMelodieuse Thank you so much! I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right haha. I'm so excited to finish this project!
@@jaylenclark1715 Awww you are very welcome, I hope you enjoy making this. Ohhh and please feel free to send me a picture when it is done, I would LOVE to see it ! (But of course you don't have to). Happy knitting :)
Hey there! I'm having an issue with the stitch count. How many should I have at the end of each row? I keep coming up short.
Is it me or she's just really sweet
Awww thank you :)
Thanks
Thank you Julie :)
Hi, will you pl guide me as to how many stitches I can cast on for a 5 yr old baby girl? TIA
Hello ! Yes, I will be back on here tomorrow, and I will let you know about the sizing, hope that is okay :)
@@SabrinaMelodieuse hi can you guide me how many stiches I can cast on for a 4-5 year old baby girl? Thank you!
Hi Sabrina would this capelet work in Continental knitting style or Eastern European style knitting? I just find it more comfortable.
You repeat row 1-12 until the neck part fits around yours
@@Deras1005 Thank you so much Deras, that is perfect :)
