I do this at least twice a week to make sure my windows stays stable, as well as backing up my files and system... May be overkill but I do a lot of video and photo editing, as well as some coding for certain things that would be really time consuming and costly to lose or be damaged. This is very important step in todays use of computing because of how easy it is for something nasty to be installed on your computer, or you messing with something in your registry of which you have no idea what it does. Good tips britec, looking forward to your next video!
Thanks Brian :-D Bloody hell, ive been using the really old version of Erunt for donkeys years, it auto starts, and ive found its registry backups so dam handy :-D. I admit Ive screwed up the registry quite a few times over the years, erunt is priceless, its happy in my ancient xp pro, i like a minimal o.s.
Good video...yeah, it's a good idea to backup the register while everything is running fine. I saw a video of your's on using the program called UVK (ultra virus killer) and I also noticed that it had a registry backup tool in there. Is it ok to use that to back up the reg.? I wasn't even aware of the windows one that does the same thing...keep up the video's man, I love them. They are very useful. xD
Can you copy the RegBack folder to external drive or to Documents folder and replace if a problem occurs? or does it have to be completed within the system properties or with third party software as demonstrated? If windows became unbootable you could probably copy the RegBack folder with a live Linux distro!.. nice informative video by the way!!
When I run CCleaner I use it to remove old/outdated registry files as well, every time it offers to save the old file. I have backed up registry files from months and months ago and I run CCleaner once a week.
On Britec form their is a list of rescue cd's for virus and malware // on bitdefender rescue cd it is asking for a password ??? do u know any way around it thanks
thanks for the video....you can't beat a full system backup I use veeam endpoint backup it's free and the recovery tool is really good. best windows inbuilt backup ! you should give it a try!

Ideally, you should back up your registry on an external hard drive, correct?

Just use a disk imaging program like i use acronis and do an image every sunday
never have enough backup and restore options.
awesome video brain, but seriously tho that intro(the pixely logo) makes you look so unprofessional
Yeah I know.
so why dont u make another one ?
Will do when I get time.
But surely you can restore a registry back up by import from its saved location
That's what I was wondering.. why can't you just use regedit and import/export the registry? Anybody know?
hi ;3
