    You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. This was one of the most concise, ridiculously detailed videos I have ever watched around a fresh Windows installation; but I am very grateful for the time and effort invested. For everyone else, just know that this method worked 100% for my Surface Pro 3; but be aware that the UEFI screen on my model is all black and you just have to disable SECURE BOOT and make USB the first boot device. It actually makes the ENTIRE SCREEN RED vs just a little red bar; but everything works as stated in this video, so I am very pleased to have Windows 11 on my old Surface Pro 3.

      This is very useful for those who have a pro 3 model. By the way, have you seen my video on how to upgrade the ssd in surface pro 3 where I drill the backend open instead of removing the top glass. ua-cam.com/video/ifEkDeIXsd0/v-deo.html

      He is a very detailed instructor. I am trying this install on my surface pro 4 and everything is brilliant till I reach the exit and restart part. It just takes me to my normal face ID unlock as if I just switched on my tab

      Also for IT Pros it is a very interesting and useful introduction how to explain something perfectly and in perfect detail. Thank you very much doing a perfect and good tutorial. Finally an instruction that is also useful for less experienced IT users.
      So many videos on the Internet are so inaccurate and incomplete that I am delighted to see an instructor who does his work seriously and in detail and also uses a clear incomprehensible language. Thank you very much Tefl-Dude, great Job you do ! Thanks.

      Good to hear that, I also have a surface pro 3 and about to upgrade to Windows 11. Just a question if in case I might face a performance issue or something, can I easily switch back to Windows 10 or will it be undoable.

    Actually if you simply go to the registry and add to Local_Machine\System\MoSetup
    Make New DWORD 32bit value AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU
    Set Value to 1
    Disconnect internet, mount iso, run setup;
    Then install it as normal, click accept, then click change what I keep: Nothing
    Installs the image clean with everything.
    No need to do all this.

    Dear Andrew, Thank you so much for delivering such a comprehensive video. I just updated my Surface Pro 3 and it perfectly worked fine. The only issue I had that I have to remove the USB stick after the installation from the bootable USB was done to avoid restarting installation process so it started from SSD. Thanks again

    Legend!!!! The other day I got annoyed with my SP7 and thought "I'll nuke you and put a clean W11 install on", then disaster struck, no access to boot... tried all the recommended MS methods, every tip from the forums, constantly stuck with no boot. Access denied when trying bootrec /fixboot. Nothing working, then I found this! I could kiss you!!!!!

    Hi, great tutorial !. I subscribed to your channel. Only one question: Your windows 10 on the surface was activated previously only with a digital license or was activated with a digital license linked to a MS account? I saw the activation was done immediately in your video when you click activate. Thanks in advance.

      All surface pros have pro licence automatically - even when you upgrade. install without licence key - and when you go online for the first time - it recognises your pc as legit and puts in licence

    This worked a treat to downgrade a Surface Go 3 from Win 11 home to Win 10 Enterprise. I had to do some additional rigamarole to format my 64GB USB drive to FAT32 but everything worked great from your tutorial. It was the first method I found that could create a viable Win10 USB boot drive for this Surface Go 3. Thanks a bunch!

    Why do you recommend FAT32 to write USB instead of straightforward tools such as mediacreation tool provided by microsoft or even Rufus?

    • @TeflDude
      @TeflDude  2 роки тому +1

      You can use Rufus to install windows as fat 32, I'm not sure what the media creation tool does? What I mean is I'm not sure whether it makes the file for the computer your trying to download it onto. Plus using the media creation tool takes like forever. Better to download the ISO separately

Since Pro4 was not eligible for Windows 11 (officially), I kept wondering how they did it (perhaps through insider program?), and kept thinking maybe some day I would be asked to revert to Windows 10. When you create a Windows recovery USB drive, it is automatically created as FAT32, because FAT32 is bootable, and NTFS is not.
      But the Windows image drive should be NTFS. Use NTFS because it removes some limitations that might cause problems, such as the 4GB file size limit that FAT32 has.

      With iso - and clean install, you can tell it you want Windows 11 PRO, then you can skip everything. Later it will realise you do not and you can put in / change number back to your home licence - .......................Windows 11, however, stops at the "let’s connect you to a network" screen with the "next" button greyed out. Pro edition users can click on "I don’t have internet" and proceed to complete the setup with a local user account; however, Home edition users don't have this option.

AND what's more explain in detail how to go back to the old system once windows 11 doesn't work correctly (lagging, do ton install all needed drivers ext.) because you are suggesting\showing to delete all preset backup drives which helps to recover in case.
