Nicely done video! And it IS as easy as you show it to be. I had to do a transplant recently on my 13 year old YS4500 20hp Intek Gold that's done everything but cut grass over it's lifetime. Weeds... lots of southern NM weeds on a dirt acre - clay & stones - & moving 200 yards of fill dirt, year round. In other words, lots of abuse. Tough machine. You mentioned weight - my 1900EX replacement is listed at 77 pounds. Lost that decompression lever as well but mine took everything w/ it at mow speed. Not one thing was spared except for, oddly enough, the governor. Thrown rod, cracked counter-balance, too much to mention. Like a mini-grenade went off in it. One thing I've always done w/ fuel lines was pinch them off like you but then plug w/ a bolt and remove the pincher until ready to re-install. On these an exhaust flange bolt fits nicely. Again, great video. Should be the #1 'how-to' for those needing it! Clear, concise, thorough.

NIce job; I just finished a 23 hp engine in my shop, same issue. Cam compression release is broken. Briggs has lots of them that break. Also I find many of the quick oil change plugs loose and leaking. Now I keep a new spare in inventory. Replace them or use red locktight on them after cleaning really good with break clean or carb spray. Thanks for excellent video.

Excellent vid, thank you. If you don't have an impact wrench, do you have any tips on how to keep the main pulley from turning while trying to loosen it's nut? Thank you.
Pipe wrench between the pulleys. Borrow or purchase a electric impact. It is a good investment if you do all your repairs. Make getting blades on and off easy too!

It should be similar but I can’t say without looking as I do not remember from one to another. I think the transmissions may be different so the belt may be different coming off the front engine pulley. As far as the mounting engine on frame it should be the same. Muffler may also be different. Let me know how you make out.

Looks like the tractor doesn’t have more than 50 hours on it. These are over $2000 as of 12/2023. That’s crazy money for what used to be a $900 tractor 4 short years ago.
95% of all my videos the machines look that good. I clean them before the video. This one was a defective cam from Briggs and Stratton. That can happen at any given moment. I think this was 4 years old.
Great video. This guy's so talented he can remove the engine one handed.
Should get the best video award. Thank you for a great one.

Thsnks for the video! The bolt holding the pully on, is it counter clockwise to remove?
If you’re talking about the engine pulley? The bolt comes off counterclockwise and on is clockwise.
Thank you this video made the job easy

Nice clean video! I've got a t1400 with 17.5 motor, do you know if I could replace it with a bigger motor without any modification? Thanks in advance
I'm sure it can be done but I cannot say what will and won't fit.

Suggestion Brad; how about removal of a Craftsman/MTD snow blower engine.
Hi Justin, It is very rare that I ever need to remove a engine from a snow thrower. If I get one in that needs a replacement, I’ll d a video on it.
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines I just bought a new 208cc MTD replacement engine for $99 from Brand New Engines. Plan on parting it out for spares.
Did the 3/28/19 Brad part come from the factory?! 😁
Another great video. I guess you have to trust that chain hoist with your life.
Not sure what you meant 3/28/19? I love my chain hoist!! Thanks for watching!
Where's the video on how to fix the cam on this engine?
Well Done
