- It was an epic day at the Philly Card Show on Saturday. I spent five hours among hobby friends, saw an amazing variety of vintage cards, and I took home some biggies! What a great experience.

Fantastic pickups Dan and thank you for the shoutout. I'm always a sucker to look at the strip cards!
Agreed... thanks Dan & Sammy for the Philly recaps... watched both your episodes... cool pickups. I definitely need to find a way to make it out & set-up for one of their shows!
I talked to Paul over 45 mins on Saturday. Bought quite a few 1967 cards from them. Really great guy.
Fun recap! Love the Wilson Franks Feller! I love the Philly Show as there is a lot to saw and fantastic vintage and pre-war.
Very cool meeting you again (I'm the short guy in that picture with Mook - he's shown his face in his videos before, I'll out him) and we met at White Plains. Awesome pickups btw. I managed to not spend anything (on a tight budget at the moment)he but it took ever ounce of willpower in me. That PSA 2 52 Mantle was one of the standouts to me, as was the SGC 10 Seaver. Ashish also had an amazing PSA 3.5 48 Leaf Jackie that was pretty insane too. If I could have bought anything, there was an almoat perfectly centered PSA 3 52T Jackie - one of my grail cards. Great show - one of the best.
Great pickups! Philly Show is one of the best shows in the hobby!
Love the mix of pickups. The 39 PlayBall Yankees is a fun project. They have a lot of nice looking cards in that set. The photo on the 70 Murcer. I think a lot of the photography is well done in that they show dugout and three quarter body shots more so than other sets. They remind of 57 Topps bit crisper images. They go well with the gray borders. That Feller is a beauty.
Thanks for sharing!
Looks like you had a blast and some great pickups. I’m loving the amount of show videos being posted lately. Thanks for taking us along
Aloha Dan ! Love that Bob Feller "flying hotdog" card. That is really cool. C ya !
Nice presentation, Dan. Some spectacular pickups. The Pipp and the Meusel brothers are treasures. You and I are both working on the '39 PB set. We'll have to find our '39 DiMaggio Play Balls at Cleveland (my first National). Love that '47 Bond Bread Dimaggio! The Feller and Berra are great grabs. And a nice end with the Cracker Jacks!
The DiMaggio Duel has begun!
Fantastic pickups, the Pipp is very cool and interesting. Cheers!!
Was great to see you Dan, very excited for you to have gotten the Wilson Franks Feller
I knew immediately when you saw it and reacted that I had made the right move. Also, thanks for saving me money on that Ryan auto I almost bought.
@@DansVintageBaseballPC you bet any time
Awesome video Dan 👍
You picked out some great cards. Thanks for sharing !
Love that 54 Wilson Franks Feller you showed.
I don’t collect baseball (hockey specifically Bruins is what I enjoy) but I found your video to be so informative and genuine.
Great pickups Dan, looks like a great show
Awesome pickups, Dan! Loved the Cracker Jacks cards, and that's the first time I've seen the W515 Meusel brothers card. May just have to put that on the ol' list.
Good recap of the show. Like those 1939 Demaree and Jorgens cards
Nice pickups Dan , really like the 54 Wilson Feller !!
Sounds like an awesome day! Love your pick ups. I guess I need to go to a Philly show.
Great video, great cards! Thanks for posting this. I'd love to get to the Philly Show some time.
Nice DD 1969 - i know that feeling - i started in 1972 & 1971 seemed "old' 😀.
I have a hard time finding 1969's well centered 😢
Great video and pickups.
Enjoy your channel and the content you put out 👍
Hi Dan, new subscriber here. I went to my first Philly show last year, to the September one and loved it. I follow Sammy and did meet him there. He's an absolutely wonderful guy and great for our community and hobby. Awesome pickups, that Yogi was really good looking and those Cracker Jacks are beauties. I was really interested in the 47 Bond Bread, square corners card. I picked up a square edge Jackie at the September show and tried that day to submit to SGC at the show. They said that they weren't grading those. I'm certainly interested what answer you'll receive, good luck. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to catching up on some of your recent videos.
You got some very nice pickups.
Great stuff as always Dan, nice additions. Gonna be curious to see how they treat that Bond Bread
Looks like you had a great show.
I only met up with one UA-camr this weekend. I was slacking, I guess. Looks like you had a blast, Dan. Oh wow. I've been looking for the Wilson Franks Feller. Great card!
Congrats on a great show and glad you had a fun experience! If you ever get a chance, to come down to Maryland- we have the Mid-Atlantic Card Show every 3 or 4 months or so. Chris Sewall, goes there too, and I've talked to him on several occasions. One of our hobbies good guys.
I am a very big fan of Chris and his content. He was at the last Philly show and I got a selfie!
Great pickups.
I collect Braves Cracker Jack cards--that is, I have created two checklists and have yet to add a card to the collection! ;-) I do, however, have some "Braves" (Doves/Rustlers) cards from 1909, 1910, 1911, and 1912: Colgan's Chips [E254], T201, T202, T205, T206, and now T207. It's tough. The selection available on the market is somewhat scarce. And lately it seems like these cards are listed for preposterous prices on eBay.
How do I miss you there? Ugh
Sorry I missed you.
Great pickups Dan. How would you compare Philadelphia to White Plains? I was kind of disappointed with White Plains in January.
Philly is a better show that WP for vintage, no question. Basically all of the vintage dealers also go to Philly, but you get several more that don’t go to NY.
Hey Dan great video. Just a heads up SGC and PSA doesnt grade the Bond Bread cards with Corners. We learned the hard way.
Oh, no. Going to look into CGC then I guess.
@@DansVintageBaseballPC no one grades them unless has rounded corners. To many counterfeit. Only FGA was the one that would
Yup, just saw CGC will not grade. Oh well.
Really enjoyed your content, thanks for the experience. I love vintage collecting for my PC. Can't wait to pick up a few more to add. Any advice on buying collections/lots?
I generally purchase lots on a variety of different larger and smaller auction sites. The key for me is to figure out a ballpark breakup value, and never exceed that (after computing commissions, taxes, and shipping). The goal is to pick lots that have cards I want to keep in my collection and sell off the balance of the lot for what I paid (or more). The long game on larger lots also includes adding value from grading the higher quality cards in the lot.
@@DansVintageBaseballPC thank you for the expeditious response. Do you have an eBay or website I could purchase some cards from you? Randall Cunningham rookie. In search of!
@@JeremyBrown-zw4hw I mostly sell on Twitter.
@@DansVintageBaseballPC bought a box of 1990 score to get the bo Jackson dual sport black and white. I pulled it, as well as a frank Thomas rookie xand a couple other cards I'm putting in my submission to psa… love ripping vintage boxes.
@@DansVintageBaseballPCI also bought a box of 89 fleer looking for fuck face on bottom of bat Bill Ripken. Didn't get the fuck face card, but the white out version on the butt. Not the black
Ain't been dippin. Slacker.
Hi there, I heard you were collecting the 1970 top set autographed and you have about 350. Do you have number 349, Steven Hamilton?
Yes, it’s a ball point signature that came from a dealer. I believe it’s authentic but it’s not professionally authenticated.
@@DansVintageBaseballPC okay, I purchased one in a collection a while back along with other vintage cards that were autographed and just thought I'd check to see if you needed this one.
Thanks for thinking of me!
