Coming here as a polymer clay artist searching for flowers, this is an incredible tutorial, easily translated into polymer! Thank you for your explanation of colors you used, and your powder blending techniques.
Looks amazingly REAL and sooooo much work! You are a patient soul no doubt but that is what creates the end result...thanks so much for sharing this art!
Hello again from 🇨🇦. Beautiful flower. Tutorial is very well explained and easy to follow. Thank you for not adding annoying background music to your tutorial. I plan to come back to this instruction to try making my own.
Hello from 🇨🇦! So glad I stumbled across you today! I love how you explain/teach and how you’ve kept videos to a reasonable amount of time! Absolutely gorgeous sugar flowers!! I’m inspired to try your methods!
Thank you for this excellent tutorial. I've really struggled with making flower paste dahlias. Thanks to this video, I've now got what might be known as a sugar dahlia. Thank you.
Competitive and time consuming but so worth the effort and if that is only your second time to make one, gives hope to make one too. Brilliant video and explained so well. Thank you for your time.
Watched this straight after watching your rose tutorial, you are an excellent tutor. Very detailed explanation, have subscribed and very much looking forward to watching your future videos 😊
Remember that when you finish dusting, you then need to boil an old fashioned whistling kettle til steam is coming out of the spout. Twirl the freshly dusted flower for a few seconds in the steam. This will set the colour and take away the dusty look, the flower then looks even more realistic
@@CakeNation Thanks! Although, coincidentally I have a cup that recently shrunk and lost its form after washing it with hot water, I should try and drill some holes on it and see how it goes with it 😊
Beautiful, looks so real and as you say it looks more natural because of the way the petals have been attached. You said it doesn't take too long, obviously you're skilled at this, but roughly how long would you say it takes you?
once you get into the swing of it I would say its around 30 minutes to do one from start to finish. You could probably do a few at a time which would allow for drying time...x
You my dear are a BEAST! In a Fantastic way! Thank you for making me want to make flowers @ 1:00 am while at work! hahahaahahah Thank you for sharing and making it look so simple But BEAUTIFUL (Which we all know it really is a lot of work)
Beautiful flower. What is the diameter of the daisy cutter you used? I made a one inch fondant ball but my daisy cutter wasn’t big enough to cover the ball.
It was the middle one from the set of 3. If yours isn't big enough to cover, dont worry, you can simply stretch the petals or cut the centre out and just use the petals for the same effect x
What an amazing video .. could you please tell me exactly what the name of all the instruments and the grey pad thing with the one you put on top and press down and what cutters you used .. I’m a novice but want to give it a go .. have plenty of time to practice .. thank you for your generosity
Hey Julia, Everything I have used is in the description box of the video. Off the top of my head there is a balling tool to thin the edges and the pad is a petal pad...s x
Hi from Norway and thank you for a brilliant tutorial. I tried to order the Ruscus leaf cutters that you are using in this video, but the link that you are using is not working. Can you link again?
to make or if I was to sell it on a cake? I guess you could make around 3/4 flowers from one pack of modelling paste and I would charge around £40 per flower x
Is a beautiful flower, a great tutorial but after all that work and time consuming how much would I charge for each flower on a cake? no less than 15. 00 or 20.00 dollars
2cm poly ball...you could add a bit of normal fondant into the modelling paste to make it a bit more flexible...once the petals are stuck on the back you can hang upside down for about 5 minutes which allows the paste to set a little, then always place with something supporting the underneath, either foil or a flower former until dry x
Sorry if my question sounds stupid... Why don't you use the cutter for each layer and simply add additional petals as needed? I find individual petals for every layer is such a time-consuming and tedious process. Dahlias are o gorgeous!!!!

So pretty!💗
How many layers of petals did you use here? Small how many? Medium and large how many?
I would say around 2-3 of each one. You have to eyeball it when you think it needs an extra layer...x
Beautiful 😍😍😍😍😍 Lovely 👌👌👌👌👌👍

I tried to order the Ruscus leaf cutters that you are using in this video, but the link that you are using is not working. Can you link again?
hey cecilie, i think the place has stopped selling them. you can use water lily cutters instead x
Bello bello trabajo. Felicidades me encantó! Cuanto cuesta esta flor????

Is a beautiful flower, a great tutorial but after all that work and time consuming how much would I charge for each flower on a cake? no less than 15. 00 or 20.00 dollars
It would depend on how much time it would take for you to do each flower. I usually charge £35+ for statement flowers x
lovely, pls what is the name of the cutter you used?
the link for the cutter is in the description box, i believe its a water lily cutter x
How many different sized cutters did you use please?
I used 4 for this flower x
beautiful
Many many thanks x

Hello, what is the name of this blue square that you use in the beginning under the petals? What kind of material is it? Thanksss
It’s a foam pad. Most cake shops if you ask or search for a petal pad it will come up xx
Шедевр!
thank you so much x
P E R F E C T 💐👌🏻👍🏻

The flower turned out beautiful, but WOW talk about time consuming!
KIMBERLAND I agree! This would be an all day affair. It is beautiful though
Thanks x
I’m in the US...Is sugar paste the same thing as gum paste, or are they different. I know that gum paste dries very quickly
Hi...yes they are both the same. its something that does dry out quickly and sets really really hard x
Beautiful, do you teach classes?
Yes I do. I am just about to start with some online classes x
How to make sugar past....how to color the petals. How to make the liquid like syrup which you use with brush to sticken the petals?
the sugar paste i buy (Renshaw flower and modelling paste) and i just use water to stick the petals together x
@@CakeNation thanks
what size poly ball did you use. Also I've tried using Renshaws modelling paste and the bigger petals fall back and fall off.
@@CakeNation Hello, could you share which former you used? They looked different than the Wilton ones I am familiar with. Thank you!
What is the blue mat your using ? X
its a cutting mat x
What veiner are you using?
just a rose veiner x
Tooooooop
Thanks x
Hermoso.

Hello, could you please put the suger dough thanks 😊

How long does it take you to make one flower?
about 45 mins x
Did you use hot glue for the cocktail stick?
no hot glue, just inserted the cocktail stick into the ball =)
I hv a dbt....can u plz help me? Whn Im making anything with sugar paste...it's melting...y?
you should use modelling paste, sugar paste will be too soft and won't hold its shape. x
gracias
How made a sugar paste?
this is modelling paste. you can use regular sugar paste and add typo if you want x
Sorry if my question sounds stupid... Why don't you use the cutter for each layer and simply add additional petals as needed? I find individual petals for every layer is such a time-consuming and tedious process. Dahlias are o gorgeous!!!!
just the way I preferred the look of x
What name The blue board
the blue pad is a foam pad...or a petal pad...x
What size is your ball?
i think this ball was 2.5cm in diameter x
Me sorprende que no use algo en el cortador para que no se pegue
I want this recipe plz
recipe for?
@@CakeNation sugar paste recipe?
i bought the modelling paste x
where in yorkshire is your accent? sheff?
A bit of a mix...I'm originally from Hull, but I've been in Leeds/Bradford for the last 20 years x
Cómo ae llama la flor 😍
Dalia x
Is it eatable
Probably not because of the poly ball lol. But you could make that from fondant. It’s just whether you would want to eat it with it being so hard
kiss ur hands from me please...u r a beauty creator.
awh thank you so much x
