I regularly race this track since 6 months now in Iracing and I must say I still have a hard time to keep the car on track. Really amazing how they race this track especially with this much traffic.

At 1:38:30 you can hear and see that a other car crashes into the R8. And at almost the same time the battery of the camera which is filming the driver is down haha.

What is the buzzing sound I always hear in the new R8 gt3 car under heavy braking? Does it have anything to do with the ABS?
Kelsey James I had the same question. The answer was, it is the compressor for the pneumatic gearshifting/gearbox. Please correct me if I am wrong

The squicky one is the compressor for the pneumatic gearbox, the buzzing one is the ABS.

GT Fan 8899 Sequential gearboxes make weird wines and buzzes all the time
I believe it's an air compressor turning on, the gearboxes run on air pressure if I remember correctly

Why are the ropes on his belt?
They ropes are elastic so when he take them off they spring away. Makes it faster to get in and out. Pretty sure it's banned for World Endurance Championship but might not be for VLN

Hätte nie gedacht, das der Unterschied zwischen drei Profis so groß ist :-o .... Marc Basseng absolut überragend und wirklich alles rausgeholt; Timo Scheider im Vergleich viel zu zaghaft und vorsichtig, und Mike Rockenfeller in diesem Fall leider komplett Fail. Sorry, aber da wär mancher Amateur schneller unterwegs gewesen !

Scheiders pace war aber auch gut. Viele Plätze gut gemacht anfangs
Sehr deutlich wird der Unterschied insbesondere beim Überrunden der langsameren Autos. Marc Basseng läst sich da überhaupt nicht aufhalten, drückt einmal kurz Lichthupe und fährt dann einfach nach dem Motto "Ideallinie ist für Anfänger, ich bin auf der gesamten Straßenbreite schnell" dran vorbei. Mike Rockenfeller hingegen fährt öfter mal 3-4 Kurven lang hinter den Langsamen her, bevor er überholt.

First and second stint drivers did all right but third stint was struggling to keep to the target lap time of about 8-30.

Bizarrement mon audi r8 preferer c est les premières qui sont sortie avec le v8 audi elle etait bien plus faciles à préparer il y avait plus de places et les v8 n on plus secret pour personnes d ailleurs c est celle que je recherche la v8 la premiere des r8 audi ont pouvait facilement lui monter 2 turbo ou un compresseur et meme les 3 ci ont etait fou puisque elle as vite perdue de ca cote quand la v10 et arriver

It’s either the gear shifter, or the brakes. Racing brakes sounds like it’s just metal scratching on metal. The gear shifter seems to make the same noise when he’s going through sharp corners tho

May be it is fast, but looks waay harder to drive then porsche 997, and jees that brakes sound.
Pity about the camera position. While it does appear to be mounted at the same height as the driver's eyeline, it's further back, thus half the time the track can't be seen.
Didn't watch as I've zero interest in spending half my time watching the dash of a race car.

Great drive, but it gets monotonous. The only passing doesn't even count. Like any series, NASCAR and Aussie V8 have their faults. Even so, they are by far the most competitive and exciting forms of racing.

0:58 On the left rear view mirror: Bentley Continental GT3 (white #17) and then a Ford GT (black #777)! Nice to see this car variety. Definitely one of the high points of GT3 racing.
